Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8. It’s an early start this GW with a Friday kick-off and as ever with these things we hope you don’t join us for Live Match Chat with that sinking feeling of ‘why on earth have they posted Live Match Chat on a Friday night…’. And if you do (looking at you Raz!), don’t say we didn’t try to remind you as it was posted on each and every article this week at some point. Whether you made it in tact or not let’s crack on with the games.
Brighton have the early pleasure of a very much in-form West Ham coming to town on Friday evening. Saturday then sees us with five 3pm games beginning with a resurgent Burnley hoping to build on momentum at home to a struggling Huddersfield. Palace host Wolves in what should be an entertaining and close encounter, as should Leicester vs Everton. Spurs host Cardiff in what should by rights be a shellacking, or at least any Kane captainers will hope to be the case. Watford vs Bournemouth looks another one that is hard to call. Saturday evening may be the straw that finally breaks Jose’s back, and oh the irony if it is indeed Rafa who gets to waft it. Some stories you just can’t write… #here’s hoping
Sunday sees three games beginning with Mitro testing out Arsenal’s defensive resolve, followed by Saints trying and (probably) failing to blunt Hazard and co. Then it’s the game of the week at 4:30pm as Pep tries to exorcise his one real demon in English football thus far: Klopp.

*terms and conditions apply and are available upon request. Management reserve the right to review membership of this league on an ongoing basis. If you enter and win a prize you have to have commented on the site at least 5 times for 8 consecutive months between August 2018 and March 2019 or you will not be considered for a prize. That’s basically 1 comment a week all season, we think that’s a reasonable ask to be considered a ‘regular’.

Obviously very early but part of me is tempted to wc. What do you think? I’m happy with my team for next week but there’s a niggling feeling there to rip it up.
Your side’s in ok shape but I can see the temptation. Sell Kane and spread the riches. Finally get Hazard in. Making sure you have three Liverpool players for their pleasant fixtures. Remove players before their prices fall then nip back in to pick them up cheaper. Give yourself something to do over the IB. Tidy up the bench (mine was worse than yours). Look at who else is playing Fulham, Cardiff and Huddersfield. Seeing a red flag appear and wiping away tears of mirth.
The highlight though is seeing your wc side perform worse than the side left behind. Never fails to provoke a few guffaws.

That’s basically my current team, same front 8 except I have Höjberg instead of the Great Punch and I have Robertson and Doherty instead of TAA and Mendy…
Good old punch would be a 4.4 with a price rise or Stephens with a price drop. Think I’m going to leave it
All jokes aside, that side wouldn’t be worrying me unduly.
Thing with a wc though is I tend to play them early, just so I can sneak players in and out (mostly avoiding price falls, or grabbing one or two whose price may go up a bit and who may make the final XV). So I nipped in for Trent A-A, Maddison and Vardy this evening, just in case I need them for the final cut.
Note to self: use the phrase “nipped in for” more often, granted I don’t know what on earth it means but use it anyway 😀
A nip used to be a word for a pickpocket (or cutpurse).

I don’t know init, simply don’t understand. Earlier I was joking with eresh as he is left with captain Mitro by accident and now this 😯 Now I have to hope that Kun doesn’t play or just go and destroy pool 😆
Happens mate. That ‘confirm’ button can be elusive! Massively exaggerating with 5 a season but I can recall at least 3 times when it’s actually happened on the Site Team between us all and on 2 such occasions it’s actually worked out in our favour
That is a first for me, lesson learnt. They should relocate that button “play free hit”. I know quite a few people who have pressed it accidently and it’s irreversible.
I remember vividly the day they introduced it and recall saying to Cookie on here that that’s an accident waiting to happen. All 3 chip buttons need relocating and replacing in that spot with the confirm one. Does annoy me when such obvious things aren’t picked up on and actioned. Or even worse are picked up on and aren’t then actioned.
True, at least they can include an option to be canceled in case of a mistake. Eresh told me that he emailed them about the Mitro (C) accident but I doubt they pay attention to all that.
