With five of the big boys, and also Arsenal, having been on European duty this week we may be about the hear the dreaded ‘R’ word a number of times over the next few days as the team-sheets roll in. Certain key personnel such as Hazard were given the week off, other ones played (relatively poorly) and then proceeded to wander around with a pack of Lemsip in their hand afterwards to further fuel speculation as to their possible involvement. All will be revealed in due course though…

Watford pitch up at Fulham to kick us off on Saturday lunch-time to test their strong arm tactics against the strongest of arms in the shape of Mitrovic. Expect fireworks. New FPL favourite Fraser then gets a taste of real Northern ‘hospitality’ at Burnley to begin our 3pm games. Cardiff will hope, probably in vein, not to be the victims of a Pep backlash. Zaha will no doubt get fouled and subsequently wound up like nobody’s business against Newcastle after last week’s revelation that he ‘gets fouled a lot and gets wound up by it’! Vardy then gets another bite at grabbing our attention with a tasty home game against Huddersfield. Salah will then divide an FPL nation by either appearing against Saints or not, and that’s before he even gets a sniff of kicking a ball or two into their net, or doesn’t. Either way, avoid twitter would be our advice, the idiots will be out in full force! Jose’s reinvigoration will be severely tested as the Wolves come a hunting.

Our evening game, after a breathless Saturday afternoon, may end up with Poch wandering alongside the Brighton seafront, supping from a can of Special Brew, muttering nonsensical musings to himself, if the current pattern is to be believed. Or Kane could score a hat-trick and half a million wildcards will be suddenly and unexpectedly activated. Football, eh…

Sunday then sees a supposedly rejuvenated West Ham face a supposedly in form and title challenging Chelsea. Time will tell on both fronts. Arsenal and Everton then close our week out with a challenge as to which one is worse at playing the ball out front the back.

Morning all hope you’re having good gw! Pretty poor one for me with 45 …Shaw to come in with 1 point (instead of W-B with 9 sad ) + Haz and Alonso!
What would you all suggest for my team this week?
Original plan was Pereyra to Richarlison (although be shame to lose Pereyra)
Mendy is a concern (got at £6, can sell at £6.2 but would need to drop to that to buy back, £6.4 @ -64.5 on fpl stats ….likely?)
Shaw good cover but I’ve missed W-B’s points again so do I need him ….could swap to Bennet etc but can’t see how the extra cash will improve elsewhere!?

Hey keV.good to hear you after few days. 49 with haz, Alonso and Richie to go. Wait for Mendy news I will say. Your team doesn’t need much changing. You can consider pereyra to Richie/Madison. Id keep wan bissaka

Excellent squad Kev! So much so that I’m afraid Obi Wan may haunt you from your bench a few times more yet. With Richarlison having Fulham at home next I reckon you attack that one, as much as it a shame to lose Pereyra in the process, as you say.

      • RedKev says:

Cheers Init! Yeah reckon it’s less frustrating to have a totally rubbish bench sometimes smile …would you keep Shaw then even though he’s a potential W-B ‘point blocker’?
Yeah do want Ricky… but do like Pereyra! I could rotate them transfer wise a bit or lose Moura instead but that feels like fpl suicide with hud/CAR/whm next!?

        • inittowinit says:

First world problems eh Kev! I guess we now know what having that spare Salah budget means – too many options elsewhere…

Losing Moura might actually not be as mad as it sounds. Competition is hotting up there now as it’s basically him, Son, Alli and Lamela all fighting for 2 spots alongside Erik in the 3 behind Kane. Wasn’t overly impressed with him last night and obviously Lamela staked his claim emphatically.

        • RedKev says:

Yeah Lamela often produces…when fit! I’ll give Moura another week or 2 but looking at it I could actually have a midfield of Haz, Mane, Ricky, Pereyra & Lamela If dropped Shaw to Bennet! Could be a great differential but also another benching headache each week!?

Well guys. 60 points with Alonso and Hazard to go. Into the top 23k rank wise. How am I looking for next week. Contemplating to get Salah back in after only getting rid of him but that’s a 2 week project without a hit. Probably bring Mendy back in when we find out more also.

About to transfer in a forward. Got 6,2£ to spend.
He will spend quite some time on the bench except when he has great fixtures/when other players have bad fixtures. Want someone with low TSB.

Deeny ,Gray, Ihenacho and Jimenez are interesting options. Won’t go for Ings since a few in my Mini leagues got him. Who would you go for?
