Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 21. If you made it this far without missing a deadline give yourself a pat on the back. And if you think you’re tired just imagine how the players are feeling! This is the last GW in the marathon Christmas period though, so you them and us all can breathe a sigh of relief and take a break for a week or so to recover.
New Year’s Day itself has a disappointingly low number of fixtures with just three games this year, for some bizarre reason. Everton and Leicester kick us off at lunchtime before Arsenal and Fulham play the solitary ‘traditional’ 3pm game on their lonesome. Cardiff and Spurs bring up the rear at 5.30pm.
We then skip to Wednesday evening for the bulk of this week’s action with 6 games in total. The remaining one is on Thursday night and should in theory be the game of the week, if not the whole Christmas period, or indeed the season. If only they all had any legs left… Oh, it’s Man City vs Liverpool by the way. Cracking time to play what may be a season decider that isn’t it?!

That’s basically 1 comment a week all season, we think that’s a reasonable ask to be considered a ‘regular’.

Did Son to Pogba as I thought there was a chance Son would be rested in favor of Moura. Painful…
Mistake Pancho, Poch wants to get as much as possible out of him before he leaves.
Well Pogba’s double digit hauls killed me the last 3 weeks. It was a transfer that was going to happen when Son left anyway, so I played the odds and took a risk that Son would be rotated.
Whyyy? Makes no sense as Poch will start him in every game especially because he will be leaving in 2 GWs… anyway lets hope Pogba also fires vs NEWC – will not be as easy as Cardiff though.
Ole giving Pog his head was brilliant imo.

Gw17 – I was at 15k and In 4 GWs rank dropped to 55k (Courtesy SON and POGBA) – its changing so rapidly.
Poch has switched the position of Kane and Son (more advanced than Kane) this season. But is it working? Son is getting more chances than Kane and finishing – but I feel Kane is a much better finisher.
Well, you just need to have a look at Spurs’ results since Son is playing and you can see it’s working.
Not really – what I meant is that SPURS has not been great till now against tough def. – its only last few matches against weaker opposition they have improved. Between Son and Kane – I still believe Son is a better creator and Kane is a better finisher. But Kane is playing deeper and creating – trying to understand the thought behind it.
None will say, UTD has been good this season (before OGS took over)? But they scored 40G in 20 matches and Spurs 43G in 20 matches – no diff. The shots stats are also the same. Spurs performance got over-hyped, because a large chunk of all those goals are by Son and they conceded less. In best form of Spurs, generally goals get equally distributed between all 4 attacker of Spurs and def. look tighter.
I’m not sure to understand your point.
I see it the opposite way actually. Tottenham was struggling to score until Son started playing upfront, and then they couldn’t stop scoring. In the recent games where they struggled (Burnley), Son wasn’t playing.
To be fair it’s also when Eriksen came back. These 2 players made a big difference.

My key to success in H2H is that I never look at it and at the opposition team.

Putting Son into my team in Gw16 is my best move all season ! Just wish i’d been brave enough to give him the armband !
I can’t agree more as I missed all those points of never putting him in my team.
One of my big regrets, I love owing him, I’ll be earmarking a spot for when he comes back next month!

Brooky, depending on how far South Korea progresses but whatever happens he should be back for 2nd of February which is Newcastle at home 🙂
