Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 21. If you made it this far without missing a deadline give yourself a pat on the back. And if you think you’re tired just imagine how the players are feeling! This is the last GW in the marathon Christmas period though, so you them and us all can breathe a sigh of relief and take a break for a week or so to recover.

New Year’s Day itself has a disappointingly low number of fixtures with just three games this year, for some bizarre reason. Everton and Leicester kick us off at lunchtime before Arsenal and Fulham play the solitary ‘traditional’ 3pm game on their lonesome. Cardiff and Spurs bring up the rear at 5.30pm.

We then skip to Wednesday evening for the bulk of this week’s action with 6 games in total. The remaining one is on Thursday night and should in theory be the game of the week, if not the whole Christmas period, or indeed the season. If only they all had any legs left… Oh, it’s Man City vs Liverpool by the way. Cracking time to play what may be a season decider that isn’t it?!

If you enter and win a prize you have to have commented on the site at least 5 times for 8 consecutive months between August 2018 and March 2019 or you will not be considered for a prize. That’s basically 1 comment a week all season, we think that’s a reasonable ask to be considered a ‘regular’.

  1. Salah is on fire right now, and if nothing happens he’ll be the top scoring player in fpl again. He is also the most expencive one….

    Here’s my team, the players taken out is auba, fraser and alonso. This is the best way for me to ger salah i think.

    The thing is I’ll be taking out auba, the top scoring forward right now. And alonso, the top scoring defender after tonight (probably).

    I do wan’t salah in, but do I wan’t him at any cost? Does he make up for the points that digne and kamara do not take. What would you do?

    • I keep asking myself the same question Alan. If I would to get Salah back the only way is to sacrifice Auba. You can easily play 3-5-2 with your team but I can’t. I have to look for a striker like Wilson/Jiminez/Mitro. Still can’t decide if it is a smart move or not.

      • I got another option. But with this have only one sub. But it might be worth it? Every now and again i would only have like 10 playing players i guess and would have to play the budget players even if they have shitty fixtures. This is the idiots way of playing fpl i guess….

        The first option has 1,0 itb, this has nada…

        • Nah, the first one is much better.
          If you have 1.0 ITB and you are prepared to downgrade Robertson you might be able to get Wilson or Arnie and not worry much about Kamara.

        • So many downgrades for one player… He can’t be worth it!

          … or can he?

        • I don’t know. I did an experiment with my WC during the last IB for pool free team and didn’t work out well.
          That leaves us with the same question. Is he worth all the trouble.

    • I would do it – the first draft you are showing. At least if you have 2FT, so that it is for a -4.
      I would sacrifice Alonso without a thought. And you will have an excellent top 6, Kamara would not play anyway.

  2. Had a decent start to this gw but looking for advice for my team going forward. 2FT 0.1m itb

    • Son will leave to the Asian games, so sell him for Pogba or perhaps Salah with 2FTs by downgrading either Kane or Auba (I’d downgrade Kane)!

      Something like that anyway smile

  3. What would you do here with 2FTs? Get Salah in somehow for Kane is what I’m thinking, Spurs won’t be as good with Son gone to the Asian Games plus Kane has United next, could be a tough match, plus anyway Salah is better than Kane… ?

    • You could downgrade Alonso to Luiz/Azpi’ to make the money for Kane -> ? and ? -> Salah. That’d be a 4ph though. Depends who you’re planning to sacrifice in your midfield for Salah, presumably Deulof’?

      • Yeah Deulo would be ideal although he’s the cheapest and I’m growing in frustration towards Richarlison smile

    • I think that O would sacrifice Auba instead of Kane (Chelsea and City in the next four games).
      I am not certain that teh Suprs will loose their momentum even with Son out…

      • Auba is cheaper and has scored more points though, what’s the argument for keeping Kane (other than fear of losing and Kane’s history/status)?

        • Well, Spurs have scored 4, 5, and 6 in 3 of their last 4 games!
          Ironically, I own Auba, and not Kane! But I am very tensed each time Tottenham is playing. They look more consistant to me than Arsenal…
          So I was starting to wonder how I could do Auba to Kane, especially yo get Spurs coverage after Son’s departure….

    • They key is what value you are selling Kane for? I don’t suppose you could do Kane -> Mitro and Martial -> Salah to avoid a hit.

  4. I wish Rich would hurry up and drop in price. I want to swap him back for Lingard and then I can set and forget the team until GW26 whilst I’m on holiday

    • Check in with someone on here, they can look after your team for you. Horse is in deepest Africa at the moment, i think its Smash thats looking after his team for him.
