Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
We doubt there will be many FPL fans left now then, such was the excitement and intrigue of the new ‘Nations League’, or whatever it is called. 16 groups of teams, some in groups of 4, some in 3, some can get promoted, some can get relegated, some can get into the Euros but only if they haven’t already and if they have then someone else can instead, who did worse. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…
Just in case anyone is indeed still interested then… FPL IS BACK! Thank goodness.
Saturday will see the majority of our FPL interest hit the field. ‘Super Sunday’ looks like it’s having a breather and is followed closely by its cousin ‘Mundane Monday’…
Spurs and Liverpool get us underway at lunchtime in what should be a very tasty appetiser. 3pm then sees Bournemouth and Leicester no doubt sharing a fair few goals, Chelsea probably starving Cardiff of any, Huddersfield hoping that Zaha’s brother doesn’t actually make a habit of DM’ing correct injury news about his sibling, Man City struggling to derail the Mitro train before slamming in a shed load of their own to render it unimportant anyway and then Newcastle and Rafa setting up a cricket formation around Cech with a silly point, silly mid off, silly mid on and a short leg. High flying Watford then host Man United in the evening game to see Saturday out for us, and just perhaps Jose too.
Wolves and Burnley is the early ‘Super Sunday’ game. Is it possible for a team to actually concede less than zero goals? We may well find out. Everton and West Ham will provide your late Sunday ‘entertainment’.
The lack of any tangible FPL involvement in the post Saturday TV games continues through to Monday for the south coast derby between Southampton and Brighton. Even if you don’t actually own Ings you’ll probably be praying for him to score by this point just so you can pretend to have something to say about it all!

Front 3 of aguero zaha arnie is starting to seem very appealing
Although Arnie might be injured for a long time…
How is this for wc
May be get Doherty for Tomkins.. Rest looks good. City players are a risk though
+1
Yes it looks fine. You’ve caught the current zeitgeist. Those 6-7mish strikers are all doing ok, with the exception of Tosun, so you look fine there.
If you can get someone cheaper in for Tomkins, why not.
Re your City players, I think it’s a risk worth taking. If it’s even a risk. They will all be rotated but they will all score heavily as well, offsetting that. Last season there were movements away from having three, only for managers to hurriedly pile back in.
Have you got a plan (however vague) to get Salah back as/when the points start flowing?
Mornin all. Super crap FPL weekend……EIGHT 2 pointers…..yes eight. Leaning towards WCing, yay or nay?
Hi Colriles, I’m not convinced myself. Other than having the wrong Liverpool and Chelsea defenders and not having Hazard and probably fixing Wally is there much else you’d change? Although that could be enough!
Deceiving right!? Looks decent at first glance, but looking closer everything’s wrong Although should have mentioned I do have 2 FT’s and 0.6 itb, so maybe a -4 is a better fix. Thanks for talking me through it Innit! 😉
I can sympathize, exact same score as me our teams are very similar… but I have no WC!! Why not put a team together that you would like, if there’s 6 -8 players you want to change you’ll know what to do!
??
Although this looks appealing my gut would say save the WC. Personally I like saving it till the December madness if possible. It comes in handy there. I don’t actually think your team looks that bad and if you want Alonso you can easily upgrade Luiz.
Cheers AK. Could be Salah & Luiz > Haz & Alonso for me then. Still leaves Wally, Peltier, Stephens, VanDijk? to deal with.
From top performance in first 3 GW’s to getting horrible score in last 2 GW..saw the rank go down from top1-2k to now 100k…hahaha…such is FPL.. No one is safe on top…:p activated my wildcard.
Have loads to ask. But let’s start with Salah or no Salah??
Cheers. Team will follow accordingly in the following post.
Having Salah, I am gonna hold to him for the Southsampton game, and reassess.
But if I played my WC now, I’d probably do without him. Top 3 defenders, Kun, Haz… I would not have the money to afford him.
@charanraj
Its a difficult question.
Have 2 Liverpool players in your WC team
Roberston or TAA in defense
1 out of Mane, Salah or Firmino.
I personaly have Salah but I would understand if you would go with Mane to free up some money to invest somewhere else.
Firmino would be my least favourite option but it is still better as not having any of these 3 at all
You know you have had a bad gw when you are looking at dale Stephens to rescue it
Knowing my luck, he’ll bag a brace buried on my bench…
Anyone else praying for an Ings goal?
Hoping for one, yes.
Yep could really do with him doing something. Thank god for Hazard this week
I’m on the other side. Hazard’s caused me some damage this week.
