Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 13

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 13. We’re back to live FPL and fantasy action, finally. You’ve had two full weeks to mull over your key transfer and captain decisions, which is sometimes a good thing, but sometimes not! Whatever you landed on it’s time to see if it was worth the wait and there’s a fair chance that many of your questions will be answered straight away as we begin with a bumper bunch at 3pm with no less than six games going at once. It almost feels nostalgic.

The six said games see Brighton host Leicester with Dunk hoping for 3 in 3, Everton hoping Warnock is in his usual laissez-faire mood, Fulham hoping Ranieri has packed his magic lamp against Hughes’ Saints, Woy hoping that Jose et al get stuck in traffic as usual and finally miss a home game, Watford hoping that Salah doesn’t do a repeat on them and West Ham simply hoping to keep the score down to something respectable against the Pep machine.

The 5.30pm game on Saturday should be a cracker, regardless of any fantasy interest, as Spurs host Chelsea.

Sunday sees us with just the two games as Bournemouth host Arsenal at 1.30pm before Wolves and Huddersfield play out Sky’s premium game of the weekend… yeah, we know #pass

But don’t worry if you fell asleep during that last one as Monday night will be… oh, hang on… Who the hell schedules these TV games?! Go back to sleep, it’s Burnley v Newcastle… #zzzz

The games in full…

We are playing back 3 today to stop BOU… and I have Wilson and Fraser (very bad as a Gunner). I want our team to win 3-2. Hope my wish comes true.

Initially I had Alonso on bench. Then I was suggested not to bench him (quite logical considering his return), so I benched Robo. Before the deadline with pure gut feeling – last minute I benched Arnie (2) and played Alonso (1), Robo (7) in 4-4-2.
Moral of the story: When you are in absolute dilemma, trust your gut (otherwise would have lost 5 points) and if possible the first gut as I would have gained 1 point benching Alonso. smile

Can’t name names obviously as that’d be grossly unfair but they have a lot answer for there!

Rosco you owe GM 1 point 😉

      • GoalMachine says:

I don’t blame Roscoe smile … honestly benching Alonso can always backfire as he provides points in both end of the pitch. So I could not reject his advice. This is the problem when you have more options and selection dilemma. Sometimes less options are good. smile

Also, I had 4 players – Alonso, Arnie, Wilson and Fraser whom I expected to blank….had to select 3 from them and I believed Arnie against City to be least effective. Unfortunately all 4 are blanking – so no impact.

Haha I’ll mail it to him! Now stop bleating! I’m having the worst GW of this season or any other I’ve ever played so your 1 point whining is falling on deaf ears!!

sorry to hear that roscoe! you are ahead of me by 22 points if that makes you feel any better 😉

        • Rosco says:

Haha well that’s something!! This season feels like it’s a repeat of last season where i spent most of it just Bobbing up and down in 100k and ultimately never getting anywhere! Look at those last 5 GWs… it’s all been for nothing!! You have to laugh though! Might make some bold moves in the coming weeks, see if I can break the trend!

defo needs a good shakeup mate! in the last 10 GWs, i only had 1 great week where i brought in salah, captained him and hauled 94 points. on that same week, i retained the 1st spot in my ML and havent lost it since. still a few tweaks needed to do.

To add to the above, doherty was benched twice when he assisted and scored a goal in those 2 GWs. silly things like that and a few other captaincy has costed me around 60 points. at the end of the day its all fun and frustrating at the same time lol.
