We doubt there will be many FPL fans left now then, such was the excitement and intrigue of the new ‘Nations League’, or whatever it is called. 16 groups of teams, some in groups of 4, some in 3, some can get promoted, some can get relegated, some can get into the Euros but only if they haven’t already and if they have then someone else can instead, who did worse. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…

Just in case anyone is indeed still interested then… FPL IS BACK! Thank goodness.

Saturday will see the majority of our FPL interest hit the field. ‘Super Sunday’ looks like it’s having a breather and is followed closely by its cousin ‘Mundane Monday’…

Spurs and Liverpool get us underway at lunchtime in what should be a very tasty appetiser. 3pm then sees Bournemouth and Leicester no doubt sharing a fair few goals, Chelsea probably starving Cardiff of any, Huddersfield hoping that Zaha’s brother doesn’t actually make a habit of DM’ing correct injury news about his sibling, Man City struggling to derail the Mitro train before slamming in a shed load of their own to render it unimportant anyway and then Newcastle and Rafa setting up a cricket formation around Cech with a silly point, silly mid off, silly mid on and a short leg. High flying Watford then host Man United in the evening game to see Saturday out for us, and just perhaps Jose too.

Wolves and Burnley is the early ‘Super Sunday’ game. Is it possible for a team to actually concede less than zero goals? We may well find out. Everton and West Ham will provide your late Sunday ‘entertainment’.

The lack of any tangible FPL involvement in the post Saturday TV games continues through to Monday for the south coast derby between Southampton and Brighton. Even if you don’t actually own Ings you’ll probably be praying for him to score by this point just so you can pretend to have something to say about it all!

  1. Is Richarlison sure to be back next week? Why does FPL still show him as unavailable?

    • Yes. Flag will go once this GW is confirmed tomorrow night.

      • Not a lot of consistency with the Ings flag already being on

        • Agreed, if transfers are open then the flags should be sorted or it’s simply misinformation.

    Been a while since I posted and in need of some serious advice!

    Taken out Salah to get a bit more of a balanced side. Seen the leader in my mini league doesn’t have Salah either and he’s thriving! How does the following look to you guys?

    • Certainly looks different. No Salah, Alonso, Robertson, Aguero, Mendy.

      I think Shaw, Gomez and Laporte is too risky to have all three as any of them could easily lose their place. You don’t need Kante so you can drop him down to a 4.4 or 4.5. Chelsea don’t look great at the back so don’t think you need Kepa either.

  5. Just realised my Frenchie spoken My Rules team completely smashed it with 81 points… And without any playing goalkeeper. It’s way above my real team now, crazy.

  6. So best mkhitaryan replacement? My midfield is Salah, D Silva, Pedro, Fraser ( ) I’ve listed who I think are the best with their next 3 fixtures taking them to the next international break.

    Each player there seems to have similar fixtures, pererya and schurrle have the best underlying stats, lingard and maddison are both only 3% owned so offer good differentials. Richarlison is in form carrying it through the international break scoring 2 for Brasil. Decisions decisions decisions.

    • Got to be Richarlson really. Maddison also a decent option with Huddersfield at home

    • Great analysis. I’d be happy with any of the top four listed there. I think Richarlison will probably outscore them all over the course of the season due to his goal threat. Interesting that Brazil chose to play him through the middle the other night. I’d expect Schurrle and Pereyra to get themselves close to double figures too. Especially if Schurrle continues his shoot from anywhere policy! Maddison probably won’t get near that in goals but he’ll make it up somewhat with assists.

      Personally I’d just go route 1 and get Richarlison.

      • Maybe Brazil doesn’t trust non-scoring Jesus or one eyed Firmino anymore. 😉

        He is a big boy, I am not sure in the past he would have ever been put on the wing to begin with. He was outstanding judging by the Brazilian handles I follow on twitter.
