Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 34
Another small climb in the overall has put us a bit closer to being inside the top 2k. After climbing another 335 spots we now sit in 2216. A spot that we are very happy with, but we have dreams of a higher finish. So this is no time to unbutton our pants and play around. There is no room for complacency in the final stretch and with doubles on the horizon we hope we can take full advantage. But as always, before we tell you of our plans for the upcoming gameweek, let us quickly review our performance in GW33.
Finally Pulis, finally! Myhill in goal came through for us with a very solid 8 points. Our faith is now restored, well sort of, once you check the Baggies schedule over the last 5 games one might feel it is time to cut and run. Moving along to our back line we see that fan favourite John Terry was able to secure his second clean sheet in a row. What a great guy he is. In the rest of our defence we decided to play our double Saints defenders. We hoped that they work in unison and bagged us badly needed points. Well we can’t accuse them of not working in unison. They both scored 0 points after giving up 2 goals and both receiving yellow. Nice work boys!
In our 5 man midfield we had a bit of hit and miss. Hazard once again delivered a big haul and bagged us 11 points. Owning and playing him is just common sense and to show that is something we won’t put up with, we also played Jason Puncheon. We thought he would at least deliver a number 2, but I guess he has better control now and simply took the piss. Our new signing Cesc brought the pain and by pain, I mean to us. Nothing of note from him with a very average 3 points. Yet that was still better than Silva who was unable to score a cheeky total and instead was handed a yellow and a trip to the doctor. In our last spot, we had Eriksen. After showing the Viking a lot of patience over the last couple of weeks, he came through with a goal and 2 bonus points for a nice score of 9.
Up top we only fielded 2 strikers as we had to make room for the Jason Puncheon show as previously mentioned. Perhaps it was because Austin had a blank, but why ruin a good story. We went with English saviour Harry Kane and of course our mighty mouse Kun Aguero. Ol’ Arry was able to grab a goal and continues to build up the hopes of English fans who will undoubtedly be left in state of shock when England play like their cricket team in Euro 2016. Our “El Capitan” Aguero was able to do a little something and scored 12 points when doubled. Perhaps not the amount we hoped for, but better than Jason Puncheon.
Transfer(s) for GW34 – Sold Alderweireld, Silva and Eriken and bought Moreno, Henderson and Sterling
As suggested last week we have gone full on Scouse for the DGW and have taken a hit to do so. It was an “interesting” meeting as we thought it may be. Selling Silva is clearly the most controversial move, but was necessary to facilitate our future plans post DGW into getting the Arsenal players we have targeted. This also meant we had to get Henderson instead of the more preferred Coutinho, but c’est la vie, Hendo has done ok this season for someone who can’t run. Sterling was a no-brainer for us as we figure he should get forward plenty in the DGW and also vs QPR in GW35. Moreno comes in as Liverpool have looked solid at the back versus the “lesser” teams – in the league that is, not the FA Cup.
Our team in full…
Once more our team has basically picked itself! The question was asked as to whether we should play Myhill as Liverpool haven’t been in great form, but having brought Sterling & Henderson in this week we’re hoping that they’ll knock a few past Myhill. They’d bloody better! So Ospina it is. We also considered benching Clyne, but given Southampton’s defensive form at home we decided against it. The only other question was Puncheon or Kane. Even though Spurs travel to Southampton we’ve gone with Kane as we’ve learned over the course of the season, never bench Kane. So we’ll have our fingers crossed for either a Saints clean sheet or a Kane goal.
Captain
Our captain this week is Eden Hazard
Little explanation needed really. There were the odd votes for Sterling but we’ve gone ‘safe’ as Chelsea look to close out the inevitable title and if they do so you can bet Hazard will be involved.
Our vice-captain is Raheem Sterling
The team in text format is –
Ospina
Terry Clyne Moreno
Henderson Hazard (c) Sterling (v) Fabregas
Austin Kane Aguero
Subs: Myhill Puncheon van Aanholt Baird

And don’t forget to vote in our Captains Poll for GW34 [polldaddy poll=8519167]
How am I looking? Set to go?
decent DGW cover, however no City in there and your defense is only ok imo
No Aguero would concern me greatly this week but I guess there’s not a lot David can do about that now! Defence looks ok to me. Palace and Stoke at home to weak opposition and the other 2 are on a DGW.
Hmm. I could get aguero but it’d mean no giroud, not sure
Good Day,
It is worth to -8 to take 3 Liverpool player?
Hendo-Sterling-Moreno ….
Yes it is, you can look at it two ways, firstly, with it being a double the hit is reduced to a -4 and secondly it only takes one goal or clean sheet to make it worth your while.
