Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 12

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 12. Friday night football is back! Don’t get too excited…it’s a bottom of the table clash as Norwich host Watford. Given how bad these two teams are it could be anything from a scoreless draw to a 5-5 cracker. The safe bet is a boring scoreless draw.

Saturday kicks off at lunchtime as an in form Chelsea team host a Palace side who have taken one point from their last three games. 3pm sees a battle between two teams in freefall as Burnley host West Ham. Bournemouth face the long trip north to play Newcastle. Southampton host Everton in a game that will challenge Friday night’s game for the worst game of the weekend! John Lundstram travels to London to face Spurs. Saturday draws to a conclusion as free scoring Leicester host a clueless Arsenal side.

There are two games at 2pm on Sunday as United host Brighton and Wolves host Villa in what is likely to be a fiery Midlands derby. They have unquestionably saved the best for last as at 4:30pm Liverpool host Man City in a game that will play a large part in deciding where the PL title ends up.

The games in full…

  1. Obviously early thoughts as it’s international break. I have two free transfers with one million in the bank. Thinking it might be time to ditch a City player to fund something else.

    A) Martial and Jimenez in for KDB and Connolly
    B) Martial and Maddison in for KDB and Cantwell
    C) Mane in for Sterling and save or something else with extra one million.
    D) Any better ideas?

    • No smash Stirling will come good so will City good fixtures

    • Maybe not jump the gun with city yet? They’re gonna be fired up after that defeat I feel.

But if you do want to make a change I’d get in Mane for Sterling and leave it at that

    • I get the move away from one of the city mids and I would sell Kevin before Raheem, but, there’s always a but, I wouldn’t necessarily do it this next GW. City need to bounce back and while their poor form is evident I think Chelsea are the perfect team for them to do that, because they will probably try to play for a win instead of siting deep and their less experienced players could lead to goals from city. Pool don’t have the best of away games either and you already have Salah. So, perhaps Gazzaniga->Ryan/Pope and do the big moves the week after which will also be the first real one towards the Xmas run in with the midweek game.

    • Thanks I’m not set on selling either. I can do Connolly to Greenwood and Cantwell to Barnes which allows me to keep both.

How has Barnes looked.? When I’ve seen him I always think he should have more points. Mcginn another option

      • How about TAA to fodder and Cantwell to Maddison. Or just a cheap def and get Tielmans?

        • I could do that but surely he gets some returns soon especially with those fixtures

    • Smash they’re all good looking moves imo, if you want to move away from City. Personally I’m not because I think the Chelsea game has 6-3 written all over it, so if it were me I’d be doing something as boring as Cantwell to Hayden and roll the other FT.

      • Yeah think I’m favouring the Barnes move. Will have to keep an eye on price changes but think I should be ok there. Just need to try and go to 3-5-2 or 3-4-3

  2. Top of the morning to you people! Hope everyone’s had a decent weekend and things are settling for the 2 week pause in proceedings! Chanced upon this article in the Independent’s fantasy footy section. It dates from August this year and makes for pretty interesting reading. Just to give us all a ‘methadone’ fix, while waiting for the real thing to reappear!
Cheerio – here’s the link: smile

    • Hey looked on my link and it sends me to a GW version of myself. Feels like an FPL ‘Back to the Future’! Trying to fix it! smile

      • Ah crumbs! I can only take it to GW 12. How do I fix it?

        • I see now – ‘GW History’. Tis updated! Hey with all these comments and replies, it reminds me of that song ‘Dancing with Myself’ (Billy Idol I think!). See you all…………………! smile

    • That was well worth the read AJW.

Particularly the ‘control’ element I thought.

Which is odd when so many seem to lose control over the slightest little thing that goes wrong with their team and lash out and blame the world!

      Thanks for sharing.

      • Maybe it provides us with a little ‘mini-world’ that we can try to control, so if anything doesn’t the way we planned then we’ve got certain strategies to fix it up (like WCs, 2FT, hits & fixture and form analysis!). I dunno but it was kind of interesting to see why we all get into it! I agree with the idea of being part of a community, which is even stronger on this site. So it’s a positive thing to get people together and talking to each other. Anyway Geeps, speak to you later !

        • Of course it it, the community element I mean. Especially here.

        • Too true Marie! Even allows for things like weekend trips to Newcastle to link up with friends! All the best GP. Speak to you soon !

        • Cripes – I meant to say Marie, but my fricking French spellchecker corrected it to Marie! Bollocks GP – didn’t mean it! Frenchie will have a laugh at it I guess as their national rock n roll icon had a song called ‘O Marie’ . (O Marie Si tu savais, tout le mal que l’on m’a fait ‘ – O Marie if only you knew, all the bad things people have to me!) . I’ll stop rambling and maybe quote the Proclaimers next time!

        • Bloody hell it’s done it again!!! Matie not Marie!!

        • Briilliant! :big-lol:

        • Glad you thought so GP – words omitted everywhere! Me typing on my phone without me glasses on! Hope your team is going well. Hey seem to notice that Rosco’s Newcastle team are doing alright atm. My son told me I should check out St Maximin. Apparently he’s a ball-playing genius. Did you see him play when you were there?

        • Yeah he played. He’s a bit ahem, different…..

      • The ‘human hairdo’ you mean?

    • I like it AJW

      • Reading your recent posts apparently you’re doing pretty well atm Leprechaun! Good on you!

    • Thanks AJW really enjoyed that.

  3. who would you keep among those 2 in your team going forward? KDB or sterling?

    • As Hamlet said….’that is the question.’ .

    • Yeah I’m not sure either.

I think Sterling will always score more goals than KDB and if we strip it right back to basics, that’s what it’s all about.

    • Keep Sterling out of those two.

    • cheers all. might be planning kdb to maddi/tielemans and pieters to robbo for gw13

  4. I think I’m in the minority here, but any idea what’s up with Heaton? Or at least when we would have an idea of how bad his injury is?
Idea was to get in Vardy n maybe Maddison for a -4. Now Heaton’s injury has thrown a spanner into the works.

1 FT and 1.8 itb. Dropping like a stone in my ML.
    Thoughts?

    • Don’t panic just yet.

He has two weeks to recover from a calf strain. With Steer going off early yesterday I think Villa will push to have him ready for the return of the PL.

And if so then just PEA to Vardy would do.

      • Thanks for taking control of my thoughts and arranging it in a coherent manner GP smile
        Thanks loads.

  5. Thinking sterling to mane with the intention of captaining him over the next few weeks. Good move?

  6. early thoughts but i’m thinking kun to PEA to go up top with vardy & tammy. fixtures and minutes being played is the main reason
