Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16
GW1 is live! What better way to kick off the season than with a lunch time match up with 4th place implications written all over it. United will look to secure an early 3 point advantage over perennial Europa League participators, but non-contenders to win, Spurs. At 3pm we have 4 games on the menu. Recently promoted Bournemouth carry the hopes and dreams of many FPL investors as they take on Sherwood and the Benteke-less eleven. In another game that features a recently promoted side, Watford travel to Goodison Park where Everton will be playing for the only 3 points they stand a chance of winning until Christmas. In an early relegation battle we see the Foxes welcome the Black Kitties from Sunderland. If that wasn’t enough of a preview of the probable bottom of the table this season in the 3pm games, we add the also promoted Canaries to the fray, who play host to the Liverpool dream killers, Crystal Palace. In the last game of the day, Chelsea will look to continue taking the manhood away from Swansea as they look to humiliate the Swans with another pasting similar to those of last season.
On Sunday we have three fixtures. Arsenal will look to impress and have all Gooners excited and proclaiming them Champions after week one. Saints (the Liverpool B team) will travel to Newcastle and hope to make their mother club proud, with an away win. Speaking of mother, Liverpool will travel to Stoke where they look to exorcise their demons and by that I mean the memory of Glen Johnson.
The game-week finishes off with the Baggies looking to stop the vaunted City attack with a taller, wider custom made bus. Can’t wait to see the twitterverse explode about Sterling and proclaim the investment on him a complete failure or success based on one half.
Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the fanteam.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for GW1 from all at FF247!
So then.. 21 points and a GW later I’ve decided to play the Wildcard. Not because I think it’s a smart thing to do or because I absolutely had to. Just because I wanted to.
I don’t advice anyone else to use their WC this early.
Anyway, with that said – how about this for a first WC draft!?
Ogbonna nailed on? Swansea defence or West Ham?
Still Depay after his weak display last game? I mean, the behind hte striker role really isn’t suited for him. There is talk about Defoe losing his spot. And lol, still sold on Sunderland defense? :p
True, but I want United cover and Depay is cheaper than Rooney, also rather have Agüero than Rooney.
Not really, I’m debating on getting Adrian in goal and going with Swansea def instead of Ogbonna.
Who would Defoe lose his spot to?
Not sure. Dick Advocaat said in an interview he was def. going to change the system Sunderland play. Defoe won’t be lone striker.
I think Depay will come good by the way. Like James below me, Mane should be on the scoresheet by now. Just like f-ing Sterling. Geeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, these guys have let me down. They can’t be doing that all season though. Also think Wally will start the next game for sure.
Caz cappo?
Do you think we should sell Defoe then Raz??
Oh, thanks. I will have an eye on news about Defoe then.
Yeah, many players have disappointed this weekend.
It’s Sanchez, not Cazorla. I haven’t decided on cappo yet though.
Geeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzz, my eyes. HAHA. Sanchez is awesome. He did look sloppy in the last game though, not Sanchez like.
Hahaha, yeah, but it’s Sanchez. He won’t have two bad performances in a row.
This really wasn’t just about his performance. It’s match fitness, he hasn’t got it yet. Brought way too early by Wenger.
I think it needs some Southampton attacking coverage in there. I think I’d take out Depay for Mane and use the 0.5m to do Pants to Cech or upgrade one of your West Ham defenders.
James – That’s interesting, and a good idea. You think I should go without United coverage?
I guess Rooney or Depay would be a nice luxury to have, particularly for the next couple of gameweeks, but after that I don’t see too much promise in their attack. I could be wrong, but Southampton’s fixtures are better, plus they looked far more lively than United this weekend.
That’s true, their fixtures are better! I will definitely consider it! Thanks for the help.
United will come good James. Young was completely nullified in the attack by the big Spurs monsta. Spurs were really good, they actually surprised me. Defensively Toby is a very interesting option, I think.
