Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7

Gameweek 7 gets going with a lunch time affair. The slowly improving Hammers take on the slowly deteriorating Man United. That fixture is followed by six 3pm matches. Arsenal take on Watford, Everton tangle with Fulham, Huddersfield hands over 3 points to Spurs, City put 5 past Brighton, Toon welcome in Leicester and Wolves look to impress again vs Saints. All them fixtures are just the appetisers though, for the match of the day. The late game sees Chelsea welcome in top of the league Liverpool in what we all hope will be a back and fourth battle. Should be interesting all that attacking talent going up against each other. Salah vs Hazard, also Mane vs Hazard and if that wasn’t enough, Firmino vs Hazard.

All the fun didn’t end on Saturday. Well, actually, it did!! Cardiff vs Burnley?! Really? One game on Sunday and this is what we got?

Monday sees an end to the gameweek when Bournemouth tackle the hell out of Zaha. Lerma to get a yellow via love tap to the shin on Wilfried? No doubt!

Salah owners, you keeping or selling?

      Colriles says:

Never done this before, but sold him for Hazard at the end of the game!! My season is in shambles…

    • 133.2

Definitely sell here. Regret I didn’t do it long time ago.

      inittowinit says:

Tough decision on this for me this week but with 2 FT’s in hand and a WC tucked away I reckon he’s finally offski. I’ve been waiting and waiting to see a spark of hope and perhaps had that Rudiger cleared chance gone in things may be different but in all honesty he was poor overall. Again.

      • Evening Init. I’m really tempted to transfer him out as well, but HUD and CAR in GW9 and 10 is stopping me. If he hasn’t got a haul in one of those he will be gone for sure.

Think I’m going early on these moves as got 2fts myself:
        Kane and Doherty in
        Kun and Mendy out!

I’ll work Kun or Sterling back in depending on Salah in GW9/10 :see-no:

(Got a wildcard to fall back on if it backfires massively laugh )

      • Aarron13 says:

You talking about Salah Adam?, unlike klopp to sub him isn’t it?

    • 133.4

@Mitro – Keeping till after gw10. (my potential plan is in my reply to Init above)

    • 133.5
      Smash says:

Think I’m keeping him. I’m tempted to bring in Kane this week and wildcard him out again after Cardiff

      Gavy says:

It’s been point out to me that the 2 games after city are very handy. If he dosent score 4 over the next 3 that’s it for me.. mane is 2.9 less and is Just Had attacking, have hazard already

      Mitro says:

Looks like most are selling; I have 2 FTs and I’m thinking of this:

Salah and zaha/mitro to Maddison/Richarlison and Kane.

      Chipster says:

I’m undecided on selling Salah. I know the City fixture seems a natural exit point, but he’s scored in every home fixture so far this season (albeit against lowlier teams than City). I have a suspicion he could score this week, and then of course that tasty Hudders/Cardiff double up will follow.
If I did get rid, it would be for Haz or Sterling. Probably Sterling, as I’m stubborn about missing the Haz boat already. Feel Sterling could be the new Haz, in terms of FF returns
Will keep an eye on price changes. If it looks like Salah’s gonna drop, I might sell and then look to get him back a bit cheaper with my WC if he suddenly becomes essential.

      • Well Chipster, you can stay where you are but I am leaving this kindergarten play in which all kids still have Salah from last season in their heads and dreaming that he will start scoring big. And yes, f the “easy” fixtures. When someone is out of form no fixture matters.

        • Chipster says:

Fair enough Ivan. I know this has been your position since before GW1. And, based on the results to date, I can’t really argue with what you’re saying.

I think his underlying stats are still reasonable, which suggests he isn’t totally out of form. That, and the fixtures, and the uncertainty over who to replace him with, all conspire to make me err on the side of keeping him for now.

        • Kralin says:

          That’s an asinine remark, Ivan.

I don’t think anyone has said that they are keeping Salah based on last year. They are keeping Salah because Liverpool will be up against the league’s two leakiest defences.

        • That is a good point and I have nothing against the guy. Just hate overrated players and not prepared to carry on with blinkers on hoping for miracles. You know very well that I have a B team. It’s Salahless and well ahead. There are plenty of options around with better productions for less.

        • inittowinit says:

          Does he leave on both?

        • No Kralin, I have to disagree on this one. We know when someone has been so good previously it’s hard to erase him from your head and hoping that any minute he will start doing the same again. He is still a great player but not good enough value for money in my opinion. And yes, FOMO (fear of missing out) is a mental state with which we all more or less suffer in this game 🙂

        • Kralin says:

I think the decisive move away from Salah, including by people in the top 10k, precedes your comments. So what you speak of is not happening. He is being dropped by sides everywhere.

