We hope you enjoyed your long summer break. Ahem, let’s try that again. Anyway, you get the picture.
We hope this finds you and all your loved ones relatively safe and well. And welcome back to Live Match Chat. For those of you new to it it’s basically our version of Soccer Saturday but without any annoying flat earthers, big nosed scousers or smarmy Scotsmen. Oh, hang on…
The new season kicks off on Saturday lunchtime with a newly bullish Arsenal taking a trip to see whether Fulham learned any lessons from the last time they mixed it with the big boys.
This is followed by just the one 3pm game as Palace host Southampton.
Saturday finishes with the Champions Liverpool welcoming Leeds back in to the big time at 5.30pm and then Newcastle go to West Ham at 8pm.
On Sunday we have two games beginning with newcomers West Brom stepping back up to host Leicester. Followed by two stalwarts as Everton go to their bogey team Spurs.
Monday is unusual (what isn’t these days) as we have two 8pm games. Brighton host a new look Chelsea team and Sheffield United welcome Wolves.
It is of course a reduced GW in that both Manchester clubs were given a break after their European

Hey guys! Hope all had a good start to the season and are keeping safe:
Would be great to have some thoughts on my team below as I am considering a rare -8 for the following changes:
– Son > Bruno (Bruno is the only sureshot United player to have for the season)
– K Walker – Peters > Mitchell (CRY) – saves 0.5 possibly similar returns, CRY has slightly better mid term fixtures (wingback for wingback)
– Antonio > Davis (AVL) – unhappy about this one, but need funds for Bruno (antonio has to go anyways due to horrible fixtures)
Any other changes also welcome
Definite no from me. That’s a -8 for one player to effectively have less than 11 Affective players playing every week
Just do Vardy to Martial or downgrade Vardy and swap Son to Fernandes ? Only so many expensive big hitters yoy can accommodate before it has a negative affect on the rest of your team.

Next week, Burke may not start so Bissouma will take his place.

What’s the deal with United’s mids? Seen rumours Rashford is lacking fitness and Greenwood is in trouble again?
Wondering if it’s worth keeping Son for another week and banking my FT.
I don’t think I’d touch Greenwood currently. I think Rashford played in that friendly but I know he has had an injury
It’s a bit of a carnage in midfield for United. Fred & Matic currently out, Pogba didn’t have good pre-season due COVID-19, Greenwood doing one dumb thing after another, McTominay pickled up a knock in the friendly against Villa, Rashford played 75 minutes as number 10 in said friendly but was shocking. VDB looked good on Saturday, so he might start. James & Lingard played a bit better than usual (which is still bad).
Bruno and Martial are the players to go ATM, everyone else is wait and see.
