Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 33+.
GW33+ Deadline; Saturday 4th July 11:30am GMT

Fickle, much?

And on we go again! We hope you enjoyed your one day break from football. Or at least your spouse / better / worse half did. But fear not if you were having withdrawal symptoms as this weekend will certainly make up for it. Technically speaking you can watch football on Saturday from about noon until 10pm (and then stick MOTD on), and then again on Sunday it’s likewise but sadly only up until 9pm, (MOTD 2 will probably follow).

There’s then just the one game on Monday but don’t panic as GW34 then gets underway on Tuesday!

As always we shall endeavour to post the line-ups prior to each phase of the relevant GW and our usual FPL Countdown Timer (to be found above the latest comments section) is once again active should you need a timely reminder.

Tips will be dispensed in the chat below but feel free to get involved in said chat, whether that’s asking for advice or answering others.

FF247 SITE TEAM GW33+
This is where LMC takes a slight twist. Given the lack of opportunity to post any full or meaningful articles it is our intention to simply post our weekly transfer and Captain choice on here prior to each deadline. As a result this article has been posted way in advance of when it usually is.

Our GW32+ Result…
Last week (was it, sort of?) we spoke about a couple of one-week punts and we have to say they both disappointed a bit. Doherty got his clean sheet but nothing more and the less said about Rashford the better.

Our double Burnley defence (we lie somewhat, Taylor came off the bench!) did us proud as usual with 16 points between them. Elsewhere in defence Wan-B waved his wand and got us 10. We’ll forgive TAA, both an off night and apparently a week on the ale.

KDB and Bruno were our other linchpins with a total of 29 between them.

DCL and Salah can go sit with Rashford in the deuce dunce corner.

Had we nailed our Captain we would have probably been looking at a very good GW. As it was we went ‘safe’ with Jimenez. Safe got us 4 points…

We did still manage to get 71 points which saw us register our 3rd straight post-lockdown green arrow which puts us up about 13,280 places to 100,078th.

GW33+ TRANSFER
We have WILDCARDED!
We mentioned last week that we had identified GW’s 33 and 34 as being a good combo for two of our remaining ‘chips’ (technically the WC isn’t a chip but you know what we mean) and our intention was to WC in this one with a view the Bench Boosting next week. And for once we have told the truth!

The new squad itself is in the picture below but we won’t go through it in minute detail as it is pretty self-explanatory. In short, we have had to include a couple of cheapies in the likes of Foden and Greenwood in order to afford the rest of the usual suspects, all with a view to that BB next week. Our two youngsters have however both been getting good minutes and crucially also producing point returns. We’ve kept our Liverpool duo in the hope that they sobre up a bit before a plum game against Villa (in theory). The rest either have good fixtures or are in such good form that we couldn’t ignore them.

GW33+ CAPTAIN
Our Captain for GW33+ will be BRUNO FERNANDES
Our Vice-Captain will be Salah.
Salah had this in the bag. Until we saw him and his drunk-mates on Thursday night! And then the fickleness struck. Before City’s 4th had even been conceived we had a full house of twitchers and Bruno emergered from the shadows. We’ve decided to take the in-form Fernandes who still has something to play for over the lacklustre looking Salah, who doesn’t.

60 points from 5. Decent score with Greenwood warning my bench. Lol.

Sometimes I wish I was as bold as with my “fun” “experimental” or whatever you want to call it team smile

Hey folks, do you think Rashford and DCL > Greenwood and Kane is worth a -4?

    Chipster says:

55 from 7, with Ritchie, KDB, Mahrez and captain Kane to come. Have made up some (temporary) ground on ML rivals today, but they have LIV assets tomorrow that I don’t, so things could easily even out again. We’ll see…

Anyway, I’m wondering whether 3x attacking UTD is better than Martial, Bruno and DDG. I have 2FT so can easily do Origi to Greenwood, but need a replacement GK for DDG. Fixtures-wise, Ederson looks best, but that would take up my third City slot and make it difficult to bring in Foden alongside KDB and Mahrez for those great fixtures later on. Any other GKs to suggest as season keepers? (no pun intended :grinsmile.