So guys, I ended up with 38 points. Can’t say I’m unhappy since there are probably worst scores out there, can’t say I’m happy either though. Saturday I was at 26 points with Walcott/Sterling/Benteke/Mane/Cedric/Merte to go. Six power houses collected me 12 freaking points. You heard me, that bunch collected me 12 freaking points. It’s a disgrace. If Mane and Sterling just did their job I’d be sitting here, quite happy, with 50+ points.
Sighs. That was my monologue. How did you guys do?
38 points. That’s… Better than my score. But I can understand why you’re not happy. All that time put into your masterpiece and then it performs that poorly.
I got a whopping 1.9 points from each player, resulting in a massive 21 total.
Ooh, harsh. Well for us certain players have really disappointed. In hindsight, from the cap choices I went with the best one, Rooney. HAHAHA.
Haha! Yeah you really did!
33 here I think Raz – not actually checked yet but the math seems about right. Same as you in regards to Mane and Stering. Feels like at least 12 to 17 points gone begging on poor finishing.
Yip. Both should come good. Sterling should really work on his finishing after making such great runs. He did look good. Silva just looked much better. 😉
Finishing on 34 with 11 points sitting on my bench in the form of Gomez so not too happy about that one but oh well on to next week.
FFF says the average score will be 33 this GW. I’m curious if they’re right. I hope it’s lower. :p
Ah ill be happy anyway ill have one point more than it haha 😛
30pts for me Raz…
Disappointing start…
On a more positive note, it’s an really disappointing start for the most of us. I think most managers that have done backround checks and stuff on players have had a pretty poor gameweek. Only punts that we could’ve foreseen and that have worked were: Mahrez and in my case Albrighton (I had Albrighton in all my teams for the first few draft weeks, lol).
26 :big-lol:
Ouch, that’s NiN unworthy. I was super happy with that score on Saturday though. :p
33 myself being 1/2/3 pts from each player plus Romero CS and Azpi assist. Still can’t see where did all go wrong but Monk and Bilic surely have a part in that. Totally early doors I’d say so can’t see a problem here really. To anyone.
Same, people on WC now are just too emotional or doing it for fun (like Ruben). I still think I have a good and decent team, I have been outscored by a lot of people (in my Dutch mini league). So I have some catching up to do. Which will be fun. Lol, I think 1 person even capped Kompany. HAHAHA. That player alone got him more points than NiN’s entire team. Kompany got 14 points today right? :p
IT’s the sad truth. What makes this truth even more sad is that excactly a year ago I had Kompany in my team, I think. :p
Any change required any this weekend’s monstrosity?
Looks really good. REALLY F-ing good. Just Wilson and Adam are worries. Your defence on the other hand is twice as good as mine. And I have Merte and Azpi. :p
EBC – mainly in good shape there – your defence looks particularly sound. I’d save the transfer.
When I picked Fletcher I had planned to play him ahead of Fletcher next gameweek… I still might. Not sure though after West Brom’s display tonight. What do you think?
*ahead of Wilson
Could go either way. I’m happy to give Wilson a chance for a few weeks. There’s normally goals conceded by the top team early doors.
I think Fletcher will turn out to be good value at 4.5 but I’m not sure I’d want to turn to him yet.
How about Adam=>Cedric and go 442 with four home defenders?
Well after a crazy GW1 i ended up on 58 points. Ime abit dissapointed with Sterling but ime going to hold on.
STFU TOY STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😛 LMAO. HAHA, seriously. Look up, everybody had terrible scores compared to you. 😉
I know , oh well.
Ooooh, I remember his name. It is ”Woodie”, right? Congrats on the score. But for real, don’t moan about a player like Sterling, he will come good. I had both Sterling and Mane messing up big chances. 😉
(he did play the bench boost…)
Id still have gotten 48 without tho ????
Just catching up on MotD now, what does everyone think about Jerome’s disallowed goal? Couldn’t believe it… if that’s disallowed then surely every bicycle kick has to be an automatic free kick too.
Jerome’s goal should have counted without a doubt. Was an excellent piece of skill.
First post of the season, 38points as well! Not sure if my team and all are linked since all of it remains since last year
Team isn’t linked mate. It’s actually just going into my team.
