Fantasy Premier League – Ones To Watch in 2020/21

With the 2020/21 Premier League season just weeks away it is time to start looking at building that Fantasy Football team. It can be crucial to get off to a good start as when you’re chasing the pack you can make some pretty risky decisions when it comes to team selection!

We all know the superstar players we want in our teams – Kevin De Bruyne, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mo Salah etc… However, getting some hidden gems in can be just as crucial.

Last season, Nick Pope, the Burnley goalkeeper, would have netted you 15 clean sheets and 170 points which no one could have predicted. Danny Ings for Southampton was another revelation after an awful time at Liverpool. He finished as the second top goal scorer with 22 goals and a huge 198 points.

Players like this can really help you finish ahead of your friends come the end of the season. But, who do we think will be the ones to get in early at a cheaper price and help you climb the table?

Ones To Watch In 2020/21

Matheus Pereira – West Brom – £6.0m
The Brazilian forward has just joined West Brom on a permanent deal after a brilliant year on loan at The Baggies. He came away with eight goals and 20 assists in the league.

Now he has joined West Brom on a permanent deal, we are expecting him to get a lot of game time. With his side getting promoted this will mean more money available to bring in new players.

If he can get 20 assists with Championship players, how many can he get with Premier League players?!

At just £6.0m he looks like a great tip for a good player at a cheap price, freeing up more money for bigger names.

Phil Foden – Man City – £6.5m
Everyone knows who Phil Foden is. Pep Guardiola has never been shy about his admiration for the youngster, saying he is the most talented player he has ever seen and Pep has worked with the very best.

Now that David Silva has left Manchester City, Foden will be in with a chance of a lot more game time. In the final 10 games of the season, Foden registered five goals and one assist.

He is only £6.5m and is down as a midfielder. Foden played as a winger during the last ten games for City and created many chances. This season could be the one where he really established himself as a Premier League player.

Michail Antonio – West Ham – £6.5m
The Premier League ‘Player Of The Month’ for July will be hoping to start this season in the same form he ended last season. He finished on ten goals with eight of them getting scored in July. That could be due to the fact he has now found his position as a centre forward.

At £6.5m he is an experienced Premier League player who has shown he has what it takes to get a lot of points. A cheap option and one that should be worth serious consideration.

Hakim Ziyech – Chelsea – £8.0m
The Chelsea new boy comes into the Premier League after four years at Ajax. He was one of their shining stars in their Champions League run in 2018/19. He cost Chelsea €44 million and combining that with the fact Willian has left, expect to see a lot of him this season.

Last year Ziyech finished on six goals and 13 assists in just 21 league games. Since his first season as a professional footballer, he has averaged 11 goals and 12 assists per season. At just £8.0m, that is a cheap price to pay for such a good return.

Christian Pulisic – Chelsea – £8.5m
Another Chelsea man for serious consideration is the American forward, Pulisic. He joined last year but it took the final nine games for fans to really see him in action.

Pulisic ended the season on nine goals and six assists, four of them during Chelsea’s run in. This fantastic form saw some pundits compare him to ex-Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.

Pulisic looked world class in this period, and with Ziyech on one side and Werner up front he could get some serious fantasy points this year.

So there you have our five hidden gems for the upcoming Premier League Fantasy Football season. If you want to hit the jackpot, go beyond the big names and look for those consistent players who can steadily build your points as you race the season unfolds.
