Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6
With five of the big boys, and also Arsenal, having been on European duty this week we may be about the hear the dreaded ‘R’ word a number of times over the next few days as the team-sheets roll in. Certain key personnel such as Hazard were given the week off, other ones played (relatively poorly) and then proceeded to wander around with a pack of Lemsip in their hand afterwards to further fuel speculation as to their possible involvement. All will be revealed in due course though…
Watford pitch up at Fulham to kick us off on Saturday lunch-time to test their strong arm tactics against the strongest of arms in the shape of Mitrovic. Expect fireworks. New FPL favourite Fraser then gets a taste of real Northern ‘hospitality’ at Burnley to begin our 3pm games. Cardiff will hope, probably in vein, not to be the victims of a Pep backlash. Zaha will no doubt get fouled and subsequently wound up like nobody’s business against Newcastle after last week’s revelation that he ‘gets fouled a lot and gets wound up by it’! Vardy then gets another bite at grabbing our attention with a tasty home game against Huddersfield. Salah will then divide an FPL nation by either appearing against Saints or not, and that’s before he even gets a sniff of kicking a ball or two into their net, or doesn’t. Either way, avoid twitter would be our advice, the idiots will be out in full force! Jose’s reinvigoration will be severely tested as the Wolves come a hunting.
Our evening game, after a breathless Saturday afternoon, may end up with Poch wandering alongside the Brighton seafront, supping from a can of Special Brew, muttering nonsensical musings to himself, if the current pattern is to be believed. Or Kane could score a hat-trick and half a million wildcards will be suddenly and unexpectedly activated. Football, eh…
Sunday then sees a supposedly rejuvenated West Ham face a supposedly in form and title challenging Chelsea. Time will tell on both fronts. Arsenal and Everton then close our week out with a challenge as to which one is worse at playing the ball out front the back.

Morning all hope you’re having good gw! Pretty poor one for me with 45 …Shaw to come in with 1 point (instead of W-B with 9 ) + Haz and Alonso!
What would you all suggest for my team this week?
Original plan was Pereyra to Richarlison (although be shame to lose Pereyra)
Mendy is a concern (got at £6, can sell at £6.2 but would need to drop to that to buy back, £6.4 @ -64.5 on fpl stats ….likely?)
Shaw good cover but I’ve missed W-B’s points again so do I need him ….could swap to Bennet etc but can’t see how the extra cash will improve elsewhere!?
Hey keV.good to hear you after few days. 49 with haz, Alonso and Richie to go. Wait for Mendy news I will say. Your team doesn’t need much changing. You can consider pereyra to Richie/Madison. Id keep wan bissaka
Cheers Eresh yeah been away with poor signal and long flights so good to be back and giving my full attention to fpl again
Def keeping W-B …was more thinking about ditching Shaw so I actually gain some of W-B’s points now and then!?
Pereyra to Ricky the move to make then?…keep Moura yeah?
49 with 3 to play is well decent, hope your WC does you well, you’ve had some good looking drafts over last week!!
cheers redkev. ended up being 3-5-2 formation and not relatively happy. will see a few weeks and then re-assess. Keep Moura for Now. Pereyra to ricky/maddison i would do.
in regards to shaw, if you want, downgrade to holebas/doherty/bennet. my defence remplate is 3 in the 6 mil and above range and 2 in the 4-5mil range. so yeah mendy/walker, robbo and alonson are the main three i will have every week.
do you have a twitter handler by the way redkev?
Cheers Eresh, will keep Moura for hud/CAR/whm, do Pereyra to Ricky (may rotate/transfer those 2 and Madds based on fixtures) and hold Shaw till Mendy back and/or need the extra cash from him!
I don’t have Twitter yet mate, should get on it though as I’ve beat Jeff on Super6 a few times now and don’t know if I’ve won anything 😆
nice 1 redkev. if u got fb, i can add you mate if thats ok with u
Yeah mate please do! :thumb up:
Emoji fail!
what name do i search on fb and describe to me ur profile picture display
It’s Kevin Hoskings mate and I’m …err….sleeping with a pack of lions
awsm mate. next time take a pic sleeping with cats 😉
Eresh I still can’t decide if you’re just the friendliest person ever or a stalker
lool innit. i used to be a former spy for some1 famous 😉
Doesn’t that still make you a former spy? 😉
touche
Excellent squad Kev! So much so that I’m afraid Obi Wan may haunt you from your bench a few times more yet. With Richarlison having Fulham at home next I reckon you attack that one, as much as it a shame to lose Pereyra in the process, as you say.
