Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 18.

Remember back when a midweek fixture was an exciting rarity? It is hardly an uncommon occurrence these days and one to which we shall be treated to quite a few more times before the season is up. There are in fact three of these in the next five GW’s and even one of those (DGW19) straddles a midweek.

As for this one it begins on Tuesday at 6pm as Sheffield and Newcaste unite to see who can score the least goals. Then at 8.15pm Burnley host half the games captain in the shape of Bruno. At the same time Wolves welcome Everton.

Wednesday begins at 6pm with the other halves captain (KdB) hosting Brighton. Spurs (now) welcome a reluctant Fulham at 8.15pm.

Arsenal and Palace see us out on Thursday at 8pm.

And don’t forget that once the above GW ends on Thursday evening the next one begins on Saturday and that one is a double so get your planning sorted early doors!

  1. No chips used. Wrong captain picked. Just one goal and one assist in the entire squad. And green arrows! That certainly could’ve gone worse :dance:

    • Nice banjo. I had red arrows at start of day anyway.

      • I did at the start of the day, but Holding and Mitchell (with two bonus points!) sorted me right out

  2. Well that sums it up. The highest scoring player of my FH team (Mitchell – 8) is the one I put on the bench :dash:

    • Happens to the best of us, Otieno – and, sadly, the worst as well.

      • Still hoping for a small green though which should take me below 200k which is the best I’ve been in the 4 seasons I’ve been playing

        • Yeah, sounds good. Slow and steady and there’s plenty of time to go.

    • I put him last on mine – I was expecting goals after their decent run of games :unknw: . But the CS for Leno is welcome smile .

  4. Arsenal owe me 15 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back. I say 15 mins as that’s all I could stand. At least it reminded me why I’ve not watched them live for about 3 years.

    • Just put your clock back 15 minutes. Works a treat. Reset it in the morning.

      • Wolves v Everton was an entertaining game. That one really wasn’t. At least in the former you could appreciate what both managers were trying to achieve, albeit from a chess like tactical POV., and at least they managed 3 goals between them, with barely a forward worthy of the name on the pitch. Arsenal had forwards who they pay north of half a million a week to out there tonight and I barely even noticed that any of them were playing.

        • To be honest only watched the last 25 mins, Tierney was a massive loss tonight he’s the one that creates most of the chances, end of the day Everton should be finishing Top 6/4 this season got a decent manager Zero excuses really if you don’t

        • If a team relies on a FB to create most of the chances there’s probably a wider issue at play! They should buy a creative mid, someone like Ozil perhaps? :rofl:

        • Ozil is deadwood now, talking of Full backs who has the most assists this season for Everton Digne isn’t it? Ha, James ain’t assisted or scored since the Merseyside Derby back in October in the league

    Don’t love the fact we don’t know who of Villa has Covid.
    It’s for a -8

    That wud have 11 dgw plus 3 Leeds n 1 Southampton n bench boost. Have only 0.2 play on price changes on that.

    • That’s all right, shame you have to take a -8. But you should absorb it given the (theoretical) volume of games. And you’re upgrading or rather improving within the low-budget end of things.

      Antonio is very tempting. I was going to move Wilson on for him but of course Wilson now has a double.

    • 53 here, FH used.

    • I never bother checking until the following morning after a GW, he said unhelpfully.

      Somewhere in the 40s I think. Mid 40s perhaps. No chip. So if we were in the cup you’d have whooped my ass. Congratulations.

      • Top score Banjo. What’s your team like for DGW19. Or is this a chip week next?

        • Sorry but 23:09 is way past my bedtime these days! I’ve got 9 doublers, including KdB, Bruno & Mo – and one FT, so I’ll be saving any chips for another time.

    • 46 on FH, and all of my CS sitting on my bench. As per usual……. My initial FH draft is on ~58-60. Well done other me, well done.

    • Considering the facts: -8 hit (which was a failure), captaincy blank, 8 players on the pitch and knocked out from the cup, I think I am okay with my total score of 36.
      After all that, I really hope I will manage to use my precious FH successfully!

      • When the sunny springtime comes along and you play your FH , others will reconsider their stupidity of frittering it away on a cold winters night
