Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7

Gameweek 7 gets going with a lunch time affair. The slowly improving Hammers take on the slowly deteriorating Man United. That fixture is followed by six 3pm matches. Arsenal take on Watford, Everton tangle with Fulham, Huddersfield hands over 3 points to Spurs, City put 5 past Brighton, Toon welcome in Leicester and Wolves look to impress again vs Saints. All them fixtures are just the appetisers though, for the match of the day. The late game sees Chelsea welcome in top of the league Liverpool in what we all hope will be a back and fourth battle. Should be interesting all that attacking talent going up against each other. Salah vs Hazard, also Mane vs Hazard and if that wasn’t enough, Firmino vs Hazard.

All the fun didn’t end on Saturday. Well, actually, it did!! Cardiff vs Burnley?! Really? One game on Sunday and this is what we got?

Monday sees an end to the gameweek when Bournemouth tackle the hell out of Zaha. Lerma to get a yellow via love tap to the shin on Wilfried? No doubt!

Happy with my defence and I don’t really want to sacrifice anymore from it. Only if absolutely necessary!

    Defence is:
    Patricio (4.0 gk)
Robertson – David Luiz – Obi Wan – Duffy – Doherty

This leaves me with 67 mil itb for my front 8. Taking out the funds for those I think are definitely in my team, Haz and Maddy, it leaves me with 49.3 itb to fill in 3 strikers and 3 mids.

Who are the must haves in those categories?

    My thoughts behind it are:
    A. One Liverpool player so Salah, Mane or Bobby
    B. With Kun having feet problems should we be looking at him where he could be rested or subbed off in each game or should we be looking at Sterling/ Bilva etc?
    C. Should I go with a cheapo 3rd fwd or a cheapo 5th mid? The defence is decent enough to rely on if needed but I feel there are more cheap options in midfield so I’m looking at Masuaku?

Just want to nail down a WC draft I can confirm then I’ll tinker like mad over the next week haha

      A. Gut says Bobby
      B. Kun on Ownership but if you can squeeze in Raheem that would be a rank booster
      C. You need a 4.5 or sub to alleviate bench headaches, but you need them to play so I’d go cheap forward ; Ings /Jimenez and 4.5 mid….
all in all I’d go for 2 premium defenders, 3 cheap (sub 5.0) Defenders who play every week, a 4.5 Mid who won’t give you a benching headache and then spread the remaining 7 spots between 3 big hitters and 4 mid priced dudes ….

        Cheers mate.

These are what I have right now.
        A.

        Patricio (4.0)
Robertson – Luiz – Obi Wan- Doherty – Duffy
Mane – Haz – Maddison – Masuaku and Anguissa (both 4.4’s but play)
        Kane – Kun and Arnie

or B (which I just stumbled upon by accident!!)
        Patricio (4.0)
TAA- Luiz – Obi Wan- Doherty – Duffy
Sterling – Haz – Maddison – Lucas Moura – Masuaku
        Bobby – Kun and Arnie

    DMC says:

52 with Fraser to go. 2FT and just enough to do Salah + Firmino -> Hazard + Kane. Too arsh in the Liverpool lads or shrewd?

Happy with 59 points this game week with a further 2 to com off the bench for Robertson.

My Dele Alli transfer mishap was not too costly as Mane only ended up with 1 point.

Obi Wan left to play on Monday night.

Green arrows all the way with an overall ranking just outside 100k.

8 points required to keep an overall weekly average of 65.

Let’s just write this week off and move forwards… oh that’s just me!! 😉

      • Kralin says:

I’m in sub 50 points territory this week (am just below the average) but as ever I’m not in the slightest bit bothered. Last week went really well, this week is about average, hopefully next will be a high scoring week. And the GW isn’t over so I should go beyond 50 points, which I tend to see as an OK week.

While on an instant gratification level it would be fab if we could nail down 90 point weeks every GW, having a quiet one – even a total failure of one – balances things a bit.

        • Chipster says:

You’re absolutely right Kralin. These things usually even themselves out. I had a couple of average GWs a few weeks back. My rivals went ahead in my MLs. I’ve now had back-to-back great GWs and have caught back up. My captain Kane differential helped 😀

Would Salah, Dilva & Mitro to Mane, Fraser & Kane (for -4) be a bad idea? It does also mean I lose a precious 0.2 ITB for bring back Mendy one day too.