Cheers Init! Yeah reckon it’s less frustrating to have a totally rubbish bench sometimes …would you keep Shaw then even though he’s a potential W-B ‘point blocker’?
Yeah do want Ricky… but do like Pereyra! I could rotate them transfer wise a bit or lose Moura instead but that feels like fpl suicide with hud/CAR/whm next!?
First world problems eh Kev! I guess we now know what having that spare Salah budget means – too many options elsewhere…
Losing Moura might actually not be as mad as it sounds. Competition is hotting up there now as it’s basically him, Son, Alli and Lamela all fighting for 2 spots alongside Erik in the 3 behind Kane. Wasn’t overly impressed with him last night and obviously Lamela staked his claim emphatically.
Yeah Lamela often produces…when fit! I’ll give Moura another week or 2 but looking at it I could actually have a midfield of Haz, Mane, Ricky, Pereyra & Lamela If dropped Shaw to Bennet! Could be a great differential but also another benching headache each week!?
Well guys. 60 points with Alonso and Hazard to go. Into the top 23k rank wise. How am I looking for next week. Contemplating to get Salah back in after only getting rid of him but that’s a 2 week project without a hit. Probably bring Mendy back in when we find out more also.
Good solid rank at this stage that. What’s the Salah plan? I didn’t see the game but I’d be interested to know how he looked if anyone did, I know Elle went so it’d be good to hear his first hand conclusions.
Cheers mate. I guess I’m looking at Mane-Salah and either downgrade Zaha to 4.4 bench fodder or downgrade Vardy to Ings which in turn becomes Smalling to Mendy.
I only seen some highlights but Salah could of had a hat trick.
Salah had a good game. Played with a smile on his face and had chances, the goal will hopefully bring confidence to bag a few more.
In depth analysis right there. That’s the last time we send you to a game
The”smile” part is important. Keeping him till he’s injured
Great rank. Team looks pretty good. Only Neves stands out for me
Thanks Smash. My most consistent start to a season ever. Stupidly wasted a hit this week doing Mendy to Smalling.
Who knows what’s going on with Mendy. Smalling ain’t a bad pick but you probably did not need to do it as you have cover.
Yeah I know mate. Wouldn’t of been to bad if he had of kept a cs.
Teams. No Arnie
West Ham v Chelsea
No Arnie….
More importantly for me, no Pedro which means Obi-Wan comes off the bench to put me on 63 pts with 3 to play. It makes a lovely change to actually smile when one of my players doesn’t start
Chelsea vs West Ham or Pak vs India?
I have made my choice.
About to transfer in a forward. Got 6,2£ to spend.
He will spend quite some time on the bench except when he has great fixtures/when other players have bad fixtures. Want someone with low TSB.
Deeny ,Gray, Ihenacho and Jimenez are interesting options. Won’t go for Ings since a few in my Mini leagues got him. Who would you go for?
hey allan. i had iheanacho at first but transferred him out as he wasnt starting much in the first 6 weeks. from the list you mentioned, i would either go with Gray or Jimenez. Jimenez more than gray.
Ok, could be someone else to. But jimenez would leave some money itb so that’s a good option…
jimenez aint bad – i envisage a front three of aguero, mitro and jimenez and make the midfield look strong
Gray certainly passed the eye test yesterday. Goal aside he looked the most likely after that and was unlucky a few times and flagged up narrowly for a couple of one on ones. I wouldn’t necessarily have him as a permanent fixture but for your purposes as a spot pick he sounds ideal.
Didn’t see the game. You think he’s a better option than Deeney?
Looked it on the basis of yesterday. He was the one making the runs in behind. Deeney was more of a target man.
Ok, thanks guys! Now I just have to see who gets injured in the matches today and ruins my plans…
I think Deeney has got some broken toes now so short term Gray might be safer.
I’d second this. Deeney + Gray were a constant threat yesterday. As innit said Gray looks to have more FPL potential but I’d only keep him in my team if he has Deeney alongside him.
