Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2.
If you made it from GW1 to GW2 then that probably either means you scored well in GW1 and are still full of beans having done so or that you are simply a proper FPL player and know that you will make it to GW38 regardless. Either way GW2 is upon us so let’s go see how the weekend pans out…

Arsenal’s reserve team got off to a good start with 3 points away at Newcastle and they clash in the days early game with a bouyant Burnley side who beat Southampton 3-0 in their own first game.

3pm sees us with five games but with the exception of Liverpool it’s a list of the ‘also-rans’ again. There’s definitely a pattern developing here… Villa host Bournemouth with both looking for their first win, Everton host Watford with both looking for their first win, Norwich host Newcastle with both looking for their first win, Brighton host West Ham with both looking for their first win, (oh hang on, Brighton won?!) West ham looking for their first win. Southampton host Liverpool and of course the hosts are looking for their first win. They’ll still be looking next week too.

The evening game is argueably the first big clash of the titans this season as Man City host Spurs.

Sunday sees Sheffield United and Palace get us going at 2pm, with both teams looking for their first win. That is followed at 4.30pm by Chelsea and Leicester, with… yeah, you guessed it, both teams looking for their first win!

We go to Monday this time too as Wolves host Man United in a mouth watering clash.

The games in full…

Wilson goal. Shit. Bournemouth players stepping up. Villa defense is a nightmare.

And this is why Pool paid so much for Allison! Adrian is trying to give Southampton a goal! 😯

    Mane… such a great strike!

      Hi Pancho,

Don’t think we’ve chatted yet this season. How are you mate?

Yeah that was a fine goal from Mane and totally typifies the fact that when you’re on top (Southampton) you have to take your chances.

How you feeling about Spurs this season?

      • Pancho says:

Hey GP, life’s good. Moved over to Seattle a few weeks ago so it’s been a crazy summer! Still getting settled in but enjoying the change.

FPL wise, I am excited already this season as I don’t think teams will be so template. A bunch of big hitters already performing: Salah-Sterling-Kane-Auba. Now Mane scores and Kun will start scoring too. A healthy KDB is also a great option. Should be a fun season!

I think with Spurs it’s important to keep Eriksen. Even if we lose him on a free next summer we need him for the CL and to make a run at closing the gap with Pool and ManC. If Kane stays fit, we keep Eriksen, and the new boys can step right in then I think we can push at the top.

        • I’m pleased to hear you’re enjoying your move. When I paid more attention to MLS I used to follow Sounders’ results. Good job.

I’ve said for a couple of years now that with rotation among other things, FPL is getting harder (and I think better) each season. The template is breaking up and there is huge value for money out there – take a look at Pukki for example – and we need to go find it. Exciting!

Best of luck to Spurs – never had any particular ill-feeling towards them (and I have Harry Kane from the off this season!)

    What’s Salah playing like?
    How is Wilson doing?
I’m not in so cannot watch anything.
