Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16
GW1 is live! What better way to kick off the season than with a lunch time match up with 4th place implications written all over it. United will look to secure an early 3 point advantage over perennial Europa League participators, but non-contenders to win, Spurs. At 3pm we have 4 games on the menu. Recently promoted Bournemouth carry the hopes and dreams of many FPL investors as they take on Sherwood and the Benteke-less eleven. In another game that features a recently promoted side, Watford travel to Goodison Park where Everton will be playing for the only 3 points they stand a chance of winning until Christmas. In an early relegation battle we see the Foxes welcome the Black Kitties from Sunderland. If that wasn’t enough of a preview of the probable bottom of the table this season in the 3pm games, we add the also promoted Canaries to the fray, who play host to the Liverpool dream killers, Crystal Palace. In the last game of the day, Chelsea will look to continue taking the manhood away from Swansea as they look to humiliate the Swans with another pasting similar to those of last season.
On Sunday we have three fixtures. Arsenal will look to impress and have all Gooners excited and proclaiming them Champions after week one. Saints (the Liverpool B team) will travel to Newcastle and hope to make their mother club proud, with an away win. Speaking of mother, Liverpool will travel to Stoke where they look to exorcise their demons and by that I mean the memory of Glen Johnson.
The game-week finishes off with the Baggies looking to stop the vaunted City attack with a taller, wider custom made bus. Can’t wait to see the twitterverse explode about Sterling and proclaim the investment on him a complete failure or success based on one half.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for GW1 from all at FF247!
Sterling was less than impressive today. Was considering selling Hazard to fund Aguero if Sterling looked good, that’ll be an easy decision now. Looking forward to my 2 FT after GW2 already, very disappointing start to the season.
More of a fizzle than a bang eh red, I’m pretty glad that we’ve still got 37 GW’s to turn it around.
Yeah, pretty anti-climactic after all those weeks of planning and tinkering Andy! Oh well, as you say it’s a long season and there’s plenty of time to climb the rankings.
Yeah the optimist in me says get the duds out the way early, good planning will see us bounce back.
Could have had a couple of goals. Too early to tell.
Agreed. Although unspectacular, i thought the kid played pretty well. Bit of sharpness away from a brace.
Looks like Chelsea is signing a left back for £17m. Do we really think they will buy a bench player for that amount of money?
Isn’t that what people said when they signed Luis? I don’t remember exactly what his transfer fee was, but I think it was up there.
That was £12m, I believe. He mostly played in cups, though. Might see something similar with the new signing (don’t remember the name, but I think it’s the guy from Bundesliga)
They have costlier bench players than that! Definitely backup.
Yeah, that’s true. It’s different to pay £17m for a defender than for a mid or striker though, but I’m guessing he’s backup too.
Not for English teams. The amount of money in the league is insane with all these TV deals. Mid-table teams in England have more money than some big European clubs, it’s crazy stuff.
MNF FPL Watch: (not much yous don’t already know…)
– West Brom vs Man City:
West Brom: Not a very typical Tony Pulis side at the back and their fixtures don’t ease up to make them anyway appealing just yet. They didn’t offer much in attack at all and Rondon as well as a creative midfielder are badly needed, avoid in full for the foreseeable future!
Man City: Defenders are either too expensive or a high rotation risk although many may get Hart in for Courtois, who did look solid tonight! With 30 minutes under his belt, Kun is likely to start against Chelsea which may get people buying him sooner than they expected and perhaps replacing their City midfielder, of which Yaya looks to be the best value for money option.
Tnx Rambo. Well, Kompany f-ing paid off for me opponents. 😉 Don’t see how they can keep many cleansheets though.
So then, our final scores are in, just 28 points here. Dead last in all but one of my mini-leagues. What a start…
To be honest I’m actually kind of excited: the challenge of making a comeback should be fun!
Only way is up from here!
Hopefully…
Indeed, only about 2 million to get through to reach top 100k Dodgy start to say the least.
Lots of talk about changes on here. Just because Hazard, Fab, sterling, the Arsenal boys etc have blanked does not make them bad players and need replacing. You have to give it a chance, your initial team weren’t picked on the wim
What if next week is worse again? :hippo:
Then we may aswell just give up mate. Hahah
Haha, you could be right there 😉 One thing is for sure, if i get another 4 non-starters then it’s WC time!
Haha ye you had a bad week for your defence.
Indeed. These things happen though. We’ll all be back with a bang next weekend.
One can only hope. Think of it this way it can’t possibly get worse, can it??!!!
Probably can! But it wont.
Hahaha better not!!
That’s very true, but I was always going to have to sell one of my premium mids to fund Aguero, so it’s just a matter of who gets the chop. After today Sterling tops the list for me, but I’ll give everyone another week before deciding.
Keeping Sterling, not going to replace him just yet, saving my FT, got a comfortable 38 points this week so above average which is great!
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BADGER? Where is your avatar?
YOu have the same score with me, I was happier with my score on Saturday. 26 points on Saturday with my best players to come, them bitches gathered me 12 points. ZOMG!
I dont know how to change my avatar, had an account on here last year and forgot the password
