Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 33+.
GW33+ Deadline; Saturday 4th July 11:30am GMT

Fickle, much?

And on we go again! We hope you enjoyed your one day break from football. Or at least your spouse / better / worse half did. But fear not if you were having withdrawal symptoms as this weekend will certainly make up for it. Technically speaking you can watch football on Saturday from about noon until 10pm (and then stick MOTD on), and then again on Sunday it’s likewise but sadly only up until 9pm, (MOTD 2 will probably follow).

There’s then just the one game on Monday but don’t panic as GW34 then gets underway on Tuesday!

As always we shall endeavour to post the line-ups prior to each phase of the relevant GW and our usual FPL Countdown Timer (to be found above the latest comments section) is once again active should you need a timely reminder.

Tips will be dispensed in the chat below but feel free to get involved in said chat, whether that’s asking for advice or answering others.

FF247 SITE TEAM GW33+
This is where LMC takes a slight twist. Given the lack of opportunity to post any full or meaningful articles it is our intention to simply post our weekly transfer and Captain choice on here prior to each deadline. As a result this article has been posted way in advance of when it usually is.

Our GW32+ Result…
Last week (was it, sort of?) we spoke about a couple of one-week punts and we have to say they both disappointed a bit. Doherty got his clean sheet but nothing more and the less said about Rashford the better.

Our double Burnley defence (we lie somewhat, Taylor came off the bench!) did us proud as usual with 16 points between them. Elsewhere in defence Wan-B waved his wand and got us 10. We’ll forgive TAA, both an off night and apparently a week on the ale.

KDB and Bruno were our other linchpins with a total of 29 between them.

DCL and Salah can go sit with Rashford in the deuce dunce corner.

Had we nailed our Captain we would have probably been looking at a very good GW. As it was we went ‘safe’ with Jimenez. Safe got us 4 points…

We did still manage to get 71 points which saw us register our 3rd straight post-lockdown green arrow which puts us up about 13,280 places to 100,078th.

GW33+ TRANSFER
We have WILDCARDED!
We mentioned last week that we had identified GW’s 33 and 34 as being a good combo for two of our remaining ‘chips’ (technically the WC isn’t a chip but you know what we mean) and our intention was to WC in this one with a view the Bench Boosting next week. And for once we have told the truth!

The new squad itself is in the picture below but we won’t go through it in minute detail as it is pretty self-explanatory. In short, we have had to include a couple of cheapies in the likes of Foden and Greenwood in order to afford the rest of the usual suspects, all with a view to that BB next week. Our two youngsters have however both been getting good minutes and crucially also producing point returns. We’ve kept our Liverpool duo in the hope that they sobre up a bit before a plum game against Villa (in theory). The rest either have good fixtures or are in such good form that we couldn’t ignore them.

GW33+ CAPTAIN
Our Captain for GW33+ will be BRUNO FERNANDES
Our Vice-Captain will be Salah.
Salah had this in the bag. Until we saw him and his drunk-mates on Thursday night! And then the fickleness struck. Before City’s 4th had even been conceived we had a full house of twitchers and Bruno emergered from the shadows. We’ve decided to take the in-form Fernandes who still has something to play for over the lacklustre looking Salah, who doesn’t.

    Good morning!

    1FT, 0.1M ITB, WC&BB available.

    1) Time to use my WC?
    2) BB in 36 – good idea?
    3) I didn’t see Liverpool‘s game, so Salah – stick or twist?

    TIA

2ft and 0.2 itb and WC available. Cant see why I’d need to use WC but checking I’ve not missed anything. Any suggestions to what to do? Just thinking defence but not sure for what?

    Rosco says:

Has anyone considered ditching Salah? I’m likey going to WC and need to make some big decisions. I’ve looked at the next 5 weeks and I’m not sure he’s the best captain any weeks, with that in mind and City’s favourable run someone like Sterling may score more points. My only concern is ownership! Am I brave enough!!

I should caveat that by saying I’m in the top 10k, I still have my BB in hand, I suppose some would say play it safe but I’m inclined to try and take a few risks and make a push for 5k – what say y’all!?

      Special Agent Dale Cooper says:

Amazing rank and all set for a final push to an amazing rank. I think most would play it safe in your position but perhaps a few calculated risks could pay off handsomely and its more fun that way, just not too many. You obviously have been making good decisions so far so go with you gut i say.

      Carolyn says:

Yeah I am thinking of getting rid, fancy getting Kane in or Sterling, you let me know so I can copy you.

      • Rosco says:

You’ve just jumped over me in the reg league again so I’m saying nothing! haha. Well, I’m probably playing my WC so it feels like the right time for no guts no glory!

