Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Xmas Special GW15+16

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Xmas Special GW15 & 16.

Given that GW15 begins on Saturday and ends on Sunday and then GW16 starts on Monday we hope you can forgive us for not squeezing in any other articles. In fact they are so closely related we have simply decided to put up a joint Live Match Chat for the pair. Seems lazy, and it probably is, but it also makes sense. Crack on and chat about both, basically.

Not to complicate matters all you really need to know is the following;

GW15 begins at 11am on the 26th.

GW16 begins at 1.30pm on the 28th.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for GW’s 15 & 16 from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Xmas Special GW15&16.

QUESTION – If I do not do a transfer this GW17 and In GW18 I use the Free Hit, will the GW17 Free Transfer carry over to DGW19 and give me 2 FTs’

    KP says:

No, you’ll only have 1 free transfer after the week where you use the free hit chip.

Thank you KP for that info – although I do not like it!!

    65(-8) this GW.
Planning to do Forster to Fabianski this GW. FH18.
For BB19 I’ll replace Taylor, Stephens and any of the big hitters depending upon the fixtures with (-8) again.

      Pretty sound plan.

Boy that GW just passed was a good one to absorb a hit like that – good play, well lucky play I know but it’s very nice when things like that work out. And a good counter-narrative to other things that went on.

      Best of luck this GW.

Have 2FTs and a bit confused as Covid is starting to take its toll again… I won’t be playing BB in GW19… Thinking Getting Soucek in with 2FTs is one option at the moment, any ideas? Cheers and happy new year folks!!! :drinks:

      Kralin says:

Soucek is a good option, as is Saka (who plays in 18) – though the latter is marked as partly injured (or was when I last looked).

Otherwise, as per my suggestions above – you could cover yourself slightly by having a second playing goalkeeper if you decide to do nothing else (e.g. not to waste a transfer).

And just keep checking for updates. Given that postponements may well happen after the deadline there’s not a lot we can do really.

Happy new year. What a delight 2020 has been.

      Morning Zed,

Soucek is a decent option and someone I’m also looking at.

I don’t think I will be going with BB in GW19 as it stands I have 8 players for the DGW, will take a hit to field 11.

      • Zed Leppelin says:

I like Soucek as he would give me 1m in the bank to perhaps make an upgrade somewhere else to get another DGW player, then I could have 9-10 DGW players I think, and West Ham do have nice fixtures after GW19

    Smash says:

An awful 34 points for me. I only had 7 players. Guessing I need a defender for Taylor. I’ll have 4.8 to spend as have 0.3 in the bank. I’m kind of expecting GW18 and 19 to change fixtures wise.

If it makes you feel better Smash: I got 30 points. Horror show.
Many in my ML are in the 60s.
I think I’m giving up on FPL for this season.

      • Zed Leppelin says:

I think I wanna quit every season these days, I’ve been wondering whether it’s just something about getting older, gone is the raw power of the youth for me smile

      • Smash says:

I just keep going. It is what it is I seem to get more than my fair share of bad luck which is difficult to take at times but it’s only a game at the end of the day. It’s not like it really matters

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah I am never really quitting, it’s just a feeling that I didn’t have before, I think smile

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Or maybe it’s just variance, the first 5 years I played I was lucky, allegedly anyways smile , and perhaps now it’s been a few rough years, that’s all…

        • Kralin says:

These are healthy attitudes. It is only a game. Luck tends to even itself out. The missed matches this GW will be played – it’s not as if they’ve vanished into the aether.

Don’t give up Frenchie. Maybe just go through the motions for a week or two and review after that.

        • Smash says:

If luck evens out across the season my second half is going to be out of this world

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Luck doesn’t even itself out though, that’s a classic misconception… If you play roulette for instance, and you get black 20 times in a row, the likelihood of the next one being red is still the same as it is before every spin, roughly 50% (because zero doesn’t have a color so it’s not 50/50)… Likelihoods and what really happen are two different things, it might be likely that luck evens itself out but actually rarely does…

But there is always a chance of it evening out, of course, it’s not impossible! So keep I pushing forward!!! smile

        • Frenchie says:

Thanks Smash, yes it’s just a game, I need to remember that smile
It’s just a bit frustrating when you spend some time on it and it feels like none of it matters.
I guess I’ll just continue with a more “casual” approach, spend less time on it to try to just have fun.

      • Kralin says:

I think I put the classic in misconception.

Just trying to lift morale, but point taken.

Will actually take any points, come to think of it.

      • Frenchie, the casual approach always helps.
There is not much difference but still….
On the left is my main team with which I spend all week of plotting.
On the right is my B team with which I never spend more than 10 minutes.
