Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Silly Gameweek 26
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Silly Gameweek 26. Only in England could we have a ‘Winter Break’ in which all teams still play and yet is punctuated (somewhat) with FA Cup replays for four of them. We say good on Klopp for showing them the finger and highlighting the absurdity of it all. Politics aside, GW26 will be held over two weekends, beginning today on the 8th Feb and concluding a week on Monday, the 17th.
There’s an unequal split too, with four games this weekend and six on the next. It makes for an uncertain and very long GW but it is what it is. To make it even more odd we don’t have a single 3pm Saturday game on either weekend. Why? TV, that’s why. They’ve seen the opportunity and taken it; every single game is now scheduled in a TV slot.
We shall stop ranting though and let you crack on with enjoying the longest of long GW’s…
The games in full…

Just checking in…am I hearing correctly. Is the LIV game called off? Under threat of being called off?
Cheers all.
No, it’s just amused speculation.
The weather forecast for the weekend – it’s amazing that we don’t talk about weather more on this site – doesn’t look great but I’d assume all is going ahead until you hear otherwise.
Thanks Kralin. What a week. I does stop us from falling into a rut though
That’s all the Finns ever talk about, the weather, as in small talk…. It’s horrendous, no “how are you” or “how have you been doing as of late”, it’s all “oh, look, the sun is shining” or “it’s so damn cold today”…. So I won’t be talking about weather anywhere ever again!!!
Zed, slightly wrong here.
The Brits 😉
And,the Finns 😉
hehe don’t discourage him Ivan, he’s on a roll! Zed, please continue, where were we? Oh yes, exclamation marks, do go on.
Dan :haha:
Well, putting the Swiss and the Finns in the same sentence already shows how misguided your source is, whatever it may be… Of course we don’t talk much, but when we do talk, it’s about the weather, and that’s why it’s so annoying too, cause it’s always the same… There are no winters anymore here with the climate change, November has continued for three and half months now… Don’t think it’s far off from the weather in Britain these days to be fair, no snow just 100% slush
When I say Finland I mean Helsinki, it’s utterly cold in Lapland of course… All they talk about is the distance of a reindeer piss, how many kilometers it covers while it pees, it’s a measure of distance :laugh2:
:laugh2: Maybe they meant Swedes instead of Swiss.
Anyhow, like you said, the weather is f***ed everywhere nowadays and it’s likely to get worse.
Current wildcard draft. Thoughts? Should prob get a 3rd pool player. Could bring in firmino for vardy but then no Leicester coverage
Looks good. I’d try to get third Pool player anyways. May be another def. VanD.?
Yeah thought of that too. Would most likely have to downgrade son though
Might be a good decision. Gomez is fairly cheap though if you do want a 3rd one
If you wanted Lei coverage you could switch Traore to Barnes/Perez easily enough
I would go for a third Liverpool player. Their form isn’t bad and the fixtures look ok to me.
I know Leicester are a bit of a curate’s egg at the moment, very much a season of two halves, but I’d have a sniff around Perez or Barnes, and possibly one of their defenders – fixtures post City are hot and I’m hoping (Barnes likely to come in for me) that they’ll get back on track.
I wouldn’t bother with two (playing) goalies unless you have a cunning DGW plan brewing up there.
Richarlison may be worth chewing over. Everton are in a bit of a groove and while on paper their fixtures don’t look great are they really that bad? I’m very tempted to bring him in.
I have been eyeing a Maddison>Richarlson move in my B team.
It’s a shame there isn’t a parallel league for B or C teams. You could then have parallel blogs and so on. Endless possibilities and mutations.
Richarlison seems an A team type of move to me – one I can’t quite decide on – but to each their own.
I don’t have the funds in my A team unfortunately.
I’ve toyed with the idea of bringing him in for KdB and with the exception of the DGWs, trying to put Man City players behind me this season.
Whether or not I’ll have the nerve to do that is another matter.
Hi all, isn’t this game week rather odd etc., etc…
My plan was to bring Boly in (for Lundy or Soy) this week but looking at my first 11, I’m not sure I really need to this week and maybe it’s worth carrying over the FT.
Views? (1FT, £0.6m ITB)
No, you don’t particularly need to at all. But if you did would you play him over Lascelles? He’s probably got a slightly higher % chance of a CS. Although it smacks of seeking a ‘perfect’ team every week, but that’s not a bad thing.
Many thanks Init. Yes you’re right it boils down to the Lascelles position. He’s got a xFPL of 3.2 and Boly has a xFPL of 3.9. Maybe the flexibility of 2FTs next week is more valuable.
I’m planning to keep Soy, for now, as post City the fixtures look pretty good to me.
Thanks Kralin good point.
Hello all. A mate sent a link to a pretty cool site that calculates your average percentile finish over the time you have been playing FPL. You can also see where you would be if you had not made any changes since week one. Worth a look for anyone who has not checked it out already. All the best.

Nice, thanks.
Who is the better GK going forward…Pope or McCarthy? Only have 4.7 to spend right now.
Thanks!
Haven’t really examined the fixtures going forward, but I’ve been set it and forget it on Pope all season and been reasonably happy. But I also have Stephens from SOU so wouldn’t double up on either team defensively.
Good point re Stephens as I will bring him in soon. Thanks
Both quite similar to my mind so maybe the cheaper McCarthy wins on price/value?
Prob McCarthy as you can get him and Taylor for cheaper than Pope and Strphens
Wolves update – Traore ok for the weekend
A tidal wave of relief washes over me.
Kralin, if you’re happy, I’m happy!
It’s really the most marvellous feeling, isn’t it.
Hmmm, still have doubts even though he is deemed available. Ah well, nothing we can do now anyway
That’s good news Cookie. Didn’t want my -4 hit player to not start. Cheers mate.
