Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 38

Fantasy-football-247--gameweek38Another week and another red arrow. That’s 4 on the bounce and even Newcastle are starting to feel sorry for us. We dropped 396 spots to 5328 in the overall rankings. Not a dramatic drop, but still the trickle slowly down is really p*ssing us off. Well let us have a quick look at the magical 11 that caused our sorrow before we move on to our plans for GW38.

In goal we had the trusty David Ospina. A nice showing by our keeper with a slick double digit haul. A couple of ‘clean sheet saving’ saves versus Sunderland had us sweating it out a bit, but in the end he came through unscathed. Our transfer for Wasadinho in for Alberto Moreno worked out perfectly. As our Fox defending the box delivered a clean sheet for us. Basically we sold a Liverpool defender playing at home for a Leicester defender playing away and it worked out. Heck if that somehow worked surely John Terry against West Brom would be an easy clean sheet. Guess again, as Terry and the CFC boys were there in body, but their spirits were on vacation with Cesc who left early. PvA our man! With two clean sheets and bonus points to boot, he was certainly a great play this GW. Now let’s move on to our on vacation midfield.

Why in the blue Hell do we still have two Liverpool midfielders you ask? Good question!! Hendo delivered the amount of points that his talent warrants, a big 2. As for his soon to be ex-team mate Sterling, he delivered the same lame output. Hard not to blame the buying of Liverpool players as our downfall towards the end of the season. Never trust a Scouser, never trust a Scouser, never…. It was also a dreadful performance from our star mids Haz and Sanchez, probably due to being contaminated from the utter crap that is besides them in our midfield.

Our strikers were not much better. Harry Kane has become utterly useless. Which basically means he is ready to lead the line for Liverpool next season as his strike rate has plummeted to embarrassing levels. Giroud is Giroud, so to expect anything but good looks and a tight butt from him could be asking too much. And even though he did nothing in this DGW, he was acquired to pretty the team up and he certainly scored double digits there. Kun didn’t deliver his bag of points this GW, but we forgive him. After all the goods and great service he has provided for us, it’s hard to stay mad at him. Now let us move along to our plans for the season ending GW38.

Transfer(s) for GW38 – Eden Hazard to David Silva
You just have to love FPL sometimes. We began the week thinking that Sterling would be our transfer out for Silva but ended it by googling things like ‘wisdom teeth out / recovery time’! We went as far as actually consulting our dentist at one stage. Seriously. The prognosis was inconclusive but all things considered – possible stitches / infection / antibiotics etc and we concluded that he may not play. He could surprise us and pop up on the team sheet but all things considered we decided to extract him from our team (sorry!) and bought David Silva. He’s in fine form (8, 16 and 9 from his last 3 games) and he’s at home this week.

Captain

Our captain this week is Sergio Aguero
A very straight forward choice as he’s in form (8 goals in his last 6 games) and he’s at home this week.

Our vice-captain is Olivier Giroud
Logically we’d have gone for Silva but as Uncle Eddy once told us ‘never captain and vice-captain players from the same team just in case it’s called off’. So just in case it manages to snow in May we have chosen Olivier. It is Manchester after all so you never know…

Good luck this week everyone and we hope you nail your mini-leagues.

Captain Dicky and His C Men says:

I dont think my rival played it well at all. He’s 16 points behind but 56 ahead of 3rd, you would have thought he would have gone for it. All he did was Hazard to Siggy, captained Aguero, same as me. Barring a Siggy or Giroud hatrick, i should be ok.

        Nin – what’s up mate?
        Hope all is well !
        Sterling/Hendo/Zamora —> Bolasie/Young/Tekkers (C) !!

        • NIN says:

Good good. I was sorely tempted by Tekkers (c) myself, but went with Sergio in the end. All is well with me, just been so busy recently that i’ve not had enough time to get on here. That will need to be addressed for next season!

I’ve gone with Benteke captain. Hope it pays off!

Had to go with a differential Capo…
Was the only option left – in order to try and do the impossible @chasing_a_45pts_lead…
          Rival went with Sanchez :hippo:

        • NIN says:

Pretty big lead, that. If he went with Sanchez then maybe Aguero was the way to go. Hindsight is a wonderful thing laugh

          We both have Kun…
Decided to Cpt a player which he doesn’t have in his squad…
Let’s see how it ends up…
