Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 33
After a slip in the standings last week, we were able to straighten up a bit and managed our 4th green arrow in the last 5 gameweeks. Our score of 54 helped us climb 259 spots into 2551 in the overall. It wasn’t a major gain, but we will take it. So before we go into our plans for the dreaded blank-ish GW33, let us run through the week that was.
In Pulis we trust!? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. After another shocking defensive performance from the Baggies and 7 point keeper Ospina on our bench, there is plenty of disappointment to go around. Luckily though our Saints defenders got a clean sheet. Alderweireld raked in 9 points and Clyne got benched. FFS!! Oh well, at least old favourite PvA came in with the auto sub and gave us a scrappy 3 points. Terry was the last of our 3 man backline and he did not disappoint by grabbing a clean sheet and 2 bonus points.
Our midfield had a poor showing. Hazard, as has become custom, got us something but the rest left a lot to be desired. Silva looked set for a big game in the derby, but quickly decided to morph into Yaya Toure and was rendered useless after the early assist. Cazorla and Eriksen have become twins just about, both have barely been averaging over 3 points in their last six games. You know it is bad when we all wish we had Fellaini and Young over the same time frame.
Up front we kept our same front 3 from the previous week. Once again, has-been Harry Kane fooled us into captaining him. Fool me once shame on me, fool me, well you get the point. At least our mighty Argentinian managed to score a brace to bookend the four goals United scored on his team. In our last spot we had Charlie Austin, should have been Glenn Murray but a certain manager for our site team protested loudly to the buying of the old chap. We can only think of one word to describe this one member of the site team: fool.
Transfer(s) for GW33 – Sold Cazorla, bought Fabregas and saved our other free transfer for next week.
The reasoning here is two fold. Firstly we needed to build up our playing numbers for this week and secondly plan for DGW34. Fabregas has shown a glimpse of a return to his form of the first half of the season by recording a goal and two assists in his last three matches. This weekend’s encounter vs Man Utd promises to be a tight affair but on their day Chelsea are more than capable of turning it on against anyone and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Cesc continue his good run. The Blues then of course have their two fixtures in DGW34 followed by a London derby vs Palace in GW35.
The purchase of Fabregas of course gives us our full compliment of Chelsea players for the DGW so we would envisage us buying some Liverpool players for the double gameweek next week.
Our team in full…
As you can see, the team very much picked itself this week with Ospina, Austin and PVA without a game and Baird….well, probably without a game!
Captain
Our captain this week is Sergio Aguero
A unanimous decision, which made the selection meeting frankly, very dull. But having seen Kun return to scoring form in the derby defeat last week, we decided that a home fixture vs West Ham was too good to ignore.
Our vice-captain is Harry Kane
The team in text format is –
Myhill
Terry, Clyne, Alderweireld
Puncheon, Silva, Hazard, Eriksen, Fabregas
Kane (v), Aguero (c)
Subs: Ospina. Baird, van Aanholt, Austin

Brave of the F247 team to fill up the chelsea contingent early. Obviously No plans for Remy fitness news. Which leads me nicely into…….
Which dgw players do you think are the best group out of these? I will have Terry, Moreno, hazard & sterling plus either
1) remy, Vardy & Henderson/coutinho
2) Vardy, sturridge & fabs
3) remy & sturridge
Obviously there are fitness doubts regarding Remy and sturridge.
Cheers
Hammers, I think hendo (because of price and form) is a sensible option. I’m looking at vardy and fab too. I don’t think I’d risk remy/sturridge because of injury and rotation.
Cheers alex. I have 2 ft so would you bring in Vardy and fabs this week for my 2 ars blanks then do the rest next week?
Something doesn’t feel right about playing a DGW with Vardy as the only striker with 2 games.
Hammers, I understand your thinking re forwards but unless we know more your risking a spot on someone who may not be fit to play two games anyway. I’d bench aersnal rather than sell as they have good fixtures and a dgw after Chelsea.
Yeah very true.
That’s why I love this site – there’s always someone to talk common sense when you become blinkered by an idea.
