Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 14

With barely a moment to catch up or give any real thought to a transfer we are back again as we begin on Saturday and end on Monday with a chance for a quick breather before Boxing Day, but take it while you can as once next Saturday is here we then have a game or more every day on 9 of the next 10 days, spanning multiple GW’s. New Years Eve being the only one sans any action.

On that note we shall give you a quick update on our intentions in regards to publishing articles over this busy period. In short we shall have a bumper Christmas Tips on the 22nd with a Site Team edition on Xmas Eve. Beyond that it will probably just have to be ‘Live Match Chats’ with everybody fending for themselves / helping each other out, as the GW’s do literally seem to fall over each other from one day to the next, allowing us scant opportunity to say anything meaningful in-between. We do intend to post a brief FF247 Site Team update each time but there will be none of the usual Fixtures, Tips, Capos etc as there simply isn’t time or room. Plus we like our writers to have a good rest occasionally too!

GW14 itself begins on Saturday at 12.30 pm and ends on Monday night. The full line-up is in the picture below. Just also bear in mind, to complicate matters even more, that there are midweek Milk Cup games which involve Newcastle, Arsenal, Man City, Spurs, Everton and Man United.

  1. Well the Chilwell injury throws everything up in the air again!

    • And yet another Werner blank (at time of writing) :no:

      Hopefully Chilwell’s not too bad (though I didn’t see it).

  2. Anyone watched the game? What happened på chilwell? Did it look bad? Like out for several weeks bad?

  3. Matip and Cancello for James and Chillwell? Yay or Nay.

    • Yay for Matip not sure on Cancelo.

      • Tornado, Cancelo has been in my team for a while and can’t complain.
        21 points in the last 4 games ain’t that bad.

        • I am not saying he is a bad option, Ivan. I just think there’s too much of competition in that city defense, and if he is looking for someone who’s gonna play every GW (unless injured), I wouldn’t say that Cancelo is the first name to come in mind.

        • That is true Tornado, but that is the risk with the Pep roulette. Every round is a squeaky bum time before the City lineups appear.

    • As long as you have a playing bench defender for Cancelo think it’s ok

      • Yeah sure, I’ll have either KWP or Coufal as backup.

  4. Build squad for gw 18… fh in gw19… use other chips later.

    • That’s certainly an alternative but it leaves you limited in terms of choices.

    • I’m building for 18 and might even be triple captain on Salah for 19. I think you can get the core players for 18 easily enough

      • Agreed, especially if wildcarding.

        I can see the logic of playing the FH in 18 in order to build and enable a BB in 19, but I don’t want to wheel out two chips – three if taking the wildcard into consideration – just yet. Plus GW18 doesn’t look overly thrilling to me.

    • I believe there are very few quality players for the GW18. U’ll be left with dem players after the FH in GW19. Or am I wrong?

      • I’m sure you’re right, Phoenix619, even if you’re wrong.

        Spurs and City players seem ok to me – plus one can be creative with one’s bench for GW18.

        • So much hits will be needed so coming up to gw18

      • Man City, Spurs, Everton, Villa, Newcastle. You can build a pretty decent squad from that to be honest.

        • Wolves and lesser swquads like Arsenal and Palace. I might still be interested in Zaha.

    • So umm the new year wildcard can be placed at any moment? In the past you had to do use the second wildcard immediately right? For the first game.

      • Just log into the main site and click on ‘Help’ and your question is answered very clearly there.

    • Raz. Have the same plan. Have around 8 players for GW18 right now. So, can play 11 till then. Then FH18 with 11 DGWers. And I am thinking of playing 5-4-1 with no rotation defs

  5. Great week then, my defensive line played 9 minutes in total this GW!!! Got Coufal’s 1pnt off the bench, the other def is Mitchell who doesn’t play anymore. Haha! Gotta be a record!!! If someone says it’s not a game of luck then s/he doesn’t know what s/he’s talking about :laugh2:

    Was planning on Bellerin >> Dallas but now Chilwell is injured. Are people holding onto him or selling? If he’s out for more than one game I’d be inclined to sell, but also want to load up my team with DGWers before I use my FH for GW18.

    How about Bellerin >> Dallas and Chilwell >> Dias/Cancelo? Or if it’s not worth the hit I could just move on Chilwell

    • I’m going to hang on and see what the news is before moving him on.

      I may take a punt – god knows why, I never learn – on a City defender. Either that or Matip for one week as I’ll be wildcarding straight after. I’d get TAA if I could afford him.

      • City defender is a risk with pep roulette, unless it’s Ederson not worth the risk
