Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28

Look, it’s a regular gameweek with no blanks or no doubles and to be honest some of us are so thankful for that.

This super normal GW kicks off on Friday when Toon play host to Emi “Lord of the Clean Sheet” Martinez, for non-owners he is known as “that bastard that kills me every week, but I am too stubborn to buy”.

Saturday gives us four more fixtures. Leeds tries to slow down a surging Chelsea side in the early game. Palace then takes on West Brom which is followed by Everton welcoming in Burnley and the day is capped off with Fulham taking on Pep’s XI, whatever that might be that day.

Sunday also gives us four encounters. Saints tangle with Brighton, Leicester dismantle Sheffield, Arsenal and Spurs square off in the North London Derby and 2nd place Manchester United face off vs the 5th place Hammers in the late one.

Monday sees a close to the gameweek when Wolves takes on the 3 points out of their last 21 Liverpool. Geez!

The games in full…

Simple rules question, if I may… is activating the FH effectively like activating a WC? i.e. I might as well do it now and then tinker to my hearts content… or do I have to select the team and do it all in one hit, with no more changes allowed?

    Raziel says:

Hmmm. So I already have 7 now players for next week. FH or just take a hit or two next gameweek?

Do not FH. You will want to use it a better time. Field 8 or 9 players for 29.

      • Smash says:

Is there a better time though?

        • I don’t see a huge upside of FH when one can get 8 without a hit. Not many points I see other than the core needed. With other DGWs, it is possible a better time will come.

        • Otieno says:

GW33 looks good for FH. There are some decent games for players you probably don’t have when TOT & MNC (&sou&ful) blank.

        • inittowinit says:

Depends how you’ve planned. If you’ve always been intent on using it in 29, and so haven’t really gathered any players for it then yes it’s then.

In Raz’s case landing easily on 8 or 9 may justify not using it. Depends what value is put on those couple of extra bodies. Could be really lucky and they are worth 20 odd points. Realistically though they will be worth 4-10, tops.

Alternative then is to wait until there’s a week where perhaps there are 3/4 top teams with coincidentally great fixtures and that could be one to jump on. Even better if it’s that plus one of the extra DGW games .

No idea if there is such a scenario on the horizon as I haven’t looked, but I just looked at my own GW history and I used it 18, presumably for some of the above reasons (I remember not now) but despite it being a low scoring week I actually got my highest GW rank so far in that one, so perhaps there is some credence to that theory too, according to the evidence.

        • Smash says:

Yeah I’d agree with that it’s team specific and how ones team is set up. Theres not an ultimate slam dunk better week on the horizon though in terms of doubles or blanks though

        • inittowinit says:

Not in terms or doubles or blanks there isn’t, of course. Is there one for the alternative scenario though, with a combo of good fixtures for favourable players?

The alternatives alternative theory is when teams become safe and start heading for the beach vs teams who are still fighting. The beach theory this season may be even stronger than normal given the circumstances. As they may totally knock off. I’d be tempted to myself. Especially if I had a Euros to look forward to.

        • Smash says:

Yeah GW33 as most will have City and Spurs players while other big teams have good fixtures

        • inittowinit says:

Just playing Devils Advocat on the matter 😉

Got 2ft’s… Thinking maupay and coufal in for shaw and brewster…. or is there a better option?

Sorry for talking about next week so early in to this one, but here the team for next week.

8 players so far, 1ft and 1.9m itb. Thinking of bruno to abu on a short term move (will cost me .2) and then a hit for either,

    Cancelo to Cresswell / Bellerín

Come on Newcastle, find a goal!

(I’m rooting for Rosco, mainly because I want to go back there next season with GP again, but not if they’re in the Championship! Plus his Mrs had some lovely baps waiting for us).
