Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28.
And then there were 8…
If you’re arriving here wondering what on earth the above title is about then you either haven’t been paying attention or you are in for a big shock; basically Arsenal, Aston Villa, Man City and Sheffield United aren’t with us this week due to the Milk Cup final on Sunday.
We do still have a relatively full GW which spans 3 days though and it begins on Friday evening with Leicester licking their lips at the prospect of facing a now notoriously leaky Norwich.
We have the usual Saturday structure beginning with a lunchtime KO between Brighton and Palace before Bournemouth welcome Chelsea, Burnley go to Newcastle and West Ham host the Saints, all at 3pm. Watford and Liverpool see us out in the late game.
Sunday has just the 2 games, both at 2pm due to the aforementioned, and now traditional, trouncing of insert any team name (Villa) by City at Wembley. For the record the games are Everton hosting Man United and Wolves visting Spurs.
The games in full…

Hello everyone. I have to decided to adopt ‘Catch me I’m Falling’ as my theme song for this part of the season after regularly putting ‘I Believe I Can Fly’, on the old turntable earlier on! . If anyone knows of any inspiring tunes to motivate a Phoenix-like late-season resurrection I would like to know. Bye for now and take care in your fantasy and non fantasy lives!
The Stone Roses’ ‘Resurrection’ is probably most apt AJW.
So What Miles Davis
Better Off Without You Terje Rypdal
Don’t Interrupt the Sorrow Joni Mitchell or maybe Help Me by the same
Each Dream Is An Example Gastr Del Sol
Mindset The Necks
Should keep you honest.
Just had another ponder:
Move on Up Curtis Mayfield
Expensive Shit Fela Kuti
Only A Fool Would Say That Steely Dan
I’ll stop now.
Don’t stop me now – Queen
How about something cheesy like ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ by D:Ream?
Thanks for the suggestions people – was rather toying with ‘The Mercy Seat’, by Nick Cave. All about a bloke on the electric chair who’s reflecting on the past. (And the mercy seat is waiting and I think my head is melting!) Hahaha – music for life! Can hardly work out what to do for the future so I might just sell Ings for Jota ‘and be done with all this measuring of proof’ (that’s Nick Cave again! )
“There is a light that never goes out” – The Smiths
Or, of course, the song after, “Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others”?
“I want the one I can’t have” rings a bell in FPL terms as well…
“Nowhere Fast”
“I Know It’s Over”
“I Started Something I Couldn’t Finish”
“Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now”
Seems to me it’s an endless source by the Smiths…
Panic!
I wonder how short this week’s Captain Article will be, poor Bournmouth, such rotten luck this season.
You‘ll be surprised to know how many writers are NOT tipping Pool players. And that’s without any dgw news etc. time for some diversity. Granted, they’re all liars (including me) and will end up captaining Salah…
If Abua has a dgw I think I’d have to chance iy
Well 40(-4) pts and a green arrow! Funny old days. Tells more about my rank though than anything else but a move in the right direction.
It’s that time of the season that separates the boys from the men, but panic not; as long as you are inside 300k-ish come the dgws a decent rank is still doable.
Hope so DMC. 16 is a terrible score still. Hope next 10 games are a bit forgiving.
Decent week in the end, 44 (-4) and finally at the top of my ML and up to 67,000 overall. Wonder when Free Hit & WC is going to be best used?
Gw31 could be very bare depending on results over the next 2 nights. Only 2 games locked in I believe