Or, I guess the question is really this: which is best? 3x attacking UTD or 3x attacking City from now on?

      Kralin says:

I’ve been pondering DDG and then thought he’s probably the most nailed United player. So I may keep him.

With hindsight I would of course have gone for Martinez or Pope but neither have the greatest fixtures: maybe Pope edges it. Burnley run a fairly tight ship.

      Don’t Watford’s fixtures pick up*?

3 x attacking United but if one of the City players is Foden then it’s not so much of a pain if he’s rotated (which he will be).

      * then decline

      • Chipster says:

Thanks Kralin. Yes, I feel I missed the boat with Pope and Martinez too. Reasonably happy with DDG, but he’s stopping me getting Greenwood. Maybe I’m just being too greedy 🙂

WAT is a possibility. Might be able to work Dubravka or Patricio even, using FH to navigate round their trickiest fixture, now you’ve alerted me to that as a possible strategy.

Lots to mull. I guess I should avoid the early transfer for now.

        • Kralin says:

I’m planning to roll my transfer for 34 so I’ve got two in the bag for 35. Removing DDG and Rashford – or Jiminez – for Greenwood and whoever will free up a lot of dosh. But I’m at a loss as to what I’ll do with the dosh. So I may keep as is and have some faith in Rashford.

However will review if injuries etc start taking their toll.

      Kralin says:

Don’t know if you’ve FH yet Chips but having some sort of plan about that may help. Eg it’s only 4 weeks to play for if FH in 38 so the fixture in 38 is irrelevant as you can pick who you want.

      Smash says:

I’m terms of nailed on and value it’s probably United at the moment. Fernandes is essential, Greenwood is a bargain, defenders are decent value and Martial is in form: there’s not loads of strikers either which makes Rashford a decent option too. I could easily have four United players on current form and fixtures

      AJW says:

Hello there everybody – I’ve been pondering similar (ish) types of moves, i.e. Jota + AWB > Greenwood + Azpi, to take advantage of Utd’s ‘rip-tear’ run (with disregard for a few goals scored against them here or there). As it stands I already have 3 Utd players (feeling smug), but thinking of ‘zagging’ (as the expression goes in fantasy sports):
      Pope – Martinez
      AWB – TAA – Doherty – Fernandez – Stephens
      Salah – KDB – Bruno F – J Henderson – Foden
Rashers – Jimi – Jota (He’s gotta go, I know!)

But like yourselves, I don’t know if I shouldn’t stay put – because as they (might) say up north: ‘The grass is always Greenwood on the other side’! smile (Poor attempt at humour old chap – just stick to your rambling!)
      smile

      • Smash says:

Difficult one that as I think AWB is a good player to have. You are right Jota really needs to go so I think they are decent enough moves

        • AJW says:

Thanks there Smash – I’ll have to mull it over, but I think Azpi is gonna do okay – a suitable replacement for AWB, and that Utd attack is looking really vibrant. Hope you’re doing okay atm. Cheerio and have a nice Sunday.

      • Kralin says:

Seems fine to me, though I wouldn’t do it for a hit (Villa up next for United, where a clean sheet is fairly likely I’d say).

Maybe listen to Zig Zag Wanderer by Cap’n Beefheart whilst doing so.

        • AJW says:

Thankyou kindly young Kralin. Yes, the voice of reason strikes again! I will indeed wait out this GW, as you quite rightly advise – I must keep this impetuousness in check. The prospect of having Vila next is a great incentive! I’ll hide Jota under a bushel (or in 3rd reserve spot) which is likely to incite him to score this week! Cheerio and thanks for the fish (sorry, advice!)! smile

Is FH like a WC…can I make unlimited changes? Or once I click buy do I have to stick with the team I chose?
Can I buy player without FH, and get the points back once I do FH?
I see many of the players I want (10) going up tonight so trying to figure this out.
    Many thanks!

Ofcourse I do the moves and no price changes grr
