Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23. We’re back for a quick ‘two dayer’ before being rudely interrupted again by the FA Cup next weekend. Wolves and Leicester kick us off on Saturday in the early game before we get going properly with no less than six 3pm games. Mid-table obscurity leads the way as Bournemouth welcome West Ham, Saints play Everton and Watford host Burnley. Further down the table there is at least some interest as Newcastle and Cardiff have a potential six pointer. Man United will be hoping that mid-table is but a distant nightmare when they play Brighton and then the big one, in terms of title importance anyway, is Liverpool hosting Palace.

The battle for 3rd, 4th or 5th heats up on Saturday evening as Arsenal and Chelsea clash.

Sunday begins with Huddersfield, and their ‘score-keeper’ checking that he has the numbers 8 & 9 in his bag, as Man City come to town. The Fulham bloke may as well be diligent too, ahead of Spurs visiting at 4pm. Stranger things have happened…

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 23 from all at FF247!

Hello friends. Do we have any idea on the DGW and BGW candidates as of now? On WC, so will plan accordingly. Thanks

I don’t think it’s possible to plan for everything now as it’s too soon and there are too many unknown quantities.

Let’s look at what we do know, we have a BGW in GW27, we’ll know by the end of this week who is def out but we can safely assume that City and Everton will blank and one of Spurs and Chelsea. So first thing Is to ensure that you don’t have too many of these players that you can’t cover them or transfer them out.

Next up we know that Liverpool do not blank so I’d have 3 of them, it’s also likely Leicester will not blank so I’d aim to start bringing in a few of their players when their fixtures turn in GW27.

As for the doubles I’d probably plan to use your FH in DGW32 and then once we know who’ll play in the second double you can start building your team using your transfers.

+ 1 rosco. which week do you normally activate your 2nd wildcard? i had a torrid time last year doing it as early as GW22.

        • Rosco says:

The current consensus would be as follows:

Use free transfers up to BGW27

          Same again for BGW31

          Free hit in DGW 32

Back to regular team for BGW33

          Wildcard in 34

          Benchboost im DGW35

Then use TC in a potential third smaller DGW in an as yet unconfirmed third DGW

thank you rosco. i am sure this will be repeated several times as the weeks go by. very thorough and detailed. something ill ponder about.

      • constantine says:

Cheers Rosco. That’s a very comprehensive reply mate. Understood the situtation. I’ll bookmark this conversation (page) for my future references. Hope the WC brings back the joyful days for me. Also, sorry for the below comment. Of course you are here 😉

        • eresh12 says:

+ 1. rosco is everywhere. i think the admin/creators have like a notification setup whenever a user types his or her nickname in the comments board

        • Rosco says:

Haha I wish we did… maybe one for Floydeth … 😉

        • eresh12 says:

haha. hope i dont get in trouble for this above remark.

i think if you guys did an iphone/android app, it would be the best. did you ever had any interest from a developer/engineer wanting to develop a ff247 app?

        • Rosco says:

I’ll leave this one for others to comment!

        • inittowinit says:

What would be the point / difference to how you can view the site on a mobile already?

        • eresh12 says:

hey init. wouldnt say there is a major difference but i tend to find apps respond better when it comes to user traffic over a browser on my smarthpone.

plus there is also the ability to customizing your own UI and perhaps have a pop-up chatbox section on live GWs etc. i love the website as it is but would be cool if someone did make an app for it in the future.

        • inittowinit says:

I don’t mean to sound like I’m arguing against it, it’s a good discussion, I’m just intrigued as to what the actual difference is, rather than the perception of a difference.

I take the FPL site as a prime example myself; the app is the same thing as the mobile version but reorganised in a slightly different fashion. I tried the app and ditched it after 2 tries as I couldn’t see the point.

I’d see the point if a website isn’t mobile optimised as it’s a whole different layout to a desktop view but once a site is mobile optimised it’s basically an app in all but name.

        • eresh12 says:

you make a very good case there innit. i guess it comes down to user habits at the end of the day.

was there a genuine interest from majority users about having like a real time chat application on the site (similar to what you see on youtube live or common streaming sites). if there is an interest, im sure it would be a hit.

        • inittowinit says:

Live chat is a different matter altogether. Without getting in to the minutiae of it you can’t have an internal live (rolling) chat that allows the ability to post pictures on it. And trust me, we tried to. If anyone can show me an example of one that actually works then I’d be more than appreciative.

Scout is your best example of a rolling chat alternative to what we have; but you can’t post pics on there. I.e team pics. It’s one thing or the other and we like the pics option. It also sort of slows the chat down a bit too. Which may seem counterintuitive on the face of it but it does mean you get a better quality of chat, generally speaking, rather than a series of quick fire one liners.

There are external plug ins you can get that do both but every one we have looked at acts exactly as that; ‘external’. They sit on the site but aren’t really a part of it and aren’t a part of your latest article, if that makes sense.

I could write a book on the topic! Some may say I almost just did smile

        • eresh12 says:

Thanks Init for this detailed discussion and history, It is good to know you guys looked at quite few options. Honestly there aren’t many good rolling chat options out there with pics. I did come across one on a NSFW site (Wrestlemania Live Stream) last year with options to add pictures but the maximum load it took was 20000 before it got slow, unresponsive and made the live stream cut out lol.

10 players- 26 points. Captain -20 points. Shows the importance of a right captain choice really.

Rosco, if you are there, what are your views on Schar? Can plan him as a 3rd def option after the Spurs game.

Clawed a few points back on my ML leader but honestly don’t hold out much hope of beating him. Never have. Even one year when I finished at 5k. He’s got a good record
