Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 32

Keep it simple, stupid….
Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 32. GW31 was good, wasn’t it?! Regardless, we jump straight from famine to feast, in theory anyway. GW32 is our first bumper double game-week, with no less than 10 teams having no more or less than two games to contend with. And then we have another 2 double weeks to get our heads around; GW34 being a relative mini one and GW35 being another bumper one with 8 teams involved. And we have a blank game-week in between all those with 8 teams not playing in GW33. Confused yet?! Worry not if so, we shall straighten it all out for you in the following article. Sort of…

Now, we appreciate that we are catering for about 4 different audiences here; Free Hitters, Wildcarders, neither of the previous and so potentially -4 or -8’ers, or even just Triple Captainers. We can’t really help the latter, we can however help the previous three. Sort of…

So with all those different scenarios in mind let’s try and make sense of what is coming up, if we can. Let’s start with the simples;

Teams who have a double in GW32;
Brighton – Southampton (H), Chelsea (A)
Cardiff – Chelsea (H), Man City (A)
Chelsea – Cardiff (A), Brighton (H)
Crystal Palace – Huddersfield (H), Spurs (A)
Fulham – Man City (H), Watford (A)
Man City – Fulham (A), Cardiff (H)
Man Utd – Watford (H), Wolves (A)
Spurs – Liverpool (A), Crystal Palace (H)
Watford – Man Utd (A), Fulham (A)
Wolves – Burnley (A), Man Utd (H)

Teams who have a double in GW34;
Brighton – Burnley (A), Cardiff (H)
Cardiff – Burnley (A), Brighton (A)

Teams who have a double in GW35;
Arsenal – Crystal Palace (H), Wolves (A)
Brighton – Wolves (A), Spurs (H)
Man City – Spurs (H), Man Utd (A)
Man Utd – Everton (A), Man City (H)
Southampton – Newcastle (A), Watford (A)
Spurs – Man City (A), Brighton (H)
Watford – Huddersfield (A), Southampton (H)
Wolves – Brighton (A), Arsenal (H)

That’s as simple as it gets in terms of who has a double and when.

And now to get complicated…

Teams who have a double in DGW32 AND a game in BGW33;
Chelsea – Cardiff (A), Brighton (H) & West Ham (H)
Crystal Palace – Huddersfield (H), Spurs (A) & Newcastle (A)

For those without a FH chip;

Teams who play (any games at all) in both DGW32 and BGW33;
Arsenal – Newcastle (H), Everton (A)
Bournemouth – Leicester (A), Burnley (H)
Burnley – Wolves (H), Bournemouth (A)
Chelsea – Cardiff (A), Brighton (H) & West Ham (H)
Crystal Palace – Huddersfield (H), Spurs (A) & Newcastle (A)
Everton – West Ham (A), Arsenal (H)
Huddersfield – Crystal Palace (A), Leicester (H)
Leicester Bournemouth (H), Huddersfield (A)
Liverpool – Spurs (H), Southampton (A)
Newcastle – Arsenal (A), Crystal Palace (H)
Southampton – Brighton (A), Liverpool (H)
West Ham – Everton (H), Chelsea (A)

Teams who have a pair of doubles (or more) and when;
Brighton; GW’s 32, 34 and 35
Cardiff; GW’s 32 and 35
Man City; GW’s 32 and 35
Man Utd; GW’s 32 and 35
Spurs; GW’s 32 and 35
Watford; GW’s 32 and 35
Wolves; GW’s 32 and 35

What to make of all that then? In all honesty it’s too much info to make simple, plus there are far too many scenarios to consider, all you can do is take your own situation with both your team and your chips and adapt it accordingly. It’s all become a strange combo of teams playing twice and then not at all and then twice again, sometimes even thrice.

Not to leave you hanging though, here are our (brief) thoughts on the 10 teams who have a double in DGW32 and our ratings for each, in order;

1. Man City – Fulham (A), Cardiff (H)
Hand pick two fixtures that you’d want Man City to have in a double and these would probably be close to it. Maybe both would be at home, if we are being picky, but whatever.

Positives; Both games promise goals aplenty, both should in theory bring clean sheets too.

