Hi all, poor timing of the blank and suspensions has left me with just 9 players for the next GW!

    Missing are:
    Firmino
    Lukaku
    Aguero
    Simpson
    Wanyama

I have 1FT and £0.1m in the bank so pretty much resigned to a hit.

don’t really know what to do as of yet but quite tempted by bringing in Huth for Simpson, to make the funds for that I think I would take out Firmino (as quite keen on keeping Lukaku for Villa after their last game!) for someone cheaper but not sure who.

Such a frustrating predicament after a rubbish week with my GK scoring an OG!

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Or Fuchs actually. Sideways moving because Leicester are looking great at the back now and that pair offer great attacking threats.

      • mardeal says:

I like Fuchs for 0.3 more actually, he is on some set pieces as well, right?
Do you have any non-playing as well?
I think a hit is worth it if the option is the play 10 players, then the “hit” would mean -2 pts basically.

What does the rest of your team look like?

      Vinci says:

I’d agree with substituting Firmino out.
After his blank week, he faces City, Palace (ok), Chelsea and Southampton. And with Sturridge back, he may play a less offensive role than in the last weeks.
I’m not sure would to substitute him for. Willian? Arnautovic (great fixtures)? Tadic? Payet if you do not have him?

    mardeal says:

So there goes my starting XI, with two reds yesterday.

    Team (with * as non-playing):
    Gomes Henn
    Alder Monreal Cresswell Simpson* Souare*
    Firmino* Mahrez Ozil Payet Alli
    Aguero* Kane Ighalo

    2FT, 0.8 ITB.
    A) Simpson->Fuchs, and save other FT, and play 4-4-2.
    B) Souare->someone
    C) Simpson, Souare -> Fuchs and Targett and bench Targett against Chelsea.
    D) OTher?

      Vinci says:

First, I’d wait before doing anything. Much can happen before the next GW in 12 days.
Substituting Simpson looks like a sideway move. He will miss one game only.

Personally, I am considering substituting Firmino out. After his blank week, he faces City, Palace (ok), Chelsea and Southampton. And with Sturridge back, he may play a less offensive role than in the last weeks.

    DMC says:

I here people considering to transfer Firmino out which seems like a non sense move. Now, I don’t have him, but if I did (which I should) I would surely not sell him just because he blanks this GW.
He has an average of 9pts per GW in his last 6…
And for those doing that based on fixtures consider that he has produced in all of Liverpool’s recent games against top 4 opposition, except the Leicester game at anfield.
He’s in only 16% of teams and the reason why so many (the ones that don’t have him) are falling down the ranks. Crazy to transfer him out. Just crazy.

      Vinci says:

In the last 6 games, he played Norwich, Sunderland and Swansea though. He blanked against Leicester and West Ham.
But I agree that even when that did not show in the FPL points, he was very active.

And also: are we sure that he will still play as a forward, with Sturridge back?

      • DMC says:

Vinci – yeah he blanks here and there which says more about liverpool as a team than about firmino. On that note he had monster hauls against City and Arsenal. He’s very talented I believe and I don’t really think Sturridge will pose a problem, if nothing else because he’ll injury himself during these weeks.

        • DMC says:

ehehe WHAT have you done Cookie??!! smile
I guess it depends on the rest of your team and how many (and who) blankers you have.
I only have Kun and Luk so it’s a straightforward luk-Vardy but if I had Firmino I would really try to just bench him, specialy if a few bucks are involved to bring him back afterwards.
Was that for Mahrez by the way?

        • inittowinit says:

Hi DMC, you make a very good case for keeping him. My own scenario may dictate that he goes though as I’m bringing Mahrez back in and the only alternative way is to sell Ozil instead of Firmino. Payet is the only other who I could do it for but I’m obviously not going to do that with Sunderland at home!

      Brookyboy says:

I considered benching him for gw 27,but the fact Sturridge is back, tricky fixtures and Simpson’s suspension and the fact I would have a benching nightmare in future weeks is forcing me to get rid.Saying that I’ll wait till after the cup games to decide what I’m doing.

    Anti Top Four says:

Bench points…with having Eriksen frustratingly on the bench this past GW26, Mahrez GW25 and Siggy GW24, I thought I could win a league for most bench points this season – 343!

    How am I fairing?
