Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 34

fantasy football tips hints strikerAnother small climb in the overall has put us a bit closer to being inside the top 2k. After climbing another 335 spots we now sit in 2216. A spot that we are very happy with, but we have dreams of a higher finish. So this is no time to unbutton our pants and play around. There is no room for complacency in the final stretch and with doubles on the horizon we hope we can take full advantage. But as always, before we tell you of our plans for the upcoming gameweek, let us quickly review our performance in GW33.

Finally Pulis, finally! Myhill in goal came through for us with a very solid 8 points. Our faith is now restored, well sort of, once you check the Baggies schedule over the last 5 games one might feel it is time to cut and run. Moving along to our back line we see that fan favourite John Terry was able to secure his second clean sheet in a row. What a great guy he is. In the rest of our defence we decided to play our double Saints defenders. We hoped that they work in unison and bagged us badly needed points. Well we can’t accuse them of not working in unison. They both scored 0 points after giving up 2 goals and both receiving yellow. Nice work boys!

In our 5 man midfield we had a bit of hit and miss. Hazard once again delivered a big haul and bagged us 11 points. Owning and playing him is just common sense and to show that is something we won’t put up with, we also played Jason Puncheon. We thought he would at least deliver a number 2, but I guess he has better control now and simply took the piss. Our new signing Cesc brought the pain and by pain, I mean to us. Nothing of note from him with a very average 3 points. Yet that was still better than Silva who was unable to score a cheeky total and instead was handed a yellow and a trip to the doctor. In our last spot, we had Eriksen. After showing the Viking a lot of patience over the last couple of weeks, he came through with a goal and 2 bonus points for a nice score of 9.

Up top we only fielded 2 strikers as we had to make room for the Jason Puncheon show as previously mentioned. Perhaps it was because Austin had a blank, but why ruin a good story. We went with English saviour Harry Kane and of course our mighty mouse Kun Aguero. Ol’ Arry was able to grab a goal and continues to build up the hopes of English fans who will undoubtedly be left in state of shock when England play like their cricket team in Euro 2016. Our “El Capitan” Aguero was able to do a little something and scored 12 points when doubled. Perhaps not the amount we hoped for, but better than Jason Puncheon.

Transfer(s) for GW34 – Sold Alderweireld, Silva and Eriken and bought Moreno, Henderson and Sterling

As suggested last week we have gone full on Scouse for the DGW and have taken a hit to do so. It was an “interesting” meeting as we thought it may be. Selling Silva is clearly the most controversial move, but was necessary to facilitate our future plans post DGW into getting the Arsenal players we have targeted. This also meant we had to get Henderson instead of the more preferred Coutinho, but c’est la vie, Hendo has done ok this season for someone who can’t run. Sterling was a no-brainer for us as we figure he should get forward plenty in the DGW and also vs QPR in GW35. Moreno comes in as Liverpool have looked solid at the back versus the “lesser” teams – in the league that is, not the FA Cup.

Our team in full…

Once more our team has basically picked itself! The question was asked as to whether we should play Myhill as Liverpool haven’t been in great form, but having brought Sterling & Henderson in this week we’re hoping that they’ll knock a few past Myhill. They’d bloody better! So Ospina it is. We also considered benching Clyne, but given Southampton’s defensive form at home we decided against it. The only other question was Puncheon or Kane. Even though Spurs travel to Southampton we’ve gone with Kane as we’ve learned over the course of the season, never bench Kane. So we’ll have our fingers crossed for either a Saints clean sheet or a Kane goal.

Captain

Our captain this week is Eden Hazard
Little explanation needed really. There were the odd votes for Sterling but we’ve gone ‘safe’ as Chelsea look to close out the inevitable title and if they do so you can bet Hazard will be involved.

Our vice-captain is Raheem Sterling

The team in text format is –

Ospina
Terry Clyne Moreno
Henderson Hazard (c) Sterling (v) Fabregas
Austin Kane Aguero

Subs: Myhill Puncheon van Aanholt Baird

Morning all, can I have your thoughts on my WC draft?
4.5 itb to use GW35/36 with Vardy to Giroud and Sterling to Ozil/Ramsey.

Any major issue or another suggestion?

    Whats the story with Costa?

Wow, I see just Migs went up last night. They have been really incorrect with the pricechanges lately. Both fplstatistics and FFF. Starting to think the accuracy rises/falls at fplstatistics are a lie. Not that I care too much.

Should I play Koscienly (against Chelsea) or Lescott (against Liverpool)?

Naughton has a better chance of a CS. :p

      • Raziel says:

Anyway, if that were my team I’d do Toby to Moreno,I think. I’m doing those transfers today, actually. Planning to do Toby to Moreno and Mata to Henderson/Coutinho. Will be a -8 point hit.

        • yash says:

I have already -4 and Naughton is out for rest of season

        • Raziel says:

The Moreno punt could be worth it. I see a DGW player as -2. Pool facing to weaker opponents and dude can score. Really don’t see the other guys keeping a CS. Though, with Pullis and WBA ya never know. I hate the guy. Well not him personally, his style. 😉

    Happy DGW!

Which would you choose between Fab and Coutinho, for the next 3/4 weeks?

Midfield already consists of Haz, Sterling, Silva. (Eriksen will be making way for Fab/Cout)

    Thanks

      niko says:

Why not an Arsenal player? if you can afford Fab, you can afford Ozil or Cazorla. You can plausibly stick with them for the rest of the season.

But, of the two, I’d flip a coin.

      • Cheers Niko,

I am pretty light on DGW players so its a Chelsea or Liverpool transfer this week.

Also, I already have a plan for Arsenal cover next week smile

I would do both but not sure I want to let Silva go!

        • niko says:

As a DGW strategy alone, I’d go for Coutinho. Offers a differential. Although Henderson has been more prolific of late, his goals have been screamers from outside the box – not something you can count on. Coutinho and Fab are quite alike in recent games, assisting the assister. But Coutinho takes far more shots on target as per whoscored. I did a bit of reading up in narrowing down on Sterling.

Yeah, good call to keep Silva. I have no idea why so many people are dropping him while staying on with Kane. lol

        • Cheers Niko.

Thats 1-0 for Coutinho  Anyone else wanna pitch in?

I know it’s prob the same people selling Silva who sold Aguero the other week, only to buy him back the week after laugh

        • Raziel says:

Fabs is also on free kicks and corners. Same for Coutinho?

        • Raz – I suppose that will depend on Gerrards playing time?

        • Raziel says:

If Coutinho is on corners/free kicks? Argh, I don’t know anymore. Everything confuses me lately. >.<