Hammers, it’s only commen sense now, it may be a terrible call after remy scores a hatrick lol. Good luck.
Righty-Hoot boys + girls, whats your thoughts on this blundering lot ? Have 1ft + 3.1mill itb, thinking of keeping it so as to have 2 next week.
Elle, roll as it is pal. Teams looking good (unless you want to sort keepers out but that seems a waste with dgw on way) you well mate
Cheers NZ, yeah i agree the keepers are a bit naff, but i went the match on Monday night and Krul actually looked ok, made about 4 good saves i think, so he will do for me. Yip all fine here, life back to normal now. Getting a new car on Saturday, can’t wait. All ok down in the Antipodes ?
Oh a new car ay, what ya going for? All well here thanks. On school hols so enjoying the last day of relaxing before back to teaching next week see my post below pal but what are your expert thoughts on the best 3 pool players for the dgw?
NZ, don’t know what car yet, not going out till Friday night to see what i can rob. :big-lol:
Seriously, i’m getting a Vauxhall Insignia 2.0l cdti VX line.
Now i think the best 3 Pool players for next week is a toughie, Sterling, Coutinho, Hendo from the mids, Mignolet, Skrtel, Moreno from the defence, its your choice, Sturridge is carrying an injury and at the moment is a doubt for Sunday. I think you may have to have a look at the stats for all of them playing away, games are more open for us away from home with the fast counters. I’ll let you know next week who i’m going for, after the semi.
Hahaha bloody scousers! Nice car mate, work or personal? That would be great Elle, would appreciate your thoughts after the game on the best bets. Do you still have your wc?
Hey Elle are you going to the game on Sunday?
No mate, only go the league games now, can’t afford it. I keep my season ticket going though, its 40 years old next season.
40 years!!!! Blimey! I put my name on the waiting list 10 years ago & guess what….
…….still waiting
NZ, no, the wc went many moons ago. Cars personal.
Hammers, did you get a letter from Liverpool about the waiting list ? They sent letters to the 1st third on the list, 25,000 letters. I presume you are one of them ? I think it cost a fiver and you can check where you are on the list. Now you see why i won’t give mine up, i wrote a letter to them in the summer of ’76, they wrote back and said send £11-70, you can have one, easy in them days.
Nope didn’t get one and neither has my mate who did it at he same time so I must be way down. We were thinking that we might get one when the new stadium opens but based on that maybe not.
Don’t blame you for not giving it up. I know a few people who get “their” season ticket from someone that has had one for 30+ years, now can’t afford it but has kept it going to pass it it on.
Hammers, If you go online, i think it says ‘waiting list closed’. Don’t forget season tickets are ‘non transferable’ so the original owners name will be on it, in other words, don’t phone the club to change the name details, they’ll take it a away, as people now have to pay to be on the waiting list, change adress, credit card details no problem.
Yeah the “real owners” name is on the ones they have so if they ever got stopped and asked for id proof they’d be screwd
Ok boys thoughts on my team for this week please? I’m thinking of doing Sanchez to bolasi as a one week punt (wc in 34)?
On the wc not thoughts on the following players. I’m looking at 3 pool, Chelsea and, even Leicester! At present its:
Terry, Fab, Haz
Skrtel, Sterling, Hendo
Schmicheal, Schlupp, Vardy
Any others you’d run with?
Cheers
Think you’re good to go assuming remy is fit.
ISanchez to bolasie could be a good punt for 1wk only seeing as you have the WC still (well done on that btw) I was considering it if it wasn’t going to cost me a -4
Going forward to wk34 I prefer Moreno slightly more than Skrtl tbh, but other than that I think you have all bases covered
Thanks hammers, is Moreno a certain 90 minute player, he seems to get subbed early?
Yeah he does get subbed off every now and then but it’s always after 60mins when the CS points are secured and before liverpool let in a dreaded late goal!
I think with liverpools fixtures in the DGW and the position Moreno is playing he could get some attacking points.
Thanks hammers I’ll have a look into him
Remember the last time I fixed my team for a DGW with a wildcard. Totally messed my season up. Good luck mate.
Hi all, thoughts on my team for the weekend?
