THANK YOU

Hi, Init here. Or Adam, whichever you prefer. I don’t often break cover from the ‘FF247’ facade but there’s a good reason to right now. Which is simply to say thanks to you all.

Thanks for following, thanks for reading, thanks for commenting. Thanks for being involved.

It’s been a long and difficult season, for a number of (bleedingly obvious) reasons.

From an editorial POV it’s been an absolute nightmare. We usually post about 5 or 6 articles a week but given the ‘new’ TV schedules the GW’s have been running into each other with alarming regularity. The fixture schedule itself has been altered so many times it almost became a joke to even attempt to follow it.

As such we have done the best we could. Which is to react to every GW announcement and post an article or two accordingly.

From a personal POV I still felt like we were letting people down (and I hate that), by not providing a regularly consistent flow of articles.

On reflection, we simply did what we could.

Regardless, any time I looked at the comments it was nothing but consistent and supportive.

Which leads me back to the title; THANK YOU.

Brilliant community, brilliant ‘family’.

As for GW38….

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 38 from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 38.

This season is really tough due to the congested unexpected fixture due to covid. Big thank you to the writing team, the contributors, and everyone who gives all the analysis and insight in an unselfish way. I keep getting green arrows later in the season which allow me climbing back to 167k (starting at 3 m in first few weeks. Special thanks offered to smash and Gp, always being helpful and sharing views in my post. See you all next season and have a good summer.

Thanks for all the help and for your patience over the season guys. I ended up losing my ml by 5 points but it was a great journey.

As Init likes to jokingly (seriously) point out I do champion myself, and well in all honesty it’s pretty much all I have to shout about so yeah, unashamedly I’m here to say I did well. Finished 3k, my best rank to date but I’d not be anywhere near the manager I am without this place. I’m proud to be one of the contributors and they are not only great colleagues but great friends too.

I’d like to say a big thanks to each and every one of you for keeping this place as one where managers new and old can find a place of advice, humor and above all solace. It’s been a funny old season, one like no other, but we’re all still here and we’ll all be back in no time at all. So in the meantime, celebrate your wins no matter how small and come back next season stronger and ready to put yourselves through the FPL ringer once more.

Well played everyone and not just in FPL terms. cool

Finished at 228923, best since I started in the 2011/12 season. Thanks to all the writers and those knowledge contributed to the result. Hope I’m able to compete in the future (age is creeping up on me, be 83yrs during next year). Cheers to a great bunch of managers on here, & am looking forward to getting better. drinks

Thank you, I hope your situation will be improving. Just be safe and cautious as far the covid-19 is concerned. I’m sure next season will bring an upswing in everyone’s game.

Cheerio Mosc. Hope to see you continuing to enjoy the game!
Hope you 2 are well. Just think that you are like a fine wine – that evolves, but gets more sophisticated as it goes on.
You’ve had a great year in Harry and Lloyds, so obviously you have a solid analysis of the game! smile

Bye for now & kind regards,

@Mosc, That is a good rank considering the volatility of current season. I am sure next season, you will break into 100k. Its always good to see you around and wish you stay happy and healthy.

Now a bit of constructive criticism as we have been playing for last 8 years together:
I am surprised, that you never finished in top 100k. Historically, your prediction skills are quite good (as I know from our FFF days) and that helps a lot. I just had a look into your current season. At Gw19, you were around top 300k (which was a fantastic platform), but had a very bad middle game from Gw20-30 and dropped to 437k. End game (31-38) is difficult to close significant gaps. I am not sure, if this middle game is your weak area. But over past few seasons, this was my Achilles heel. So I focused to improve and this season Gw19 (1m) to Gw30 (267k), I had a much better game. My downfall was due to a bad start this season (which used to be my strength area). Perhaps you can look into your performance into segments of GWs and then it will not be difficult to break into top ranks.

GoalMachine, Thanks for the feedback. That portion of the season was indeed difficult & I am preparing for the next year now. Going to go over choices from those 10-11 matches & try to strengthen the lineup. I tried to ignore stats to some extent this year & used gut instinct a lot. That may have led to bad judgement. Hope to use your tips to make a good push next year.

    Another bad season for me.
There’s been a lot going on India since the 2nd Covid wave. Many near relatives getting infected and all. Been a very stressful season and year for me. But, I think the worst has gone by.
Never before have I been up unable to pay full attention to my team and FPL in general.
Will bounce back in the next one.

See you all in the Euros. Really excited. good

      Stay safe Constantine!
I’ve been reading stuff (novels and articles) by Arundathi Roy, who describes the whole mess in your country. Keep strong and keep being reasonable.
What a wonderful country India is, and it would be sad to see it damaged by selfish politicians. smile

      Cheerio!

Sorry to hear this, Constantine! I know what it is, as my family and I were also heavily affected by this horrible virus. Hope things get better for you and your loved ones, and for everyone for that matter!
And about FPL, we’ll be back at it before you know it.

    • 77.3

FPL is totally insignificant in those terms Constantine. But if it was somewhat of a distraction during tough times then I’m glad that it helped.

We’re still here and we’ll be ready to go again.

      Keep well.

Cheers AJW, Tornado, GP. Those words help(as always). That’s why this community/site is so important.
Situations are getting better here. But, since the population is very high, it’s practically impossible to control it 100%. But, hope this s*** will be over soon.
Regarding FPL, I think(and hope) there won’t be a time ever when I wouldn’t have it as a part of my life. It has for the past 5-6 years, been my escape from all the bad things that happen in one’s life. Cheers to FPL and and the spirit of Football. See you all in the Euros.

This was my first FPL season that I could finish. Finished with an OR of 7889. Missed a couple of deadlines. Couldn’t really watch much football for last few months. Extremely stressed for last few months with workload in covid times being a doctor. Also having near and dear ones suffering from it.

Well played everyone. See you in Euros.
