Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23. We’ve gone from feast to famine in terms of a hectic Christmas and NY period to the lull of FA Cup weekend. However we return to normality this week – a 3-day gameweek! We kick off with six 3pm matches – Danny Drinkwater gets a chance to show his old employers how far he has come as he watches Chelsea host Leicester. From the bench presumably. Palace welcome Burnley, West Ham go to Huddersfield, basement dwellers Swansea travel to Newcastle, Watford and Saints meet at Vicarage Road and Lord Pardew looks to continue West Brom’s brilliant run as they host Brighton. The evening match sees bus driver Big Sam drive down to Spurs.

Sunday sees two matches – first up is Wilshere’s journey back to his best days as Arsenal go to Bournemouth before the highlight of the gameweek as Raheem is another to make a return as Man City take the short trip across to Liverpool.

Our gameweek concludes with a Monday night special as under fire Mark Hughes continues the themes of returns as he takes his relegation threatened Stoke lot to Man United.

Just checked and I’m 17 points behind in the cup. He’s all out, I have DDG so by a rough calculation I reckon this is doable if he keeps a clean sheet, gets all 3 bonus and makes 27 saves smile Or scores a couple.

Miracles do happen, Init! (Like the Vikings last gasp TD last night to get them a huge step closer to the Super Bowl. I don’t really watch American Football except the playoffs maybe but I live in Minneapolis and that was some crazy-ass shiz last night!!)

        • FC Sanchez says:

          Ok, bad example!

        • inittowinit says:

Not really mate, I heard all about that on the radio today. One of our shows has an NFL section. And a lot of us usually play NFL fantasy. Usually. Sore subject this year that. Still not forgiven Mito!

I had no idea you were in Minneapolis. You’re not from there are you?

        • FC Sanchez says:

No kidding. Seems Mito has that effect on people! Not from Minneapolis (or the US) but moved here in 2008 (originally from Japan) for grad school and lived here ever since (bar 2 years in middle-of-nowhere Pennsylvania). If you can get over the long winters which often get down to -20*C, the purple city (Prince was from here) is actually a decent place to live. Wife and I love it here.

Damn, Pogba is lit af! Hope Lingard gets on the scoreboard as well!

        • inittowinit says:

That makes more sense then, I always had Japan in my mind when I spoke to you but just always assumed you were still there! Always had you and Bry associated in my mind in some way. He’s a Yorkshireman but lives in Japan.

        • FC Sanchez says:

Yeah, haven’t had the chance to speak to Bryan Munich yet but gathered that from his articles. Was in Tokyo for a couple weeks this Xmas actually and had a blast. I try to return once or twice every year to see family. Highly recommend visiting if you get the chance! Food, shopping, old culture, futuristic stuff, night life, its got it all in spades!

        • inittowinit says:

Would defo be on my list mate if I was still single but the kids won’t go anywhere if it doesn’t involve a waterpark! I’m sure you have them too but I mean like a waterpark every single day smile

        • FC Sanchez says:

Haha!! Don’t have kids yet but can imagine!

        • DMC says:

Funny that. I always thought you were from Jamaica. Well, surely not a Japanese living in Minneapolis. What do we known though, the world is so small.

      • Eagle says:

Good luck Innit. You’ve made it this far in the cup.

    • 169.3

      Thank you Sanchez.

DDG and Lingard to round off a decent week. Let’s do it fellas.

Am I the only one hoping it’s 2-1 to stoke with pogba been the 1?

Where should I be going with this lot? Last week Alonso seemed a must have, so the plan was Christensen & Son to Alonso & Lingard. But it seems a little crazy to ditch Son on the form he’s in? I’ve got 0.3 ITB and 1 FT.

      Frenchie says:

Cahill being injured, Christensen should start this time, so I would save the FT and keep it like this.

    • 172.2

      Banjo

If wildcarding that probably would be my starting front seven.

Leave that transfer and see if anything becomes more apparent for the following week. If not, then a couple of defensive tidy-ups maybe.

      Nothing urgent needed.

      • banjomaker says:

Thanks guys. If I want Alonso I’m gonna need to lose one of the decent mids. I’ll leave as is and see if an injury forces anything.

        • inittowinit says:

Banjo I’d leave that be for this week. Son looked awesome against us. And they should hammer Saints.

Just by the by, you had a comment sent automatically to moderation yesterday. Just telling you out of courtesy as it wasn’t us. I’ve approved it. For the record you said “Bollocks”. But I’ve no idea what to smile

        • banjomaker says:

Thanks Init. It does seem crazy to lose Son right now.

Haha, who’s a naughty boy! I can’t even blame the booze for that outburst. I think it was a rage message in response to Christensen coming on with 33 minutes played. I’ll try to be a little more eloquent in referencing male genitalia in future 😉

        • inittowinit says:

We aren’t bothered mate, it’s the system, it does it automatically. And randomly. And it’s not cusses it picks up on either. It’s literally random!

        • banjomaker says:

I figured you weren’t too bothered, as you referenced the word in telling me!! You should have a ‘moderated’ league table, although that’d probably just encourage it!!
