Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 26 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 26GW26 is live! After days of deliberation your transfers are done and your captain is picked. So now it is time to sit back and watch the points roll in, hopefully. Our main man T.J. should have the line-ups with you soon, to get the GW going. Saturday sees no lunchtime action as we have six games starting at 3pm. Stoke pays a visit to Villa park and have left all their keepers at home, daring any Villa forward to score. Chelsea receive Burnley in what is the first of two easy game-weeks. Pardew and Wenger battle it out for sexiest man alive when Arsenal’s midfield dwarfs visit Selhurst Park. Hull City welcomes in QPR in a bit of Sunday League action. Pulis leads his all out attack to face a Sunderland side that is looking to achieve mediocrity. In Swansea we will see a Siggy sighting as they look to fend off the sideways long ball attack of LVG’s men. In the last game of the day City welcome in the Toon, who they have managed to pummel 15-1 in their last 5 EPL meetings.
Sunday brings us the last 3 fixtures starting with a lunch time kickoff. Spurs one man show Bale Kane looks to add more goalkeeper scalps to his ever growing collection as the hammers come in after their FA cup disaster. That is followed up by the Toffees rolling out the red carpet for last place Leicester who are always a sight for sore eyes. The GW is concluded when the Saints look to derail Liverpool’s charge for a Champions League spot, in what looks like the best game of the weekend.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the woofbet.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so you can see yourself becoming rich right before your very eyes.

Good morning all. Advice please, on how to handle the blank and double gameweeks? My team’s linked, in text it’s:
    Krul (Panti)
    Bellerin Clyne (Ivanovic Terry Zouma)
    ADM Ozil Carzola Mane Silva
    Aguero NDoye (Kane)
I have 0.5m cash and 2FT. To field 11 in GW27 I need to sell at least one Chelsea defender. I get 7.3m for Ivanovic but only 6.5m for Terry or 4.6m for Zouma. I reckon best to sell Ivanovic and buy Bertrand soon (increasing my cash to 2.1m) then wait for Friday team news before deciding about using the other FT to replace any of my selected 11 for GW27 who are Injured. If all 11 look like playing then I could just keep the other FT. For GW28 my plan is to sell Mane for a Spurs midfielder for the Spurs DGW. I could even afford Eriksen if I have 2.1m cash, but I’m a bit concerned that he didn’t start in GW26.

Hey gkw is Bellerin fit now & do you thk Zouma will hold is place your MF is sound not sure I like Doye also not sure I would double up on Sou def you could do Zouma > Naughton & for the double GW do Ozil or ADM > Eriksen & Doye > Austin which I thk would work well for DGW

      • gkw says:

Thanks, Silverback. Not sure about Bellerin’s fitness, but I need to replace a Chelsea defender anyway if I’m to have any chance of fielding 11 in GW27.

Zouma is only an occasional player for me, coming in when Bellerin and Clyne have less favourable fixtures. I may keep him even if he loses his place, as there’s only a dozen games to go and any replacement would have a very limited role in my squad (a bit like with Shawcross for me earlier in the season, who made my team only a few times but I ended up holding onto him till the January WC).

I don’t see any problem in doubling up on Saints’ defence. To me, doubling up defenders can only be a problem if there’s a blank GW. Even then it’s not that big a deal, like now with my trebled-up Chelsea defenders I can probably handle it without having to take a hit.

Sound plan in theory but I wouldn’t make a transfer just now just to raise as much cash as possible,

You have Bellerin, Ozil, Cazorla, Silva,Aguero and Kane all playing this midweek and any number of injuries could occur in those games. I think its a risk you don’t need to take mate. Try to preserve your excellent ranking and don’t take unnecessary risks in the sake of money.

      That’s my view anyway.

Eriksen may by rotated in and out over the ext couple of weeks.

      • NIN says:

Morning folks. Yep, i agree with all of that, GP. Huge risk to make moves this early.

