Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2.
If you made it from GW1 to GW2 then that probably either means you scored well in GW1 and are still full of beans having done so or that you are simply a proper FPL player and know that you will make it to GW38 regardless. Either way GW2 is upon us so let’s go see how the weekend pans out…
Arsenal’s reserve team got off to a good start with 3 points away at Newcastle and they clash in the days early game with a bouyant Burnley side who beat Southampton 3-0 in their own first game.
3pm sees us with five games but with the exception of Liverpool it’s a list of the ‘also-rans’ again. There’s definitely a pattern developing here… Villa host Bournemouth with both looking for their first win, Everton host Watford with both looking for their first win, Norwich host Newcastle with both looking for their first win, Brighton host West Ham with both looking for their first win, (oh hang on, Brighton won?!) West ham looking for their first win. Southampton host Liverpool and of course the hosts are looking for their first win. They’ll still be looking next week too.
The evening game is argueably the first big clash of the titans this season as Man City host Spurs.
Sunday sees Sheffield United and Palace get us going at 2pm, with both teams looking for their first win. That is followed at 4.30pm by Chelsea and Leicester, with… yeah, you guessed it, both teams looking for their first win!
We go to Monday this time too as Wolves host Man United in a mouth watering clash.
The games in full…

2ft half thinking OUT Fraser, perez, Wilson
IN Ceballos, kdb, pukki. A bit of a drastic move?
I’m thinking the same. Let’s see how perez gets on today and the kdb move could wait a week.
I’m also thinking of shifting down a pool defender and upgrading Wilson to Kane
I have same team and those moves have crossed my mind but may downgrade Robbo and keep Perez
I’m thinking similar, Smash. Depending on Digne’s fitness, Robertson might become a real cheapy.
Robbo was unlucky not to score yesterday. The keeper made a great save.
Yeah it’s more the no clean sheets so far. Need the cash really for me rather than wanting to get rid
Yep. Concerned about the next one!
Sheff Utd vs Palace
BBC say Sharp’s on the bench (as opposed to not in the squad).
Cheers, Cookie. Lundstram starts in midfield again!
Yeah seems to be another mistake I’ve made by going with Rico
Remind me why I convinced myself Rico was the 4m man to plump for?
It just got worse
Woohoo!
Thinking of options to aim for moving forward. Now Mane is back and the Liv defense not firing is Mane and Salah a good option. KBD looks good and Sterling. Probably 3 of those 4 or all 4 with compromises elsewhere! There also Kane. Perhaps Mane Sterling KBD and Kane is workable without damaging the rest of the team. No Salah is dangerous with the ownership, but if Mane returns and Salah doesn’t next GW, I would expect a big shift in ownership. Some rambling feel free to comment.
It’s good rambling. I have Sterling and Salah and two LIV defs. It’s tempting to downgrade the LIV assets. But also comes with risks. But it’s risky not having KdB and Kane.
It’s cool to ramble. I have similar thoughts pinging round my head.
I’m keeping Kane out of my calculations becuase that probably is a wild card for me – too much shifting of the furniture plus Sterling and Salah is enough premium ass in my side.
Mids I’m thinking about are KdB, Moura (if I feel he’ll play of course) – and, I hope, one or two Chelsea players may swim into view later (or sink completely).
I was half thinking of turning to Brighton for enablers but then saw their fixtures and blanched a bit. So am looking at Ings and Chic – neither of whom seem that reliable in terms of minutes – to help me there. They would enable Fraser – KdB and Wilson to Ings, for example. That’s vaguely where I am. I like the look of Barnes but want to wait until their fixture turbulence settles.
Nothing further to add to the discourse other than “premium ass” made me giggle 😉
For me the CHE assets were “wait and see” at the beginning of the season, then became “hell no” after the ManU game then reverted to “wait and see” after the Super Cup.
What a week. There are 22 players on the pitch and the only one getting a yellow is the one in my team. Haha. :hippo:
Lundstram scores. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waiting for Var… haha.
I brought this guy in for a hit… haha… already paid off.
What on earth 😆
AT, I figured you know. It’s Advanced Thinking (AT)… :hippo:
Know = knew
No, I had a very good score in the first gameweek… I figured I could take a risk or two… and play how I like. Replaced Zischenko and Barkley with Lundrstom and Martial.
Agonising when it’s a rubbish week and your 4m defender scores and is on your bench…
I feel your pain
Think I read some questions about Zinchenko or Lundstram a few days ago. No love for Lunstram. I bottled the selection and left the wrong one on the bench.
Would love Pérez or Jota not to play…