2FT and 0,4m ITB.
Initial thoughts are JWP and Rose out for Bolasie and a <4,7m defender.
Which defender would you bring in? Thought about Schlupp but can't see the profits in bringing in a Leicester defender..
AT
The profits are a DGW and a nice run of fixtures. Wouldn’t rule it out mate. Check their games to come.
I like the Bolasie move though
cheers GP, just unsure about whether they’re likely to keep many CS in that run or not, regardless of fixtures! A Burnley defender could be a good shout as Kop’s article alluded to.
AT
You would have the added bonus with Schlupp of fair attacking prospects. Burnley are decent too yep.
Hmm…tricky one..
Any other team worth considering/with a better claim?
AT
Just short of Alderweireld which is a shame.
Burnley or Leicester might be your best bets.
At, morning pal. I’d make the bolasie move and role the second transfer over too next week or the schlupp move gives you good coverage if you need to realise funds!
NZ, hi mate. Yeah I would ideally do the Bolasie move on it’s own but need to find 0,3m from somewhere. To me that seemed the best plac…??
Evening all,
I’m off out tomorrow night but I don’t think I’m doing anything with this team this week anyway.
Unless you guys see something I can’t. All help appreciated.
With 2FT next week I am considering a -8 and do Skrtel for Hutton, Fabregas for Eriksen, Sterling/Coutinho for Mata and Vardy for Remy.
Thanks.
Would you still swap remy to Vardy if he is fit and scores this week?
Hammers
Of course not 😉
Actually I probably would as I’d rather have Fabregas than Remy mate. More secure I think.
That’s a huge move you got planned there Gallant! Like the look of it. You don’t often hear ‘2FTs’ and ‘-8’ in the same sentence… 😉
James
I think the MLS bug has caught me, -8 is nothing in that game!
It’s just a far out thought, might not happen but I’d like 6 I think for the DGW ideally.
I don’t think it’s far out given the circumstances mate. All the players you bin will probably be 2 pointers in the DGW and you’d have a stromg outfit for DGW34 as you say that could make up the -8 easy. Just like MLS!
Morning go, how are you my Scottish friend? I like the moves but depends on what your plans are for the season. Are you happy where you are or wanting one last big push. Personally I’m too conservative and like your idea. Go ahead mate 😉 what are your thoughts on my team and plans above?
Alex.
Yeah I’m fine thank you, off for a four day weekend now
I like your idea of that WC. I’d be going all out for it, you’ll be content having three Chelsea and Liverpool after it anyway as their fixtures are still good. I’d try to squeeze Hull in there too!
Gp, I like your thinking but hull, who would you go for there? Even he keeper is being rotated!
Alex
It was part tongue in cheek, there isn’t much to pick from them really even for a DGW.
Three from the other three should be fine!
Ah I get you now GP, us Kiwi/English folk are a little simple, you have to explain things to us 😉 Hows the little ‘un?
Alex
Smack bang in the middle of chickenpox! Both of them!
Returning to normal sleep now at least it seems. What day is it ?
Gee Pee, stick and save that ft, i’m in the same boat, saving that transfer seems the way for us to go, although we do have Remy, have to wait on Cookies presser tomorrow.
Elle
Yep I think I’ll leave as is and take Boyd for Remy if necessary.
Yip, only i’ve got Boyd playing and Baird is my sub, oooops ! 😮
An 8 point hit GP? I’d hate that
Kop
If only there was a spare WC knocking around somewhere . . . . . . . .
GP, they’re few & far between!! 😉
Morning kopster, you well? So let’s start a wc auction, can I hear an opening bid from anyone?!
Evening Alex, how much do you reckon we could get?
Kop, i’ll take a curry, 5 pints and no kids for a night! 😉
Oh that sounds good
Hey Kopster, sorry for denting your title hopes in the Banterbury mate. :shake:
Why what happened Elle?
I beat you Kop.
Oh right, fair play. I never look at my h2h leagues.
GET COSTA FOR THE DGW! Nobody will make that move. You’ll stun us.
Nice team by the way guys. Jealous of your midfield for this gameweek!