      • gkw says:

Thanks GP and NIN. Even when I played my January WC I knew I’d have to use up a FT this GW to replace a Chelsea defender and Bertrand is my top-choice replacement by some distance (Fonte would be the next-best choice).

I agree money/value isn’t as important to me this late in the season, GP, and I must admit I’d forgotten so many of my players are playing midweek! But Soton aren’t playing before the weekend so there seems little risk in making that transfer now. Then I have injuries to more than one player, then I just have to take hits. The good thing for me is Chelsea don’t have their DGW till later so the only transfer I’m likely to want to make in GW28 is to bring in a Spurs midfielder.

        • NIN says:

gkw – The risk is bringing unnecessary hits on yourself for the sake of an early transfer that doesn’t need to be done. I would give the same advice to anyone, but especially someone in the top 500 like yourself. With that sort of rank you’re really on for a push to win the whole thing so personally i’d be looking to keep things as tight as possible at the business end of the season

    Morning everyone.

Would GW28 be a good time to play a WC?
There probably won’t be massive DGWs this year… I am not sure whether waiting for GW34 would make much sense since I will certainly have at least 2 Chelsea players in my squad anyway… And I am afraid that it would be a little late to take most advantage of a newly sorted out team.
So I am tempted to play it next saturday. This way I would 1- sort out my defense (I am fed up of getting 1 point per player!), 2- load on DGW players (Eriksen and Austin?) and 3- possibly re-arrange my team to accomodate Costa.

Does that make sense or would you use the WC later?

    Foster-Guzan
    Jones-Jagielka-van Aanholt-Huton-Taylor
    Hazard-Sanchez-Silva-Downing-Boyd
    Aguero-Giroud-Kane

      Silverback says:

Morning Vinci I would play WC nk wk you could do Taylor > Naughton give you some cash Jones > Bertrand & Giroud > Austin for DGW

    • 134.2

      Vinci,

You have a fair squad just now.

Can you work in Eriksen, Rose, Austin (maybe even Phillips) before the DGW (even for a hit)? I’m thinking you could straighten out your squad after this DGW with a WC (have your three Chelsea players in that – as you say, you’ll have at least two for the rest of the season anyway) and that would cover Chelsea’s DGW when it comes round.

    • 134.3
      NIN says:

Vinci – Personally, i don’t think there are enough good games in 28 for it to be a wildcard week. You could get a few other players in relatively easily and you just never know when that wildcard will come in handy.

      • Vinci says:

        Thanks!
Definitely food for thought… Indeed, if i were to play the WC, it would be wiser after the DGW.
And the question whether or not there could be better weeks to play it remains open!

        • NIN says:

There could be. We’ve all found out just how quick squads can fall apart recently. So many injuries/suspensions and players being dropped etc. You just never know what will happen.

Morning all. Any advice on my team and should I get rid of Walcott

  4. 136
    Silverback says:

Whilst a few more on thk I need to get rid of Clichy & Baird any suggestions got .3m in bank (it would mean 4 point hit)

    • 136.1
      NIN says:

Morning Silverback. I would lose Clichy for a WBA defender and leave it at that. I cant see a real need for a hit. WBA defender, Bertrand + one of van Aanholt/Bellerin is a good defence. If you feel you do need to take a hit, then maybe Haidara could go well as a one week punt, or maybe Wollscheid.

    Pippin says:

Hi folks. Not too shabby a weekend but my team is slowly drifting downhill. I brought in Vlaar for Wisdom and the silly beggar got himself sent off. At least Bertrand is back. I have two Chelsea and Kane on the bench, Vlaar and PvA possibly not playing, and the misfiring JWP, Puncheon and Pelle in my starting lineup. I have 2 FTs and 0.2m in the bank. Any advice out there? Terry > Koscielny might see me alright this week, leaving 2FTs in the DGW? Or is this a WC moment, less than a month after I played my last one… Cheers fellas.