In all seriousness though, the biggest risk of not owning Salah is always his ownership and how it will affect you if he is highly captained and you don’t own him. However, I genuinely think there are better options every week now, even if you just flip between city and United you’re looking at:

        New(H) City
        Soton (H) United
        Bournemouth(H) City
        West Ham (H) United
        Norwich (H) City

        • Carolyn says:

The ownership thing is a problem but I know I am not going to cap him again this season! I wonder what percentage of the top 10k have him!

        • Kop Warrior says:

His ownership amongst live teams is 36.7%. I’ve no idea what his ownership in the top 10k is, although I’m sure such info is available somewhere.

        • Kralin says:

Live FPL is the shit when it comes to stats about player ownership in the top 10K OR.

Click on ‘Top 10k’ then there’s an option for player ownership.

Salah is currently owned by 60% of the top 10. TAA 83%.

      The Padster says:

I have Salah also Rosco, I’ve thought about doing Salah to Sterling and with my 2.0 mil in the bank gives me the option of getting Kane in if needed, the only thing I’m worried about is i have KdB and Foden already and Pep will be thinking about UCL and FA Cup, Where as Liverpool only have Premier games left!

      • Rosco says:

This is another very good point I should have included! There is nothing worse than having your £11m player benched and then seeing a rival player damage your rank!!! Maybe I should er on the side of caution! It’s mainly City’s games against us in 34 and Bournemouth in 36 which is making me consider the risk. A lot of my decisions will be based on how Kane looks tonight as their fixture against Bournemouth on thursday could get messy!!

        • Stone Frog says:

Yes I’m weighing up Salah and Jimenez to Son and Kane. Bou and then Ars, with Kane always seeming to do well in the derby. Ownership is a big risk, but I think less so now United have reduced the amount of Salah captainers.

      Gavy says:

Moving salah won’t be the maddest idea, I still think he has more goals in him though

    • 238.5
      Stone Frog says:

I was in a similar position last year and decided to take some calculated risks and go for it, as I was not sure I would get such a good chance again. Ended up finishing in the top 1K.

      Smash says:

I’m finding because I can have Foden and Greenwood who are so cheap I don’t really need the money from Salah. I guess it depends if you think Sterling/Kane/Auba will outscore him. I’m fine with keeping Liverpool players as I don’t see them suddenly losing games. There is rotation fear but that could happen with anyone really

      • Rosco says:

No, I don’t need the money from him, as I have over £107m TV and as you say Foden and Greenwood open up lots of options, but that also creates a problem as my TV which would have normally given me an advantage is somewhat moot because everyone can kind of afford anyone if they build around Foden and Greenwood, so I guess I’m trying to look elsewhere for an advantage which may ultimately backfire!!

        • Smash says:

Yeah exactly that’s true. Your rank is so high so you don’t need to take massive risks just the odd differential

        • Chipster says:

Hey Rosco. Here’s my thoughts on this. If you’re not dropping Salah because of funds required elsewhere, you could keep back enough cash in the bank so you can swap between Sterling and Salah on a weekly basis if required. It’s not a good strategy early in the season, as you potentially lose TV on each sale (or rather, you don’t keep the players long enough to accrue any additional TV on sale), but this late in the season TV isn’t so important. Also, if you’re about to WC, then in theory you shouldn’t need your FT each week for anything (barring injuries or suspensions) so it might actually help you to have the Salah > Sterling swap possibility each week to avoid those annoying times when you don’t want to burn a transfer. And, even if you don’t actually swap between them every week (or even at all), just keeping the cash free to enable you to do it will keep your options open (i.e. it’s only ever 1 FT to get Mo back in if he suddenly starts firing double digit hauls, without needing to liberate the required cash for the move from selling someone else).

    The Padster says:

So after building my team towards a BB36, I’ve now got a benching headache, I’ve played all the games in my head and come up with this, what would be your bench? I’ve done DCL to Greenwood, maybe a week early, but didn’t want to burn a ft, so 1 ft left amd 2.0m itb

    • 239.1
      Rosco says:

I think you have it right as it is! Nice squad!!

    • 239.2
      Chipster says:

Looks really good. My only thoughts for a future transfer would be Gomez to a Wolves defender perhaps. They have smoother remaining fixtures I think, and Liverpool seem to be struggling defensively with their away games atm. Also, Wolves defence is quite highly owned I think, so might be an idea to cover that by becoming an owner yourself (unless your double LIV defence is a deliberate tactic to go a bit differential).

Who needs to go? Thinking maybe one of the goalies and maybe Fernandez? Any ideas of tinkering?
Probably go captain Kane against Bournemouth this week? A good choice?
