Fantasy Premier League £1k Regulars League 2020/21
Hello everyone and welcome back to the FF247 Regulars League(s).
We have exciting news about the FF247 Regulars League. Over the years we have gradually increased the prize pool, bit by bit. This year we are DOUBLING it! It’s mainly as a ‘thank you’ to our members but also partly thanks to FanTeam who are sponsoring it. So this season’s prize pool goes up from £500 to £1k. And we are not only increasing all of the prizes for each placing we are extending the winners to 10 spots. And introducing a prize for our Regulars Cup too.
This main purpose of this article is so that the Regulars League has a permanent home for reference points throughout the season, such as cup draws. It is also linked to our Hot Topics just above latest comments.
FF247 Public League

As per usual we will have the FF247 Public League, that anyone can join. This one has a prize pool of £300 and is also sponsored by Fanteam. The outright winner will take the lot. It is however widely available, hence the name, it will be Tweeted and posted on Facebook, and poplulated by thousands as a result. Many of whom are unrecognisable faces.

Hence why we created the Regulars League. This one is for people who are part of our community on a regular basis, hence the name… On top of this there are H2H Leagues and also a Regulars Cup.
The main ‘Regs League’ attracts a prize pool of £950, again sponsored by FanTeam. This prize is bigger than the Public one as we prefer to reward our loyal community with a larger share of the spoils. In fact the winner themselves will get £300, 2nd £175, 3rd £125 and even 4th is still a ton up.

To be eligible for this one you need to be a registered member of the site (have a username), and post in the comments at least 4 times a month for over 6 months of the season (and no, saying ‘Hi’ 24 times doesn’t count!). Rest assured this is monitored and if anyone finishes in the prize spots and doesn’t fit the above criteria they will be getting nowt.
The leagues are free to join but you do need to e-mail Elle at the address below to receive the codes. Please leave these details for him when you do:
1- Your site name.
2- Your real name.
3- Your FPL team name from season 2019/20 and your new team name for 2020/21 if you intend to /have change(d) it.
Please email him as soon as you can because the H2H leagues deadline is midnight on 31/8/2020 as he needs to sort the leagues before the start of the season. The Classic Regulars League will stay open a tad longer.

All we ask if you enter the leagues is that you please keep the codes to yourself and don’t divulge them to family or friends who do not frequent the site. These are for the FF247 Community and we would like to keep it that way.

Is the cup the same as H2H?
No, the cup begins in January. The top 64 in the Regulars league, usually after the Boxing day gw, enter the draw. Its then played out over the remainder of the season on a knockout basis.

Who are the top 3 names your are keen at looking at from the promoted teams that might make your GW1 team?

I don’t think there’s a lot for me. Mitrovic, the Leeds full backs Dallas and Ayling depending on price. Watkins and Benrahma if anyone buys those two. The rest are price dependent so depends if they are really cheap. Like Kamara is ok for a bench forward
You think a new 4.0 Lord might emerge or that was a 1 time thing, probably never to happen again?
I’d take any 4 million playing defender
It does depend on price but I might consider:
Leeds – PabloFernandez or Ayling although the latter is a bit of a card magnet
Fulham – Mitro will be in quite a few teams. Im looking at Bryan as a possible 5th DF
WBA – Really unreliable at the back. MattFelipeCosta is best but I think he’ll be overpriced. Diangana might be worth a shot.

Last season AVL were paired with WOL. This season, they should be paired with WBA. That might make a cheap alternating H/A GK or DF choice
I hate rotating keepers and defenders. Think I’ll just go super weak on the bench and hope for the best. Only because I pick the wrong one I’ve seen. It work before

Problem with GW1 will possibly be a lot of missing players.
I wouldn’t be surprised if people pack a side for GW1 then wildcard straight after.
Either that or bench City players and start with a load of dreck – or I suppose set up a side with several placeholders in anticipation.
Looking above I was startled to notice that each sentence seems to be slightly longer than the previous one. Almost as if it were some strangely constructed prose poem.
With so many potential premium options I might not be able to afford any City players because of the rotation factor. We will see but yeah if any are missing the opening round of games think I’ll pick a team for 3 weeks and wildcard after. I certainly did not wildcard early enough last season
Well, we’ll see. I’ll try not to have a nervous breakdown if Pope is 5.5m. I daresay the ‘I’m picking Mane over Salah’ debate will be with us soon. 5/3/2 being the best formation. It’s all something to look forward to. I was half thinking of penning something quickly re the 5/3/2 so I can copy and paste it in each time it comes up.
There are whispers of players changing position, but whether that all plays out we’ll see. And what if City have a DGW in GW2? That’s what I meant re the immediate wildcard. But that’s a few jumps down the track.
I really hope Pope is 6 million. Though I can see some players coming out cheaper than expected because there might be a fair amount of premium options. Speculation of players changing positions and a lack of strikers means I’ll prob be looking at 3-5-2 or 4-4-2. Like talk of TAA being really high at 8 million for example but then Robbo outscored him the previous year. It will be interesting I think
