Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 4. No Friday fixture this time, but a big slate of games on Saturday to get the GW going. In all there is 8 fixtures and kicking it off with a lunch time affair is Southampton hosting the crap again Manchester United.
That early game is followed by six 3pm games. We have Lampard’s boys taking on Lundstram’s crew, along with that we also see Palace vs Villa and Newcastle vs Watford. Simultaneously we also get Leicester hosting Bournemouth, Man City taking apart Brighton and West Ham versus Norwich in the battle of the cheap strikers. The day is then closed out by Burnley vs Liverpool which should see 21 players inside the Clarets’ penalty area most of the game.
Sunday brings us the remaining two fixtures. The early game sees Everton play host to Wolves, should be an interesting game between one team who doesn’t know how to attack versus a team who is too tired to attack. The late game has the best game on paper of the game-week. Arsenal (just lost to LFC) takes on Spurs (just lost at home to Toon) in what should help us to start to figure out which team will finish 20 points behind second place in 3rd and which team will finish 25 points behind second place in 4th.
The games in full…

Could I please get some help?
Im going to change PvA to Coleman, or Cantwell and PvA to Digne + 4.5 mid. I have 0.4 itb.
Any ideas?
Hold your transfers and wait until the end of the international break.
Digne will outscore Coleman by a fair bit this season from what I’ve seen. That assist on Sunday tells that story. Bang on the byline, attacking intent and athleticism to do it. Coleman can’t do that any more, unfortunately. Digne on DFK’s and corners too.
Init, I read that Siggy took all the set pieces on Sunday?
They were lying then as I watched it and that wasn’t the case.
Im on a wild card..
So you think Digne+Dendonker is bettet than Coleman+Cantwell?
The Digne bit is, not so sure about the other.
Yeah Digne is worth it for me
Yes.
Not having Digne is a big mistake I intend to quietly correct over the IB, other injuries notwithstanding.
Viktor if you’re looking for a bench midfielder then I’d consider Hayden. I had him from the start and then dropped him for Cantwell this GW. Then he assists…
He had a great end to last season and I expect him to kick on this season. He’s started every match and Newcastle will likely score more goals this season with Almiron and Joelinton. I’m on my WC and I may end up back with Hayden as my cheap 5th mid.
Am I crazy to have jumped off the Pukki hot-air ballon? I feel it will get deflated in the next gameweeks (vs City and then 2 tough away games) and I made my 0,1 on him – just got him 1 week ago and already moving him on. Am on a wildcard now and somewhat feel OK with it. Famous last words…
It’s a risk, but succeeding in FPL is all about taking calculated risks and your logic is sound enough IMO.
That is exactly what I wanted to hear Red! Thank you for feeding my fpl manager ego. But these risks have a tendency to bite us managers in the behind and we feel it for a couple of GWs…oh well a Pukki-less team is somewhat of a differential now! 😉
KFC, Barnes, Abraham and Heller are al great options at that similar price point in my opinion.
Cheers Cookie and agreed- yep Barnes is in my team for now but I do not rate him even tough he has had a wonderful 2019. Southgate doesn’t either so I am OK with my own opinion haha. Out of those you mentioned I see Abraham as the most capable fo scoring regularly…
Thinking laporte to otamedi.
Good transfer?
Jamie
Should be nailed on if nothing else!
Yeah I think so. I really think he’s the City defender to own now if Laporte is out long term
Thanks guys.
Isn’t Fernandinho going to play there also and most probably rotate with Otamendi (who is a bit like Demichelis, slow like a sloth and an accident waiting to happen)?
I don’t think so. They need Otamendi for his aerial ability. If Fernandinho plays CB I think it would be instead of Stones because of ability on the ball: before Laporte arrived Otamendi was undisputed number one
Smash you may be right and yes I remember Otamendi being number 1 at the back – perhaps Pep is not even sure himself but if he could turn Mascherano into a CB I think turning Fernandinho would be a piece of cake (of course different league and all but still). Just my thought and I could be way off…hehe
It’s not bad.
Pope
TAA Digne Otamendi
Salah Sterling KDB
Pukki Abraham Barnes
Plus one from Lundstram Söyüncü Cantwell Hayden with the others joining Button on the bench.
Views of this WC? £0.5 ITB
I’d be having a premium striker spot if I was playing a WC now. Although the 3 you have are perfectly good.
I think it’s fine and in Sterling and Salah the premium striker bit is covered. That’s a tasty team you’ve assembled there.
Yeah I like it that’s sort of the route I’d take so no premium forward
Cheers guys. Some words of encouragement and some food for thought. Much appreciated.
Looking back at that Grealish “dive” controversy, is Lansbury a cheeky punt for a 4.4 midfield bench warmer? Am I
scraping the barrelon to something here?Possibly. As long as he doesn’t ever have to come off it.
As long as he’s playing. Anyone at 4.4 is fine for the bench.
Thanks guys. He’s only played 5 mins but I think the manager likes him if he can stay fit and his goal was great except for the fact that it didn’t count. Plus it frees up 0.1m.
Has Kane gone off the boil of late or is it too early to say.
As a non-owner I’ve not been paying a huge amount of attention but Spurs’ results, the wretched home defeat v Newcastle in particular, suggest a certain malaise.
Having said that, it looks like key personnel are returning and Spurs are classy enough to throw off the torpor.
But for now their players aren’t really that close to my (imaginary) watchlist. To generalise a bit, cheaper strikers than Kane have more appeal, and one very obvious more expensive one.
He has gone off the boil, and it is too early to say/judge 😎
I do t really know what’s wrong with him. Maybe it’s too many ankle ops but he’s not looked as good for a while now. Ofcourse he can still finish but he struggles to get into the box now. I don’t know if he’s being told to drop deep to get the ball but he’s just not in the box often enough for me
Yes, it’s all a bit weird isn’t it, not sure what has caused the change.