        • MadHatter says:

          Good grief!
          Why the Kindergarten comment?
          Each to their own mate

        • Well, this is another thing. Very often we are like plankton moved around by the current waves. Now everyone is going mad about Kane. It has been seen before. Kane could totally blank for a while while Salah might start firing as before. It’s the name of the game 😆

        • Smash says:

Interesting comments. If Salah is not performing well enough guess you ain’t going for Kane either. Neither have exactly set the world alight

        • inittowinit says:

Does he leave on both teams? 😉

        • That is true Smash but we all trying to find that one who might set the world alight and if it’s as early as possible the better. And as much tactics are involved we know that very often luck plays a big part. As for the Kindergarten comment which MH quoted above it wasn’t intended in any derogatory way whatsoever. We are all kids at hart regardless of our age when it comes to this game. .

        • No init, he is only in my main team from which he is departing 🙂

        • Kralin says:

The big deal about Ivan’s B team is that, guess what, it always does better than his A team. And, gosh, it’s the team he only spends 5 minutes on each week.

It’s very hard not to succumb to catatonia.

        • Haha, C’mon Kralin. Your B team used to be the best last season if I remember correctly 😉

        • Kralin says:

That was a larky 5-3-2. It finished miles behind. An experiment now abandoned.

        • Oh OK, I am thinking to drop that stuff as well. It’s kind of a bit of fun and exercise on the side but it could be distactive and confusing at times.

    • 133.9
      Kralin says:

Keeping. Pretty easy decision, looking at the fixtures. Huddersfield and Cardiff are very leaky teams.

    • 133.10
      MadHatter says:

I’m keeping. Plum fixtures after City and he’s only 1 goal off of last season start … late bloomer maybe.
I have just taken out Kun for Kane and Bobbyson for Doherty. …. I know it’s early but I’m a loose cannon, a renegade or other such excuses for being a trigger happy dumb ass!

      • Chipster says:

That’s a good point MadHatter about comparing to last season’s start. I remember it was a few gameweeks before he became essential.

Good to hear you and Kralin are Salah ‘keepers’. In all honesty, I think I will keep Salah too, because I’m unsure who to get instead of him between Haz and Sterling. I’ll be dithering over that decision so long I’ll probably keep Salah to avoid having to make the decision! 😀

        • MadHatter says:

I have Haz, Salah and now Kane.
However it only leaves me with Ederson as the City contingent.
If I were to choose over Sterling and Haz though it’d be Haz all day long. Set pieces, manager wants him in the final 3rd and zero chance of rotation.

        • eresh12 says:

good point hatter. they expect him to score 40 across all competitions and certainly is achievable

    • 133.11
      Rosco says:

I’m thinking of keeping him and ditching Kun for a week, it’s an easier route to reverse the transfer than the 2 moves to bring back Salah with good fixtures after GW8

    • 133.12
      The B says:

Keeping till GW10 at least .

    • 133.13
      DMC says:

Selling. To get Kane. But I can also buy Hazard with my proposed move (with Firmino also getting the boot). All that with 2FT of course. So it’s two attacking Liverpool out and Spurs and Chelsea main hitters in. I’m not entirely sure this pays off in the long term but for now seems better (and more fun) than the anxiety levels around ‘trusting’ Salah to be himself again. Firmino has done well though so I don’t really want to sell him. The problem here is I can’t afford any price changes tonight so I’ll probably won’t be able to wait for the Kun news later in the week which is what’s deterring me from doing that move right here right now. I wouldn’t necessarily do it if 1) hits are involved and 2) it’s just Kane in and a mid priced midfielder like Maddison or the like. In that case you are banking on Salah to blank vs City and I wouldn’t like that either. Plus, he has Huddersfield and Cardiff right away, meaning selling him with hits involved will very easily come to bite you in the arse.
      You?

Hi guys, I know early moves are risky during a European week but Kane is tempting me. I just can’t see how to get him in?

    Thinking Aubamyang out

    Aguero out

Kane, Mane & Fraser or Mitro, Salah & Dilva?

Really tempted to hit the button tonight, cos I can’t afford it once Kane rises.

    Mitro says:

    Morning all,

I want Kane but I dont know whether to get rid of salah or Kun to allow the move.

Would prefer prefer to get rid of salah to be honest.

    Thoughts?

      Mitro says:

If I do go with salah, who you prefer:

Maddison or Richarlison to come in.

      Zaha or mitro to go.

    • 138.2
      Kralin says:

There was a lot of chat about this last night.

Kun is carrying an injury and Salah has excellent fixtures on the horizon. I mean seriously good, when you look at the defensive records of 75% of Liverpool’s opposition in the 4 games following City.

Straight-swap wise it seems more logical to do the Kun/Kane switch rather than fiddling round with 2FTs.

Having said all that, if managers are planning to wildcard after GW8 (IB) then this week isn’t a bad time to do the 2FT fiddle about to get Kane in. In fact it may define whether or not they do WC.

    • 138.3
      Mitro says:

      Still thinking salah

      Thoughts?
