Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28.

And then there were 8…

If you’re arriving here wondering what on earth the above title is about then you either haven’t been paying attention or you are in for a big shock; basically Arsenal, Aston Villa, Man City and Sheffield United aren’t with us this week due to the Milk Cup final on Sunday.

We do still have a relatively full GW which spans 3 days though and it begins on Friday evening with Leicester licking their lips at the prospect of facing a now notoriously leaky Norwich.

We have the usual Saturday structure beginning with a lunchtime KO between Brighton and Palace before Bournemouth welcome Chelsea, Burnley go to Newcastle and West Ham host the Saints, all at 3pm. Watford and Liverpool see us out in the late game.

Sunday has just the 2 games, both at 2pm due to the aforementioned, and now traditional, trouncing of insert any team name (Villa) by City at Wembley. For the record the games are Everton hosting Man United and Wolves visting Spurs.

The games in full…

Hope everyone having a good week. Brought in DCL and Bruno this week, lucky I did too… they saved my week. I have 1 FT and 1.3 ITB. Ings seems to be a sinking ship, time to get rid. Mad to move for Jota already having Jimenez?

    Pep announces the DGW29????!;

“Now it’s recovery. We don’t have time for (celebrating). Sheffield Wednesday, United, Burnley, maybe between Arsenal, and after, Champions League. So no time to rest.”

Bunch of transfers whirling around in my head. Hopefully news and games this week make things clearer!

      Same here mate.
I ditched Vardy on friday night before the deadline and dont know whether to bring him back.
Jota/Jiminez and Fernandes on my radar

      • Kralin says:

Not bad people to have on the radar.

Naturally I’d wait until the cup games are done before moving. Wolves have the current advantage of being in good form and playing in 31; we’ll know who else joins them by the end of the week.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

If I bring back Vardy means I cannot bring in Fernandes, and will have to drop Ings for Jota but dont think that is a bad call.
But as you say, cup games to play first. That could throw up a few injuries for people.
Still not sure when is best to play my FH… starting to lose touch on that sad

        • Kralin says:

          As complex as ever HF.

Re the FH I want to save that and BB for the DGW(s).

          Bit acronymy this post.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

You should know me by now Kralin! !!
From what I have seen, would have thought GW31 would have been the FH week
Will use BB and TC on the doubles weeks

        • Kralin says:

Fair enough. I imagine a few may TC Salah this week.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

I won’t be using FH in GW31 either, who are you gonna get, not real advantages there as most will just get you 2pts, plus it’s much more fun playing FH chip in a DGW!!!

        • hammerfan_lm says:

just out of curiousity, why will you guys be using FH in a DGW, and not GW31 if only a few teams possibly playing?

        • constantine says:

hammerfan. If we have very few games in BGW31, it won’t matter if we have 4 or 8 players from those teams. Also, if all the BGW teams were top-6/8 teams, then still FH would have been a good option. But, to play FH in a DGW where you have more and better teams playing double games, it’s a;ways better to go with their players(with choice).
I think that’s what Kralin and Zed also meant.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

sort of understand Constantine (not much though).
I normally tend to BB or TC in a doubles week though.
Any chance we will have 3 doubles???

        • Kop Warrior says:

I suspect quite a few of those who plan to hold their FH for a DGW have already used their TC.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

@Kop That is very true, I have, for instance, already wasted my TC on “Mane injury unreal that such a thing is even able to happen fiasko”

@hammerfan I am using FH in a DGW rather than in BGW31 (given all the favorites do win in the FA Cup and there will only be 3 fixtures in GW31) because I do think I will gain more points from the chip in a DGW… BGW31, if there’s only 3 fixtures with rather poor teams playing, besides Wolves and Everton maybe, the pool of players I can select from is rather uninspiring, and with free transfers I will get 6-8 players anyway who are the best picks for that week, will have 3 Wolves for instance, so the FH chip only gains me 3-5 very average players from very average teams… I will gain a few points with those average players as well as they will play, but they are so likely to only get me 1-2pts each… Whereas in a late DGW I can get players in from a lot bigger pool, and also players that I wouldn’t have in my team but who I can punt on for one week, rotation risk players and so on, so I think the upside is a lot more for FH in a DGW, plus of course I don’t have the TC to use anymore in a DGW, that’s a huge factor in this of course!

        • hammerfan_lm says:

starting to see the reasoning ZL.
Having my TC left still gives me that extra chip. A doubles week is a good option, and in my opinion, Liverpool have been a good bet. But if they win the league before a double, will the kids get a run out. If so, then maybe they are not a TC option. That would maybe leave Man City or Leicester.
As for GW31. Can see what you are saying. These midweek cup games will give us an idea as to who will play for that gameweek. Wolves seem to be a definite from what I have read, so maybe I need to somehow get Jota in (even if others have him). Maybe let others waste the FH on GW31 and maybe use it to my advantage on a doubles week.
Starting to see the appeal now.

    Stone Frog says:

So if there is a double for Arsenal, would you move Vardy to Auba? Latest news I’ve seen is that Vardy will play vs Villa, which is a nice fixture, but hard to accommodate both!

      Kralin says:

I’m trying not to think about it until Friday.

I’m leaning more towards DCL or Jota coming in for Vardy, if I get rid of Vardy*, and bumping Traore up to someone else.

      *by no means certain
