Fantasy Premier League £1k Regulars League 2020/21
Hello everyone and welcome back to the FF247 Regulars League(s).
We have exciting news about the FF247 Regulars League. Over the years we have gradually increased the prize pool, bit by bit. This year we are DOUBLING it! It’s mainly as a ‘thank you’ to our members but also partly thanks to FanTeam who are sponsoring it. So this season’s prize pool goes up from £500 to £1k. And we are not only increasing all of the prizes for each placing we are extending the winners to 10 spots. And introducing a prize for our Regulars Cup too.
This main purpose of this article is so that the Regulars League has a permanent home for reference points throughout the season, such as cup draws. It is also linked to our Hot Topics just above latest comments.
FF247 Public League

As per usual we will have the FF247 Public League, that anyone can join. This one has a prize pool of £300 and is also sponsored by Fanteam. The outright winner will take the lot. It is however widely available, hence the name, it will be Tweeted and posted on Facebook, and poplulated by thousands as a result. Many of whom are unrecognisable faces.

Hence why we created the Regulars League. This one is for people who are part of our community on a regular basis, hence the name… On top of this there are H2H Leagues and also a Regulars Cup.
The main ‘Regs League’ attracts a prize pool of £950, again sponsored by FanTeam. This prize is bigger than the Public one as we prefer to reward our loyal community with a larger share of the spoils. In fact the winner themselves will get £300, 2nd £175, 3rd £125 and even 4th is still a ton up.

To be eligible for this one you need to be a registered member of the site (have a username), and post in the comments at least 4 times a month for over 6 months of the season (and no, saying ‘Hi’ 24 times doesn’t count!). Rest assured this is monitored and if anyone finishes in the prize spots and doesn’t fit the above criteria they will be getting nowt.
The leagues are free to join but you do need to e-mail Elle at the address below to receive the codes. Please leave these details for him when you do:
1- Your site name.
2- Your real name.
3- Your FPL team name from season 2019/20 and your new team name for 2020/21 if you intend to /have change(d) it.
Please email him as soon as you can because the H2H leagues deadline is midnight on 31/8/2020 as he needs to sort the leagues before the start of the season. The Classic Regulars League will stay open a tad longer.

For the first time our popular cup competition will also attract a prize. The winner will get £50.

This was meant to be a reply to #13.
Just did a quick calculation on those prices using my final team and I am uip to 98.5 mill with 3 defenders missing.
I think it’s going to be difficult with an average price of 6.66 mill per player. I don’t think I will have the last game midfield of Mane,KDB,Pulisic,Saka and Bruno,but I will wait and see what the prices are for the promoted teams. Mitro is an old favourite and Pereira of Weat Brom looks good if a reasonable price.
Yeah, it’s really hard to build a good, balanced team on those prices. I hope they will be a bit more lenient on us and won’t be such huge increases.
Agree…I tried putting a team together with likely prices and gave up.
Could be but there will be some leeway though for sure as if they increase everyone it will be too difficult to create a team for 100 million.
Do they even care?
Yeah they need people to actually play the game. They are usually pretty clever about prices
Kun may be cheapish – in the way KdB was an utter bargain at the start of last season.
Don’t forget to get any stats you may want before the game updates. FPL stastico is my favourite tool. My forwards let me down this year and my captain choices to some extent.
What exactly do you check? I tried in various seasons, but not much of a help.
A great and a modest year for comparison. I look at distribution of points and probably inherently funds. I will try and dial back a bit on the big mids and distribute the money a bit more evenly next year. I got my mojo back at the end of the season. It goes well when points are coming from everywhere and all the players are chipping in.
Ok, got it. So you do a YoY comparison of your performance. They also introduced a luck factor this year. I guess its based on your selection and the player supposed to perform, but did not perform (something of that sot).
I got 2255 – almost same as yours this year. But I got derailed in Gw20-28 with 52.9 avg. Otherwise 1-10 (53.4), 11-19(61.1), 20-28 (69.5). This has become my eternal weakness. Every season I falter in that Gw zone (18-28), the mid-season. I could not improve in last 5 seasons here.
How early do you use your 1st WC? Could holding this longer help?
This season I did in 12.
Admirable patients, I’ve never held it that long. Hard to say. It could just be a quirk of a smallish dataset.
Where do you find these stats? I put my id into FPL Statics but don’t get these?

The team that finished first in the game has been removed due to a breach of terms, as have a few other teams. Likely everyone will have gained a few positions. My OR has gone up by 12 places.
