Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1.
We hope you enjoyed your long summer break. Ahem, let’s try that again. Anyway, you get the picture.
We hope this finds you and all your loved ones relatively safe and well. And welcome back to Live Match Chat. For those of you new to it it’s basically our version of Soccer Saturday but without any annoying flat earthers, big nosed scousers or smarmy Scotsmen. Oh, hang on…
The new season kicks off on Saturday lunchtime with a newly bullish Arsenal taking a trip to see whether Fulham learned any lessons from the last time they mixed it with the big boys.
This is followed by just the one 3pm game as Palace host Southampton.
Saturday finishes with the Champions Liverpool welcoming Leeds back in to the big time at 5.30pm and then Newcastle go to West Ham at 8pm.
On Sunday we have two games beginning with newcomers West Brom stepping back up to host Leicester. Followed by two stalwarts as Everton go to their bogey team Spurs.
Monday is unusual (what isn’t these days) as we have two 8pm games. Brighton host a new look Chelsea team and Sheffield United welcome Wolves.
It is of course a reduced GW in that both Manchester clubs were given a break after their European adventures disasters and subsequently Burnley and Villa have the week off too.
The games in full…

Nuno Espirito Santo declared in his Friday press conference that new signing Fernando Marçal needed time to adapt to Wolves’ style of playing… That’s why I picked Vinagre…
Cheers Nuno, you big fat liar!!!
I also read that. Down to 9 players now hah
I can live with Vinahre benched. That gets Mitchell into my XI. Just please Nuno don’t give him a stupid cameo
Well, Raul is certainly quick out the gates…!
Sheffield in shambles down 0-2 after ‘6
Henderson-less defence the issue?
I’d say. I mean, sharp Wolves finishing and all that, but Ramsdale does not look confident (or particularly quick on his feet)
Wow…Wolves are on a roll!
and Jimenez looks sharp as hell.
And I replaced Saiss with Dier
Oh Dier
Yeah, I’d rather have e.g. Wolves or maybe even Leeds players than Spurs right now as they are more exciting to watch (and less pricey). If I’m gonna spend couple hours watching matches, want them to be fun to watch (Wolves, Leeds), not boring (Spurs). Only Spurs players who is fun to watch right now is prolly Son.
I had Saiss in my squad a few days ago. :punish:
I genuinely thought he was a bench-risk
I mean, I had completely different plans but Saka’s absence and Nuno’s lies led me to this.
I am slightly tempted to play my WC but it’s more of a annoyance then anything.
Justin & Doucoure for Saka & Vinagre, right? Any other good options or suggestions?
I would not use WC yet. You will regret it. If you have the extra bring in Saiss, Taylor or Justin (for a few more weeks) for Vinagre.
Thanks bees! 0 ITB, I should have mentioned that. A bit of a pickle with Saka, Vinagre, Mitchell (PVA is close), even Doherty (after Jose’s comments). Also, I have no bench whatsoever. :scratch_one-s_head:
That team does not need a wc ! Saka to Podence ? Play your leeds defender and sort vingre next week.
Cheers Brookyboy! I don’t think Podence will start every game and my Leeds defender is nowhere to be seen. And then Jose said this about Doherty…
If Werner (C) outscores salah will this turn out to be an ok gameweek!
It could happen right?! 😉
Or if he flops, Jimenez to replace him GW3. Amazing run of fixtures!
What? No! Hell no!!!