    • 137.1
      NIN says:

Hi Pippin. Certainly no need to play your wildcard this week, although, you do have some issues as you say. I think you’re best served just making sure you have 11 men this week and keeping that extra FT for the DGW. There are a good few cheap options in defence just now so i would move Vlaar on and leave it at that. Pelle is a big concern as his form is simply terrible so he can go next GW, maybe for Austin for the DGW.

    Mastermind FC says:

    Scraping the barrel here…

Any suggestions for a 3,9m defender who will play in the next GW? I already have Bruce, and the only other I can think of is Mcshane, but I hardly want to double up on Hull defence! This is all so that I can do Downing > Eriksen for DGW (and even then I need Eriksen to drop 0.1 to be able to afford it).

    • 138.1
      NIN says:

The only 3.9m starters that i am aware of just now are Bruce, who you have, and Yun, who has a blank. I certainly wouldn’t double up on Hull defence with McShane.

      • Raziel says:

Maybe smarter to keep the FT and work shit out the week after?

        • NIN says:

Needs someone who will start. I would suggest a change of plan altogether. The 3.9m range is extremely iffy. More than one could bring more problems than it solves.

        • Raziel says:

Got to go. Please do tell me your plans for the upcoming weeks so I can steal them NiN, or nick them as ya call it. J/k.

I’m planning to do nothing this GW. I might take an 8 point hit in the DGW, not sure yet though since the Rose decision is an odd one. I want to do Santi to Eriksen and Defoe to Austin, if I feel like it Rose to Wisdom (if I don’t I’ll never touch Wisdom and he just sits there wasting money).

        • Raziel says:

          @ NiN
Before I go. Please answer this. My team is called: ”Go nuts, go apeshit!”

They wouldn’t ban ya team for a name like that would they?

        • NIN says:

laugh I’m not going heavy on the DGW, to be honest. I’ve got Kane and he will be my (c) so i might just add one more player. Maybe Austin, maybe Eriksen, maybe Rose. I’ll weigh it up after this weekend’s games and see what way i want to go. As for this week, i’m going to have to sell Wasilewski and Marney. My budget for replacements is really low so i’m looking at Haidara and Ibe. 8.6m for a defender and a midfielder is pretty horrendous so i reckon they are the best i can afford.

        • NIN says:

No, Raz. They wouldn’t just outright ban a team before giving the manager a warning. You may log in some day and see your team name has been changed to “CHANGE TEAM NAME”. It has happened to a couple of my mates down the years but no-one was ever outright banned.

    • 138.2
      Raziel says:

Eriksen already at -17.3, he will drop, I’m sure of it. With a little bit of luck even Costa will drop. Not sure why all the retards are dropping Defoe, he’s facing United next. Goals galore. Bruce could be a 3.9m option, think his sub in the last game was a tactical sub because they faced an opponent with just 10 men. Anyway, other players, lets see. McShane maybe, Yun has a blank GW (else he would’vebe an option). Baird shouldn’t be an option.

      • Mastermind FC says:

        Thanks for the responses.

I don’t really want to wait because I’m short of players for next GW. Currently have Wisdom and Gardos in defence and Albrighton in midfield (don’t ask), plus I’ll be benching Terry, Hazard and Kane. So I was thinking Wisdom > Dawson and Gardos > any 3.9 defender for a -4 hit. Then Downing > Eriksen for DGW.

I suppose I could just do Wisdom > Dawson this week and then Gardos > Yun the week after along with the Eriksen transfer. Decisions!

        • Mastermind FC says:

To clarify, I’ll be benching the Chelsea and Spurs players for the DGW obv!

        • Mastermind FC says:

Christ how do you delete a comment!? I’m benching them for the next GW, not the the DGW. Clearly haven’t woken up properly this morning

        • NIN says:

          Interesting tactic! laugh

        • NIN says:

The latter sounds like a better move. Hardly any point in taking a hit this week for a player with no game.

        • Mastermind FC says:

I think that’s what I’ll do, plus Yun will have a DGW (although he isn’t a dead cert and QPR have terrible fixtures that week!).

Albrighton can just rot on my bench for awhile.
