Fantasy Football (has been suspended!) Update
Unless you’ve been living under a rock (perhaps advisable right now) you will be aware that the Premier League have suspended all fixtures until (at least) April 4th. In essence this means that we will miss GW’s 30 & 31 and resume in GW32. Whether the 32 target actually happens is a different matter but for now that is what we are being told to work towards. We just wanted to make you aware of a few key things…
FPL have released the following on Twitter;

To pick the bones out of that, essentially what it all means is;
- GW’s 30 & 31 will still happen, albeit in a ghost fashion.
- You’ll get zero points awarded (unless you somehow still take a hit!).
- Any moves you make (be that transfers, hits, chips) will still count and be there whenever (if) we resume.
- They’ve waffled on about the FPL Cup and how it all affects H2H leagues but who really cares!
We appreciate that the above is short ‘n sweet but that is all you need to know in a nutshell. We shall update this accordingly as and when we know more.
Please feel free to continue to chat amongst yourselves as usual and add any relevant info in the comments if you see / hear anything pertinent to the above.

hi to all forum participants. first, I wish all victims of coronavirus quick recovery. second, let’s feel for them and with them as well during these two game weeks of no fantasy football. at least it is a reminder that there is life outside fantasy football. when all is settled, fpl will be back.
on a light note, can you imagine my game week rank for gw30 is 1, yes 1 as in one. at least I got to be ranked the 1st in one game week during the season. how many can boast of that. cheers to all.

Maybe its because I made a transfer.I am top of my ML but the only player with a rank of 6mill. Everyone else is Rank 1.

Just a question in terms of H2H leagues. If you’re playing the average this week but you’ve made 0 transfers would the average stay at 0 or be negative due to people who have taken hits already?
It will be negative if you have taken hits.
Are you sure? Do you have experience on the matter?

Doesn’t look like they’ve added those yet but in theory if someone has taken a -4 then the average should be below 0. Which clearly they have. However….
It is possible in theory for the average to still be zero but it’d depend on the ratio of people who took hits to those who scored 0. I think I’m right in saying the total number of people involved in the equation has to be 10x (or greater) the amount of those on a -4 in order to bring the average back to -0.4 or below in which case I assume it’d be rounded down to the nearest whole number. (-0.5 would see it rounded up (or down depending on your perspective
to -1).
So for example 3 people take a -4 and 27 are on 0. So 30 people in total;
-4 x 3 = -12
-12 / 30 = -0.4

Exactly, glad you’re back mate, never my intention to upset anyone here, just a bit of banter but I know that sometimes things don’t translate too well online! Keep doing your own thing and don’t take anything we say to heart it’s not personal at all!
I think I can live without FPL, but my worry now is I see they’re just shutting down all bars, restaurants, cinemas in France from tonight midnight. Spain in lockdown.
I feel like all pubs will be shutting down here soon, and that’s more difficult to live without a pint at the pub

I’ve noted with interest there’s talk of increasing the league to 22 clubs next season, to accommodate WBA and Leeds. That seems fair to me though of course has its issues.
That stemmed from the Brighton chairman on Football Focus who mentioned it in passing but obviously he’ll have been involved in the meetings so it must have been mooted as a possibility.
It does seem a fair solution all round. It’d mean an extra 2 GW’s but there are free midweeks they could use early on in the season before the cup games start.
I’m also picking up that there seems little opposition from other clubs that Liverpool are awarded the title as / when the season is called off*
The tough stuff will be deciding on the CL places.
*though I also read July – September was being considered to finish the season.
Increasing the league to 22, the bottom three of the Prem should still go down and the top three of the Championship should get promoted!
I have never liked the idea of the play-offs anyway.
