Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18. The silly season officially begins here. We have no less than 40 games spanning the next 14 days taking in 4 GW’s in total. We can but recommend you stick close to both our Fixture Tracker and our on-site Countdown Timer to keep track of when each GW begins, but as a helpful little ditty to perhaps take a ‘snap of’, the deadlines are as follows (all times are GMT) –

GW18 Friday 21st December 7PM
GW19 Wednesday 26th December 11.30AM
GW20 Saturday 29th December 3PM
GW21 Tuesday 1st January 11.30AM

As for this GW we begin on Friday and end on Sunday with the majority of the games on Saturday for a pleasant change. Wolves and Liverpool kick us off this evening as the current league leaders look to put the pressure on their chasers by extending their overnight lead to 4 points over Man City.

Saturday begins with many an FPL manager sweating over the Arsenal line-up as they play host to an ever increasingly tight Burnley side. Six 3PM kick-offs follow with Bournemouth and Brighton both looking to regain some sort of form, Chelsea hoping to continue their own pursuit against Leicester, Huddersfield look to stop the new beer flowing against the Saints, Man City probably playing catch up against Palace, Newcastle hoping Mitro doesn’t come back to haunt them and West Ham look for 5 wins in a row for who knows how long as they host Watford.

Saturday evening could be intriguing as Cardiff look to take 3 points off fellow strugglers Man United.

Our only game on a barren Sunday is Everton vs Spurs. Harry Kane may not know it but this could be his final rehearsal for many FPL managers, especially if Kun shows up on Saturday.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

  1. Morning Guys, compliments of the season to everyone.

So should I swap Moura -> Lingard or just leave as is ?? & who to captain?

    • Phoenix

You get a feeling that Moura will feature at some point across the next two but I think Lingard will as well.

Tough one. See what others think but because you have Kane anyway, I would be inclined to get the United cover in I think.

    • I’m pretty torn on this one Moura needs to go but he could get the points in the Bournemouth game.

      • Yea I agree he has to go. I have a feeling Pochettino will wanna use SON all of December as he will be away in January.

    • I’d captain Kane. Lingard/Martial/Pogba seem sound picks to me for over the next few weeks (or for as long as the honeymoon period lasts). Spurs in the new year may see the champagne haze settle into normality, but things could flourish after that .

    • How about Anderson to Lingard?

      • Has Lingard done enough for the love he is getting. Hadn’t he just scored 3 all year?

        • Fair question! I don’t know the answer – I generally avoid Man U, just have the impression (from long ago, not just the Cardiff game) that Lingard is the one to go for.

      • Anderson is nailed on to always start

  2. Hearing TAA is fit for boxing day, wether he starts is a different matter.

  3. Happy birthday boss, Init. Have a great day mate, enjoy. Don’t celebrate your birthday all day though, get that boxing day team predictions article done pronto. laugh

  4. Morning guys!
2 FT – 0.9 ITB and WC available
    Any advice pls

    • Play your Palace defenders instead of Fraser and Anderson. Maybe upgrade Digne to Luiz.

  5. Morning all

Did Lacazette to Ings last night, currently have 5.3 ITB to upgrade Torreira to pogba or martial, gut is telling me pogba but martial has been in decent form. Who do you prefer?

I could also do sterling to salah but it would be for a -8.

    Thoughts?

    • Torreira to Pogba/Martial is fine. Going without Salah might hurt but you need Citeh coverage though.

    • Minus 8 rarely pays back. I also have the perception that Leicester can be leaky. No data. Sterling could easily out score Salah. I’d hold.

  6. Happy Xmas everyone.
Another dreadful gameweek for me. Wondering where to go next. 1ft and 1.5 itb was thinking of bringing in Son or Martial?
    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

    • Why don’t you have any Liverpool players?

      • I did but they got injured (mane,TAA) never got round to putting them back in. Should I?

        • I’d suggest Laporte to Robertson at the very least! Avoid Mane, but TAA’s worth getting back too when fit

    • Anyone

    • Hey Kickers I think with Son heading off to the Asia games soon you may be best served going with Martial and hoping the OGS bounce continues.

      • Didn’t realise son was doing that. Cheers gentle.

    • Mitrovic is the one that jumps out. U could switch to a 5 mid by downgrading to Kamara and upgrading Stephens to Martial ?

      • Can do either
        1) richarlison to lingard and Laporte to TAA for hit or
        2) Mitrovic to Kamara and Stephens to martial/Lingard for hit
        3) richarlison to lingard

        Which one?

    • Another thing to consider is ensuring your bench is good enough (and playing) during this busy period. So you may therefore wish to consider Stephens —> Herrera or Peltier —> Lovren.

      • Cheers gentle. Maybe number 2 with the subs in mind then

        • Is 8 point hit a good idea?
          Stephens- martial/lingard
          Mitrovic- Kamara
          Laporte- vandijk/TAA

        • I’d keep laporte

        • What about Alonso to Robertson?

        • Everyone
Laporte or Doherty to Van dijk or Robertson ?

        • I know this isn’t helping kickers but I wouldn’t sell either of those. Alonso to either one of the Liverpool guys n ur sorted.

        • I have done Felipe to Lingard and will be doing Alonso to Jonny next GW. Saw an article somewhere and the writer was saying that Jonny had better attacking stats than Robbo. This is the start of a plan to get Salah & KDB in the next few weeks with Haz to be the sacrificial lamb!