Between them they will get 12 just for playing so you will be 4 up, add a goal, assist or clean sheet and the risk seems worth it.
Tks a lots …
Okay … -8 to go …
Hi Rob, while I agree that the -8 may easily compensate itself on an overall GW score view it really depends on who are you taking out for those 3.
Sage words.
Morning guys, which combo is better?
A: Skrtel-Hendo-Coutinho
or
B: Moreno-Hendo-Sterling
Hi Magpies, with Sturridge out again Sterling will play up top so I’d say B.
A: Skrtel-Hendo-Coutinho
so two different opionions, i need a third one to decide 😉
B for me Magpies, i’ve got the 1st 2 and am just debating on getting Sterling in today
GTG?
All set Max I’d say. Good luck.
Any news on Silva?
Presser at 1pm Mighty but I’d expect he’ll be fine regardless. He’s been training.
Cheers Init
Hello everyone, can I trouble your for thoughts on my wc team? Please rip it apart! I have enough money to do vardy to giroud or courtinio to Sanchez next week. Thanks.
I’ll try adding the picture now lol
I was only kidding (sort of!) This time?
Impressive. Who are you benching?
DMC, Kane Van A and Alder. Which team do you prefer of the two?
Yeah I prefer the first one Alex.
Im also liking this option, which do people prefer?
NZ Alex:
Haven’t seen how Ramsey is playing, but Cesc is on set pieces. I would probably go for Cesc for the DGW, then trade him for Ramsey if you want the Arsenal coverage.
Is Cahill getting game? I thought Zouma was a big challenger to him now? If he is, I like the double Chelsea coverage, I was thinking it myself too
Hi Alex, I think I prefer this one. I say think as I’m struggling to see it! It’s a tough call between the 2. One thing I would do on either is bin Myhill. I went over this with Colriles last night so I apologise for repeating it but…
‘West Brom have got Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal before the end of the season so I can’t see where you would play him. Looking at Davis you could happily play him all the way through now with the exception of GW38 which is away at City. I think I’d bin Myhill for Schmeichel and play him this week. He can then sit on your bench until 38 and you can play him there as they have QPR at home.’
I’d maybe do that and replace Schlupp with someone else of use for the remainder of the season or even grab a token Hull. Either that or just find another keeper but as I say its unlikely you’d use them anyway until GW38.
Milk, Thanks. I guess the big thing is; double blue defensive cover or Fab! Thats what it boils down to for us WCers. I am swinging back to Fab I think. As you say he has a lot going for him and an easy swap after the DGW.
Init, thanks pal. I guess he’s there as he is cheap! £4.0 for a playing keeper. That said a Ospina has been looking better and better, Schmichael is a good option and I think I like that whilst picking up a good keeper till the end of the season (any suggestions?!) How are you set for the DGW?
Depending on funds and other Arsenal plans I think stashing away Ospina now could be a wise move.
As for mine I bought Sterling and Coutinho for Silva and Erik last night. I’ll be adding a Pool defender. Then I just need to decide whether I get 2 x Leicester for a -8 hit! Sounds bonkers saying it now but there’s good reason – if I don’t I’ll struggle to get the Arsenal coverage I want later on and it would mean taking hits further down the road so I’m thinking do it now while these players have a double to at least recoup -2 on each. In theory.
Init, I think its a good plan pal. Im all for taking the hits for a DGW. I also think having those plans for the Gooners is a bloody good idea, fitting them all in for me is hurting my head lol
That’s good enough for me. Thanks Alex, I’ll do it.
You’ve still got a wildcard? Right, that’s it, i’m off!

Ah NIN, don’t be like that big man, i’ll spread the love xx are you set for the DGW?
Only kidding mate. I prefer the 2nd team you posted, although, i’m not sure about Ramsey, for obvious reasons. Could you squeeze Ozil in instead? I’m all set, well, almost. Just need to decide on capo. It’s a tough call.
NIN, not if I want Giroud in next week i can’t! Im happy to gamble on Ramsey, he will get injured but hopefully he can see out the season 😉 Hazard for me. Dull but sometimes dull is best. Covers bases as most will capo him
Fair enough so. Rambo it is! I’m really considering going with Skrtel this week. Hazard is default pick, but i’m feeling a bit punty 😉 Mini league is wrapped up so maybe have a whirl at Skrtel… what you reckon bud?
NIN, I think its a great punt. He will (more thank likely) get a cleanie and so k owing his track record, BP’s so all in all its 8/9 points plus another game! Will be keeping an eye extra special eye on him now if you do capo him in 😉
Indeed. Could be a huge shot in the arm if it were to come off. 2 CS’s, a goal and a shed load of BP’s thank you very much
