The World Cup officially begins on Thursday June 11th. With 48 teams, 3 host countries and spanning 4 different time zones with 13 different kick-off times this could be messy. But let’s give it a try………

The Rules – in short
It looks very much like Champions League rules, in a roundabout way. The main takeaways are essentially;
- $100m budget
- Squad of 15
- 3 separate matchdays for the group stages
- Separate matchdays for each round thereafter
- You can switch players in from your bench during each matchday
- Likewise you can switch your Captain to your hearts content
- Deadlines are kick-off times – good luck with that one!
- There are a myriad of ‘Boosters’ to use

Although Baena is likely to start at least the first game there is a slim chance his place to be taken by Nico. So, to be on the safe side replaced him with Rodriguez and that’s the final move.

Not playing with you all this time around, traveling a lot during the first few weeks. Anyway I’m checking in to see folks teams so please post how you are doing. I might chime in from time to time regarding the matches I do get to see. Mexico looked sharp. USA looks poised for an opening statement win. Good luck to you guys playing.

The hop on hop off captain bus journey starts today. The armband will be moved from Rangel to Elvedi for Switzerland followed by Brazilian Raphinha. If they failed, it will be between Musiala and Wirtz for tomorrow

It’s a tough match for Brazil but he can score. Next round easy peasy. Planned to bring in Raphina but Vini may be a better choice. Don’t have the money if I want to keep Kane and Oyarsrbal.
