Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4

After two bumper game-weeks, perhaps GW3 was merely a reality check. It matters not though as GW4 is upon us already, with fresh promise. It’s quite the condensed affair too, beginning on Saturday and ending on Sunday. Almost old school. Almost.

It begins with Leicester hosting Liverpool in the early game, giving many a Salah captainer a weekend long headache should he fail to produce. Five 3pm games follow in quick succession. Brighton will attempt to keep the Mitro show at bay. Bournemouth will hope to somehow halt Alonso’s inevitable march in to everybody’s fantasy team once again. Zaha will be looking to put one more nail in Hughes’ coffin. Wally will attempt to make amends for Richarlison’s stupidity. And Arnie will make a last ditch attempt to stop Pellegrini being fed to the Wolves.

The evening game should pique some interest as Man City play host to Ashley’s mercenaries. A classic case of an evening captain over an early one once again, in reverse? Perhaps!

Sunday sees us out with three away games for Arsenal, Man United and Spurs, going to Cardiff, Burnley and Watford respectively.

  1. Averages are in from Discovery. How did we all fare then?

    • Average performance this week Init. How about you?

      • 53 mate. Feels a bit ‘meh’ but looking at the above I guess it’s just on the side of ok. Not seeing anyone with anything spectacularly different really. What did you end up with?

        • 50. Nothing great but can’t complain!

    • Thanks Init.
      48.
I guess it’s a bad sign when the ‘My Rules’ team performs much better that your main team.
A bit disappointed with my results so far despite sticking to a kind of template team and resisting taking any hits. I will still try to hold on any early transfers or rushed WC though. We’ll see how it goes.

      • Nowt wrong with that so far mate, top 5% after 4 weeks isn’t to be sniffed at. Don’t forget how long it takes to flush out those above who are only there due to already splurging on the chips, of which there are many.

    • I’m getting battered in my ml which I’ve won the last 8 yrs here’s playing 4 or 5 at the back every wknd & it’s killing me my 4 MF players scored a grand total of 5 woooooooooooo
:whacky: here are teams thinking of wc thoughts ???

    • Gotta say I was lucky I guess as I beat the Top-10k average (albeit by a dismal 0.3 points smile ) with both Zaha and Richarlison on me bench…!

      • Hey Zeb how you doing 48 for me dismal

        • 52 but I’m happy as it’s first Green Arrows of the season and Boly from the bench for Zaha, could have been a lot worse with a single strike from any West Ham player really… I am happy!! smile

  2. Well guys. Thinking of using the wc. Yes or no

    • If playing the WC I’d recommend squeezing alonso in somehow. Just my two cents.

      • Yeah cheers mate. I’m working around getting him in alright. Not sure whether to go for it or not.

  3. Current team.

    • @ offalymartin
Your team has a few issues but overall it’s pretty solid. If I were you I would wait for more news about Zaha and Theo. If in two weeks time they are ready to play I would keep your WC for later.

      • Cheers mate. Yeah I don’t want to do anything to drastic. I do have issues as you say but I might wait it out.

  4. Any news on Zaha? How long does a groin injury usually take?

  5. Is it better to make transfers after the internationals? It is a tough call as prices are still going up.
    Cheers!

  6. Considering a 4pt hit to bring in Hazard. I would do B Silva>Hazard and Pedro>Neves. Thoughts on those? Trying to hold the WC for later but not having Zaha, Richarlson and now my backup keeper is out. Looking at this team would you recommend the aforementioned moves for a hit or go ahead and spend the WC to resolve the missing players. Also I think the time to bring in Hazard is now. He appears to have his mojo back.

    • The -4 you proposed might work out. Two rotation risks for two sure fire starters, one of which is Haz. For the WC question, I’m in the same boat and I’m really not sure there