Negatives; Rotation. In a nutshell. City are still active in three competitions, having already won the first. The other two follow their DGW in quick succession; they have the semi of the FA Cup on the Saturday after they conclude their DGW on Wednesday and then go straight to a CL quarter-final with Spurs on Tuesday. Good luck picking which three play both in DGW32 then….

Fantasy Football Tips2. Chelsea – Cardiff (A), Brighton (H)
Hand pick two fixtures that you’d want Chelsea to have in a double and these would probably be close to it. Maybe the second would be Fulham at home, if we are being picky, but whatever.

Positives; Both games promise goals aplenty, both should in theory bring clean sheets too. Certainly the first should anyway.

Negatives; There are few, really. Chelsea have a PL game in BGW33 but it isn’t until the Monday following the 2nd of their DGW32 games on Wednesday so rotation shouldn’t really be an issue. They have a Europa game on the Thursday but they tend to rotate in those rather than in the league.

3. Brighton – Southampton (H), Chelsea (A)
Probably not the best two fixtures but Brighton get a slot in third place based solely on the fact that they have three doubles on the spin. Albeit with a blank in between them, but buy and stash if you can.

Positives; Three doubles.

Negatives; An FA Cup semi in place of a GW33 fixture possibly means rotation in part 2 of DGW32.

Fantasy Football Tips4. Man Utd – Watford (H), Wolves (A)
The best (maybe only) positive thing about being eliminated from the FA Cup is that you then have carte blanche to concentrate on the league, which is exactly what Ole and co need to do right now.

Positives; Playing two FA Cup semi-finalists, neither of whom have anything much left to contest in the league.

Negatives; Nothing really, other than waiting to confirm who is fit and who isn’t (Rashford / Lukaku) and whose wife is dropping and when (Lindelof).

5. Spurs – Liverpool (A), Crystal Palace (H)
We’re coming home; football’s coming home, etc. Maybe.

Spurs have two doubles, but blank in GW33.

Positives; Have much to play for and will be massively up for their first ‘home’ game, should it transpire.

Negatives; Aren’t in the best of form.

6. Crystal Palace – Huddersfield (H), Spurs (A)

Positives; Have Huddersfield at home in part 1.

Negatives; Have Spurs away in part 2.

Fantasy Football Tips7. Watford – Man Utd (A), Fulham (A)

Positives; Have Fulham away in part 2.

Negatives; Have an FA Cup semi after Fulham and so will probably prioritise that and rest everybody against Fulham.

8. Wolves – Burnley (A), Man Utd (H)

Positives; Have a double GW, in theory.

Negatives; Don’t actually have a DGW as they will rest and rotate like heck.

9. Fulham – Man City (H), Watford (A)

Positives; Will throw everything at these games, no rotation is expected. They may play Watford reserves in the second.

Negatives; They have little to throw, and will get hammered by City at the very least.

10. Cardiff – Chelsea (H), Man City (A)

Positives; None.

Negatives; They are Cardiff. And they play Chelsea and Man City.

There isn’t a definitive answer as to how to approach all this, apologies if you came looking for one but there just isn’t really. Realistically it’s a case by case basis, your best bet is to post your team, your chip situation, your bank and your aspirations in the comments below and talk it through with everyone else.

    Morning all

    Think this is what I’ll end up with barring any injuries or surprises.

    It was Townsend or Deulofeu for me and to be honest it could be either or…

      Kralin says:

      It’s good. Covers most bases and Alli’s almost a differential. There was some talk that Lindelöf may miss a game due to paternity leave, so monitor that.

      I feel like we’re just sat in suspense before hearing news about the Man U strikers. Hearing that Rashford is fit, and Lukaku isn’t, or vice versa, may change a few things.

      Zed Leppelin says:

      What’s the reason of Rudiger over Luiz? Many teams here have it that way rather than the other way round, what’s the reason for that again, I must have missed something?

      • GentleBenAKA says:

        I don’t think there’s anything between them. Rudiger got an assist against The Netherlands?

