Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9. And so we go again, for about 4 weeks anyway, before the next absolutely essential international break interrupts us all once more. You can probably guess that we rather side with Jurgen Klopp and his view that ‘the Nations Cup is the most senseless competition in the world of football’. Let’s just hope that none, or at least not many, of your precious FPL assets came to any harm in their pursuit of the ‘glory’ of a few Nations Cup points this past week or so.

Back we are though and we start with a cracker as Jose goes back to The Bridge on Saturday lunchtime, an occasion which is always notable, but probably more so when he’s so under the cosh, not to mention scrutiny. Expect to see buses in their droves.

We then get stuck into a bumper 3pm selection with 6 games to feast upon. Which usually means a compromise of paucity over the rest of the weekend but more on that later! An in form (ish) Bournemouth host ‘neighbours’ and terminally out of form Southampton, Cardiff struggle on towards the inevitable as they host Mitro and co, Man City hope to strut on towards their own inevitability against whichever version of Burnley show up, Newcastle host former boss Chris Hughton and his Brighton side, West Ham prepare for the next Cup Final against Spurs and Wolves and Watford face each other in a clash of the early form setters.

Those who sold Salah and co will then be spending Saturday evening behind the couch as Liverpool visit free falling Huddersfield in the late game.

The weekend then limps to a conclusion as Sunday sees just the one game with Everton hosting Crystal Palace before we conclude with Leicester going to Arsenal on Monday.

  1. Need a Richarlison brace today..

  2. Who is the best sub-7m midfielder after Richarlson and Maddison?

Midfield also includes Salah + Hazard but want a strong 5th going forward to set and forget.

Is Fraser not worth it any more? Brooks? Pereyra or try squeezing the extra money and plump for Ramsey?

  3. Everton v Palace

    • Richarlison as a striker again! Fantastic!

      • But so far PAL def. is looking quite strong. Somehow the wing play of EVE is not working or, they are not trying.

        • I’m not sure whether Richarlison is better as a striker, he could be the winger they need right now! His speed at least might be lost in the middle a bit…

  4. 23 minutes….attempts: 2 by EVE, 1 by PAL and nothing on target – that says all about this rubbish match.

    • Moose on talksport just said “will they please start playing football”

      • Nice from Everton, attacking down the right and moving the ball inside with three quick passes, the final of them teeing up Sigurdsson outside the box. He shanks somewhere towards Warrington LMAO Guardian is getting very sarky this match

    • It’s so boring.

      • Whichever match PAL will play, it will be boring – their attack has become too weak and defence equally strong.

    • Ref’s having a blinder!

    • Best 90 minutes of football I’ve seen live in a pub for 10 years! Managed to miss both goals as well as I got bored and went the bar smile

  5. I see some are playing their WC this week and all have Patricio as GK. Is not Ryan a better choice for the next 5 or so weeks in the 4.5 range? I have to swap out Hennessy, so would love your opinion. I only have 1 playing keeper.
    Thanks

    • hey bees. i think foster or ryan are good shouts in the 4.5 range currently.

    • I think Ryan is a good pick for a keeper. You have decent defenders as Wolves coverage. Bennett, Jonny and Doherty

      • +1

      • Thanks Smash and eresh12. Glad to hear you agree with Ryan choice.
How is your week going? Mine could be worse I supposed. 48 with Maddison to go. Hoping EVE won’t score.

        • no worries bees. its been a worse 1. if the game ends 0-0, then it will be 44 excluding any bonus points today. i wanted to do walker to mendy for a hit but opted not to. if bissaka keeps a clean sheet today then i will say its been an average GW..

        • okay bees. i can now say its been a bad GW.

        • Oh well…kind of expected EVE to score. At least it is not Richarlison who my mini league mates have.

        • 46 for me with Maddison to go. Disappointed by Richarlson

        • i end up with my lowest score this season at 39 bees. 531 points. whats your current total points now?

        • thats a decent score mash. hopefully 50+ you can reach with maddison tomorrow

        • Eresh12/Smash -Sounds like we are similar. Eresh I am currently have 546 pts. Worse move so far was Aguero to Kane/Kane to Aguero. Took my first hit for it too ggrrr…

        • not a bad one bees. that was one of them (ag to kane and kane to ag in the past 2 weeks). another 2 bad moments i had was benching doherty in GW7 and 8 (23 points missed) and not captaining aguero inGW2 when he had that hatttrick and assist.

        • Yep pretty much identical to me bees

    • Patricio – Fabianski rotates nicely at least till 25 except 1 GW (22). I am on a WC and thus thinking of changing. I have Foster-Fabianski till now. But Foster does not get any point for save/bonus.

      • thats a good rotation GM. i got patricio + foster which fairly rotates well till GW38 except 2GWs where they face the top 6 in the same week.

        • Did not check that combination Foster/Patricio – will check. Thank you.
Watford def. is much better than West Ham…So Fabianski will get save points and Foster CS points. Tough choice…but I guess after GW38, all will be in that 130-140 range. smile

  6. 2FT, 0.1itb.

    What would you do?

    • Kane to Vardy and Walcott to Hazard, haven’t checked prices so don’t know if your funds is enough

      • I can’t afford it but I was thinking along the same lines. I could get Maddison instead of Hazard and bring in Haz for Salah next week.

I’m also a bit undecided about whether I should ditch Kane or Aguero. Aguero’s gametime is frustrating.

    • Kane to Arnie. Walcott to Hazard. That should leave some cash to get someone better than Knockheart
