Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 21

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 21. If you made it this far without missing a deadline give yourself a pat on the back. And if you think you’re tired just imagine how the players are feeling! This is the last GW in the marathon Christmas period though, so you them and us all can breathe a sigh of relief and take a break for a week or so to recover.

New Year’s Day itself has a disappointingly low number of fixtures with just three games this year, for some bizarre reason. Everton and Leicester kick us off at lunchtime before Arsenal and Fulham play the solitary ‘traditional’ 3pm game on their lonesome. Cardiff and Spurs bring up the rear at 5.30pm.

We then skip to Wednesday evening for the bulk of this week’s action with 6 games in total. The remaining one is on Thursday night and should in theory be the game of the week, if not the whole Christmas period, or indeed the season. If only they all had any legs left… Oh, it’s Man City vs Liverpool by the way. Cracking time to play what may be a season decider that isn’t it?!

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 21 from all at FF247!

I’m thinking the way forward with strikers is to have Kun, Kane + Kamara and stick with them for the foreseeable. Doesn’t leave a lit of dosh for owt else though.

Pretty difficult to own Hazard & Salah as well though. Realistically 3 of those 4 is the maximum, to keep the balance elsewhere. Pretty tough to know which are the right 3 though.

I’ll probably stick with Kane, who tends to play and generally brings home the bacon. I can’t get an expensive second striker due to owning Salah, and obviously don’t want to drop him.

So it’s juggling the best of the rest for me, the Pogbas, Andersons, Jiminez’, et al. I’m relatively happy with that, and seem to be doing ok, yet the ballache of skating on the thin ice of no City players, or skating on the thin ice of owning City players, is never far away.

    2FT, 0itb. Don’t think there’s much needing done.

Plan to bring TAA & Jimenez in for Luiz & Deeney over the next couple of weeks but don’t want to this week.

Will obviously wait for injuries etc. but anything that stands out? Ditch Fabianski maybe?

Nice looking team. Think I may start Trippier: Man U are still leaky.

It’s where I want to be: just addressing the periphery, leaving the rest to quietly get on with itself.

Fab’s probably worth keeping, though I know he’s been a disappointment, relatively. None of the other cheapos (I have Patricio, who’s been so-so) seem worth swapping him for, yet.

      • EBC says:

Thanks. Just did my wildcard so in a pretty good place.

Etheridge & Patricio (although more from next week in Pat’s case) are the 2 on my watchlist.

Quite close on who to play in defence, I can see Digne & Trippier conceding.

        • Kralin says:

Yes: I have to hope Mahrez takes a penalty next week v Patricio.

Etheridge not a bad call, Cardiff’s 5 clean sheets = Man U and Arsenal’s combined total so far, oddly.

        • EBC says:

Assuming all else is ok in 10 days time I reckon it could be Etheridge in.

Fabianski is annoying me. Racks up saves but very hard to predict the clean sheets.

Pretty darn good rank history there EBC! Never looked before, I rarely do, only did so to ascertain when you played the WC. You should award yourself with a grav for that smile

      • EBC says:

        Thanks – not bad yourself.

Found myself not watching much football over the last couple of years so thought this year would be a bit slow. Getting there now though.

Finally I seem to be making some progress. Since GW 8 I’ve been almost constant red arrows but hoping for a better 2019. Took an 8 point hit for Kane and Pogba this week. The first half of that worked out nicely

    Hi all,
Just thinking ahead for the next GW.
Have 2FT and contemplating on what I should perhaps looKing into.
Ideally am thinking of getting Lingard out for Pogba. Son to be swapped out after United game so there could be an option for that now.
Little bit disappointed with Richarlison performance lately but for his price range it’s hard to let him go perhaps.

Any advise would be great, cheers

      Kralin says:

I’m going to stick with Richarlison for now, not overly worried yet.

Salah is a thought for when the time to move Son on happens, which is soon, though Kane or Auba will need to make way. The Pog will keep rising in price I’d imagine, with attendant high ownership, and will keep playing and getting points too, so not a bad idea to absorb him. But one of your premium strikers will have to make way to fund this largesse. I would lend you the 5m if I had it.

But if you’re happy without Salah (maybe in the context of your ML it doesn’t matter) then Son to Pog once Son has zoomed off?

      • Grizzly13ear says:

Yea been thinking about that, Pogba is looking super solid. I would love to get Salah back into my team but PEA and Kane are doing fine work atm to remove one of them tbh. decisions xD

Only 33 points with Auba (C) while could have had Kane but we can’t be perfect. Hoping for another cheeky goal from Boly vs Palace and assist again from Luiz will be wonderful. Time for Fab to get a CS but won’t be surprised if Dunk, who is last on my bench, sneaks one. Martial and Lingard should bring something, unless Pogba has his way once again. The biggest hope is for a massive Arnie comeback to award me, being the early bird. Eh, dreams…. 🙂