        • Zed Leppelin says:

          Points Per Match:

          Luiz 4.5
          Rudiger 3.5

          Luiz has 2 goals and 2 assists this season to Rudiger’s 1 goal and 1 assists, Luiz has 16pts bonus whereas Rudiger has only 7pts this season… Luiz is on some direct free kicks and has amazing long balls, Rudiger I believe is just a threat on corners, as is Luiz as well, both should be quite nailed, I don’t see anything suggesting Rudiger is better than Luiz, but I see a lot suggesting the other way around…

        • GentleBenAKA says:

          Zed your stats don’t lie, and Luiz look more like Shakira than Rudiger does, so unless there is a good reason I’m not aware of (I’ve trawled the comments and can’t find one) then Luiz seems the best of the 5.9 CHE DEFs.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

          I think if one can afford it Azpi would be worth it to squeeze in instead of Luiz/Rudiger as he’s most nailed, Christensen might easily catch one game in the double at the expense of either Luiz or Rudiger… Although my current draft has both Azpi and Luiz smile

    hi guys
    i will play my free hit this gw

    here is my possible team
    ederson
    azpi dunk shaw
    pogba sterling milivojevic son
    aguero(c) jimenes higuain
    bench: boruc wan bissaka peltier hojberg
    0.4 in bank

    What do you thnk of my FH team? Any advices?

      DMC says:

      nauj – the word is that Wolves will rotate heavily so Jimenez may not be worthy of a FH team spot. Him and any or other Wolves such as Doherty, Jota, Neves. Only the defenders may have the 180 m but the fixtures don’t suggest a CS imo. Not sure on your budget here but Batman for him would be my move here. I suppose the 0.4 won’t be enough so perhaps downgrade Obiwan to a 3.8 and use those funds for that. Rest looks good to go albeit not having Hazard could hurt.

      • nauj says:

        thnks for your help!smile
        2nd team

        ederson
        azpi wan bissaka shaw
        hazard sterling pogba milivojevic
        aguero(c) higuain deeney
        bench: stekelenburg schneiderlin simpson connolly
        0£in bank

        Which one is the better team?any advices?

        • DMC says:

          nauj: not sure I like Deeney win there, for the same reason. I actualy have him in my current side but he is one of the main reasons why I’m not happy with it. If you go Aguero plus another big guy (Kane, Higuain) your third should be someone that you are confident to play 180m. Michy Batshuayi seems the better option there given the home game and the non-rotation risk in the 2nd game (granted it’s away at spurs). Now I understand you may not have the money for him and if that’s the case then yeah Deeney could be your answer. Downgrading Azpi to another Chelsea defender could raise the cash though.

    Frenchie says:

    Thanks Init, very concise and straight to the point.
    Shouldn’t the Spurs negatives apply to Chelsea as well? (i.e. “not in form”)
    I was a bit surprised given what you say about Sarri and Higuain in the comments, and here suddently there is no problem anymore smile

    Netihiiro says:

    0.5 in the WC bank, OR 15,827

    What are your thoughts? I’ve already used my FH chip and I’m thinking that my current team is too weak (even with a -4 hit) to get some solid points in this gw. So I’m thinking that it might be the best solution to WC this week and also prepare a bit for gw 33. With this team I’ll have 5 players who have a bgw 33, so with 2-3 transfers next week, I should be fine. What do you think, how would you use the WC?

  6. 24
    Sarri-ball says:

    Hi all
    I am currently on my WC. Played the FH last week and paid off pretty well. OR is pretty bad 362k. Playing the WC I need to think ahead a bit especially to the BGW afterwards. Should I be looking at having a full quota for the BGW or will 8/9 players be enough? Team posted below. Any thoughts on my team? Thanks a lot

      constantine says:

      @Sarri-ball. Finally someone with a “Non-FH” situation question. I don’t think you can have 11 DGW players and then field 11 in BGW as well. I think you should plan ahead for DGW35 as well if on a WC.
      As for me, this could be the plan:
      3 City(3 attackers), 3 Utd(1 player each position), 2 Chelsea(Hazard + def), 2 Arsenal(1 forward + 1 def), 1 Spurs(Attacker), 1 Brighton(Def) and rest 03 of next BGW players.
      This shall give you decent coverage for all future games. Hope it helps
