Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16
GW1 is live! What better way to kick off the season than with a lunch time match up with 4th place implications written all over it. United will look to secure an early 3 point advantage over perennial Europa League participators, but non-contenders to win, Spurs. At 3pm we have 4 games on the menu. Recently promoted Bournemouth carry the hopes and dreams of many FPL investors as they take on Sherwood and the Benteke-less eleven. In another game that features a recently promoted side, Watford travel to Goodison Park where Everton will be playing for the only 3 points they stand a chance of winning until Christmas. In an early relegation battle we see the Foxes welcome the Black Kitties from Sunderland. If that wasn’t enough of a preview of the probable bottom of the table this season in the 3pm games, we add the also promoted Canaries to the fray, who play host to the Liverpool dream killers, Crystal Palace. In the last game of the day, Chelsea will look to continue taking the manhood away from Swansea as they look to humiliate the Swans with another pasting similar to those of last season.
On Sunday we have three fixtures. Arsenal will look to impress and have all Gooners excited and proclaiming them Champions after week one. Saints (the Liverpool B team) will travel to Newcastle and hope to make their mother club proud, with an away win. Speaking of mother, Liverpool will travel to Stoke where they look to exorcise their demons and by that I mean the memory of Glen Johnson.
The game-week finishes off with the Baggies looking to stop the vaunted City attack with a taller, wider custom made bus. Can’t wait to see the twitterverse explode about Sterling and proclaim the investment on him a complete failure or success based on one half.
Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the fanteam.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so don’t be shy and let us know how much you are in line to win.

It looks like Gomez will be the first player to go up, soon. You reckon he will keep his spot in the Liverpool team? Or is this just a temp thing?
And how about Oxford. Before they put him rightback I think they used him as DM. Man, he could be fantasy gold. Rated as a 4m defender and might just play 60 minutes per game.
If Barton joins he’ll be first choice and Jenkinson will be first choice right back.
Oxford to get the odd start but mainly come off the bench imo.
No I think he’ll keep his spot better defender than Moreno and can still get forward when needed.
Coates is my 4th defender. Wise move to get him out? Gomez is just 18. Maybe I should sit on transfers this gw?
Just had a look at your team mate and I think you can save the transfer. I’d play Cedric, Mert and Coates. He’s playing Norwich so could be alright.
Tnx Matt. I was thinking in the same lines, but I’m also fearful Dick Advocate might drop one or two defenders, hoping it’s not Coates.
Thanks for your help, off for bed now. Goodnight.
No problem mate. Good night chat soon.
Am I the only thinking of bringing in Payet? He looked really solid yesterday…agianst Arsenal as well
Get him in Havertzon!
Fair play for those that went with him. Could be a great differential pic early days.
For those that don’t have him it will probably mean ditching one of your premium mids though which nobody likes to do on GW2…
No there are plenty of other interested managers, I’m sure of that. I think I’ll get him in this week. Pretty much all the midfielders in his price range that I was looking at have done well this weekend though. Payet, Wijnaldum, Lens, Cabaye and Ayew all look to be good options.
Wonder who would dare play that as a 5 man midfield Bihom… Could actually end up doing really well and also allow you Aguero and Costa/Rooney and an expensive defence probably. But no one will do it
You could be onto something there!
Who wants to WC and try that out for the rest of the season? 😉
*Potty.
I’m just one dare away from hitting WC and doing this =P
Actually it’s not half bad!
Elle, get the WC out for the doubles team mate :hippo:
Dodgy as hell but i’d be interested to see how a squad like that got along!
Walcott – Payet
Wilson – Gomis -4pts
Any other move or hold the transfer?
Thanks
My opinion would be to hold onto your FT and stack it for GW3, it’s very early to be deducting points.
+1
@Rip, I thought Wilson was a bit unlucky to not grab something out of that Villa game. The moments I saw he looked real threatening. I like Payet vs Arsenal and in general what I seen before this weekend with him. However I would only move Theo for him this week if you were sure that Walcott will not start. Which is hard to know, but maybe Wenger will give us a clue. If not it is a judgment call by you. I have both of them and I think I will stick.
As someone on here stated before, it’s a shame now that getting top 100 for the week is almost impossible unless you use one of your chips, and they are really skewing the averages.
It was Bryan Munich that pointed it out. They really should look at stopping new entrants after a certain point because of this issue now. They won’t of course because they want new entrants all season but for the integrity and accuracy for the normal player they should do.
Do that many new teams really start each week? From what i remember looking at the weeks top point scorers over the last few years, a lot of them are teams in from the beginning that just make 10 transfers every week. Not much you can do about them.
Hi all,
Thanks for your help getting my starting team up, i managed 44pts which this aussie is happy with. My question to you experts this week is I had 2 non playing players on my bench. O’SEA and ANGELLA. Should i be looking at moving 1 or both of these guys on? and if so who and to what players? or should i hang tight with them?
Thanks all
Dazza
With Layun getting a goal and looking lively all game, probably could have got another maybe switch him with Angella?
@Dazza, I think I keep O’Shea. After the display the Sunderland CBs put on, one can easily see him getting the nod this upcoming week vs Norwich. Angella might find it harder in my opinion, so if you were going to move one it be him. If you feel completely secure though that the other 3 will start, I might keep the transfer and save it, assuming you don’t have any pressing needs.
Solid start Dazza, I ended the week with 36 points . What do you rank in Australia league?
I have a similar problem. O’SHEA and MINGS didn’t play for me. Not 100% sure what to do tbh.
How certain is everyone about O’SHEA getting a run next game? Sunderland has a good fixture and the rest of my bench looks like they should stay there for the next GW.
What should I do? Move O’SHEA out for a stuck Black Cats defender like Kaboul?
@Makeya, I wouldn’t say Kaboul is a sure thing. He was dreadful last game. Think Mings is a matter of fitness more than anything. I think I be willing to wait one more week on O’Shea.
I personally wouldn’t want a Sunderland defender in my team at all, they looked woeful at the back against Leicester!
For anyone lurking in, give us about 10 minutes or so and we will have Fixtures by Init posted for you to read.
Get a move on then, geez…
