Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2.
If you made it from GW1 to GW2 then that probably either means you scored well in GW1 and are still full of beans having done so or that you are simply a proper FPL player and know that you will make it to GW38 regardless. Either way GW2 is upon us so let’s go see how the weekend pans out…
Arsenal’s reserve team got off to a good start with 3 points away at Newcastle and they clash in the days early game with a bouyant Burnley side who beat Southampton 3-0 in their own first game.
3pm sees us with five games but with the exception of Liverpool it’s a list of the ‘also-rans’ again. There’s definitely a pattern developing here… Villa host Bournemouth with both looking for their first win, Everton host Watford with both looking for their first win, Norwich host Newcastle with both looking for their first win, Brighton host West Ham with both looking for their first win, (oh hang on, Brighton won?!) West ham looking for their first win. Southampton host Liverpool and of course the hosts are looking for their first win. They’ll still be looking next week too.
The evening game is argueably the first big clash of the titans this season as Man City host Spurs.
Sunday sees Sheffield United and Palace get us going at 2pm, with both teams looking for their first win. That is followed at 4.30pm by Chelsea and Leicester, with… yeah, you guessed it, both teams looking for their first win!
We go to Monday this time too as Wolves host Man United in a mouth watering clash.
The games in full…

Keep trying to get KDB and Ceballos in my team but it isn’t easy! Should I forget KDB and switch Dendonker, Tielemans and King to Ceballos, Martial and Greenwood?
That sounds a bit forced.
Maybe plan a long-term swoop and downgrade one of your goalies to a 4m option?
Tielemans looked great today Igy4 – I’d be looking to buy him, not sell…
Thanks DMC. Great as in close to a goal or assist? My only thoughts are that he hasn’t delivered so far fantasy wise whereas both KDB and Ceballos are and will probably continue to. With that comes the headache of getting them in later when their prices are much higher. I had Tielemans for a while last season and he was great so it’s a hard decision!
Great as in close to goals and assists. Had Leicester (and him) been more clinical and they would’ve won this game. Granted they won’t play Chelsea every week but yeah I liked the look of him. Great passing ability and a consistent shot. If you need to sell him to get KdB then yeah it’s hard to argue against that but not for your intended moves imo.
Is kdb gonna rise soon?
98.7 on fpl stats so maybe/quite likely tonight although don’t think they 100% yet as early season and still sorting algorithms out I expect
Only way I can get Sterling in is to take out Salah, already have KDB though.
Or I’d have to make about 4 transfers/WC to get him in.
Then chill, don’t rush, make a sensible plan – and remember that no-one is a ‘must have’.
Except Lundstram.
Ended up doing Perez to Ceballos last night…
Cheers all for comments on previous post! Kralin and GentleBen, both your advice on KDB was sound and most likely what I should’ve thought of and done …although unfortunately I got trigger happy before I saw it and made the moves I mentioned… plus KDB would’ve meant extra hit and losing Salah….is what it is now and will try and plan getting him in soon!
….So , not great timing but, final part of my 3 move plan looks like it’s happening tonight…Martial in for Fraser for -4 as looks to be dropping price tonight … if anyone wants to give me the thumbs up, tell me I’m a point-chasing numpty or recommend anything else, please feel free
P.s if wanna ease my upcoming benching headache please do so … currently thinking VVD on bench as think Arsenal may get at least 1 goal and TAA and Ceballos more likely to get an assist or something!?
Cheers
Or ….For those without the time or patience to read the warblings of a confused fpl fan ….
Fraser to Martial…yes or no?!
If you have nothing more pressing I would say yes.
Maybe see how he is tomorrow night if you can.
Martial hatty incoming. :hippo:
Cliche incoming.
If I was offered 140 points after two weeks I’d have gladly taken it.
Well done everyone with similar or better. :good:
You’re Scottish man. Be proud.
Always Raz
Indeed. People tend to forget this ends in May and we are in August! 130 pts here and while I’m not cheering, I’m certainly not rushing things out.
I’m on about -75, enjoying the worst start I’ve had for a few seasons, and then some; and I’m not weeping, just a rueful grin and I’m certainly not in the least concerned yet. I haven’t chased TV for many seasons now so am relatively relaxed about the way things have panned out (the (understandable)Pukki surge, etc). In the main I like to give players about three weeks before jettisoning them. My Bournemouth personnel were there to see out the first fortnight, however, and Wilson has actually returned a few points. King owners must be relaxed as well. Fraser is the player I’m glaring at but I daresay if I had him in until GW10 he would have returned a bit by then.
Having said that, I will utter a small prayer if I somehow keep up with the average this week (highly unlikely unless Wolves win to nil).
DMC / Kralin
Excellent. Exactly the attitude I think is needed. Unsurprisingly from two of the most prominent sage old owls of the community.
Yep, it’s a long (and winding) road
