Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 38
THANK YOU
Hi, Init here. Or Adam, whichever you prefer. I don’t often break cover from the ‘FF247’ facade but there’s a good reason to right now. Which is simply to say thanks to you all.
Thanks for following, thanks for reading, thanks for commenting. Thanks for being involved.
It’s been a long and difficult season, for a number of (bleedingly obvious) reasons.
From an editorial POV it’s been an absolute nightmare. We usually post about 5 or 6 articles a week but given the ‘new’ TV schedules the GW’s have been running into each other with alarming regularity. The fixture schedule itself has been altered so many times it almost became a joke to even attempt to follow it.
As such we have done the best we could. Which is to react to every GW announcement and post an article or two accordingly.
From a personal POV I still felt like we were letting people down (and I hate that), by not providing a regularly consistent flow of articles.
On reflection, we simply did what we could.
Regardless, any time I looked at the comments it was nothing but consistent and supportive.
Which leads me back to the title; THANK YOU.
Brilliant community, brilliant ‘family’.
As for GW38….
The games in full…
Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.
Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 38 from all at FF247!
Thanks to everyone on the site. I hope I have helped some people on my way. Disappointing season for me finishing at 113k. Did manage to claw it back after a shocking start but ended up shy of 100k
Shame because based on the help you’ve consistently offered you deserved something much higher than that.
I really hope your side wins the CL.
Thanks to both Kralin and Smash, and GP, Leeboy and all the others for the help you have given me this season. Much appreciation goes out to you guys as always
I feel nervous asking but…did you win your ML, hammerfan_lm?
Great season for WHU.
Kralin, nah mate. finished 2nd in the end. The winner is in about a zillion leagues, so probably getting 10x as much help as me…lol
I was about 18th out of 22 before Christmas, so to finish 2nd was an achievement.
Yeah – excellent season for WHU – Europe here we come!!
I really got screwed on the postponed fixtures somehow having lots more players than most. I also made some shocking decisions selling players who went onto haul. Did recover a fair bit and sure I would have learnt from it for next season where I hope to do better
I think my main errors this season were being over-reliant on the likes of Saka, Soucek etc and persisting with Liverpool players through the horror run.
And I should have tuned all that Werner talk out at the beginning of the season.
Smash
You lost and qualified for the CL today and this time next week you could be Champions of Europe again. Much like me and my club this season, proper football trumps fantasy football doesn’t it?
But from a site perspective, you’ve been superb my friend. Absolutely first class with your advice and your presence.
Massive thanks from me and I’ll go on a limb here, the rest of the Site Team.
I’d say rank-wise you’ve done well in a really difficult season.
Thanks GP
Thx everyone on here for all the help and tips articles.
Btw Anyone got the link for the fantasy Euro league

Thx Red
I love GW38 – the uncertainty on line ups and excitement of every game happening at the same time, love it and it didn’t disappoint!
A bit easier on the nerves than the equivalent GW last season, with the ghastliness of the leaked line-ups. That’s one thing I have not missed this season.
As we begin to reflect on the season and thank the writing team, the contributors and you guys, our community, it would be amiss of me not to make the following comment.
Without the dedication of Init this site would not exist. I seem to say this every May but this year it is more prevalent. When many of those around him have lost interest, fallen silent, lacked enthusiasm and struggled to stay in touch, Init has held everything together, organised the writing team, edited articles, kept commenting, found sponsorship, answered emails and much much more. All of this while battling Covid, stupidly busy work schedules, family commitments etc etc.
Thank you Init from me and from us all.
Hopefully next season is easier, more enjoyable and less stressful.
Hear, hear (from one of the silent ones).
hear hear (from one of the not so silent ones…lol)
This. In spades.
He drags us all along.
And he’s a really decent bloke too. Proud to have enjoyed his company a few times in the past and look forward to buying him a beer very very soon. He deserves it.
We wouldn’t know which day of the week it is without him.
Thank you GP, thanks for everything you have done for us this season, and thanks for taking over on the Site Team article.
Wow. Literally got a tear in my eye reading that. Thanks Cookie. Massively appreciate it.
Almost certainly the most difficult year of my life that, although I guess many could probably say the same.
Empathy has been a key word to see me through this because as much as I’ve been effected by it all I’ve been lucky also; I’ve kept my job, I’ve been able to go in every day and maintain some semblance of normality. Many haven’t.
I’ve been quieter too though as a result. You know what a tw@t I can be normally but that’s only because I push the envelope and want us to be the best we can be. I’ve had to can that a bit because I didn’t want to be putting any extra pressure on people when I don’t know what their personal circumstances look like.
As I sort of alluded to on the article I do all I do because I feel a sense of obligation to the community that we have (sort of) inadvertently created.
Worst FPL season ever for me but I don’t actually care about that. Main achievement this season has been holding FF247 together so that we can go in to the next unscathed.
Here here!! Never a truer word spoken! Big thanks to Init for everything he’s done, he’s kept is all together through a strange old season! Here’s to the next one!
Thanks Rosco, thanks for being there for us all each week in terms of writing and mainly thanks for doing H&L every single week, along with Matt. Brilliantly consistent.
Re comment 68

Here you go
Kralin
Have you got the link?
No worries
Got it from Little Red
Final shoutout of the season to all writers and contributors for the great articles and discussions. Really appreciate all the comments that helped my team to climb from 4.6m OR in gw3 to 24k.
When you put it like that that’s quite something
Well done coys
