Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 11

Happy Sunday to you all! Belgium and Russia kick us off at 5pm today with Lukaku hoping to atone for his no show in stage 1. Well ok, he showed up, but he did pretty much bugger all and disappointed many who had him as a last resort captaincy option. Hopefully he can produce in this one and announce himself on the world stage. Either way, and even if he notches a hat trick, we imagine Jose will be sat at home saying ‘meh, bring me Costa’. Hazard and KDB will hold many a hope here also and it will be interesting to see if Belgium can get into their stride as they looked a little burdened in the opener, perhaps with the weight of expectation but if they can it would be thrilling to see a ‘smaller nation’ finally threaten the established teams.

South Korea and Algeria go at 8pm. Little of fantasy interest here we imagine other than the odd cheeky Algerian filler. If you have an under performing star elsewhere then replace and hope by all means but don’t be expecting much. Although a few of us thought that of Greece the other night and woke up with an extra 20 odd points so just never know!

The good old USA are back in action at 11pm as they attempt to tame Ronaldo and 10 other Portugeezers. Given our links with MLS and having a good number of regulars from the USA we may be a tad biased here but we make no excuses for saying ‘Go USA!!!’ in this one. Ronaldo himself is struggling with a persistent knee injury that his medics have warned him he needs to rest but we imagine he will be out there fighting regardless as Portugal look to avoid an early exit from the competition.

Thanks for reading Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 11 – Good luck everyone!

Got a full compliment of Belgians coming in (Alder, Hazard and Luk). Please don’t let me down this time! You are my only hope.

Love how I have risen a few places without gaining any more points, that’s a good few teams above me risking captaincy changes and losing a decent haul 😛

    hi all.
feeling rough after a 2 day binge on the mean streets of fort worth. Never seen so many people wearing cowboy hats with no sense of ironny. Time to get back to business. Dzeko out for Lukaku is an easy one.
Should take out a 7 point midfielder for a belgium defender??? Quick quick – Clock is ticking! smile

Hello guys, anyone miss me yesterday?
I was busy visiting a heavy metal festival that was in my homecity; got to see some amazing bands! Got to see some lesser known Norwegian bands, and some bigger such as Kvelertak and Turbonegro. The best was that I got to see some true legends: Anthrax and Slayer! They were amazing!
    Be jealous bitches :hippo:

oh there you are Tekno! Don’t ever wander off like that again without telling us where you’re going. We’ve been worried sick!!

Glad you had a good time mate. Can’t say i’ve heard of any of those bands, but i imagine, given my in depth knowledge of the scandinavian music scene, that they are a lot like Abba.

So have you neglected your team whilst you’ve been off? Are you on track to qualify from your group in the Potty 32?

Dude, Slayer and Anthrax are American. They are considered amongst the four biggest thrash metal bands alongside Metallica and Megadeth. It’s understandable that non-metal fans haven’t heard about them, but for us metal fans they – especially Slayer – are like living legends. It’s amazing to have someone like them playing in my homecity, especially considering that I live in a small city with only 30.000 inhabitants. The best thing is that the festival will be an annual thing!

When it comes to my team, I’m ranked 1st in Potty C 59 points ahead of 2nd place, so everything is going swell here :big-lol:

Tekno we spent the evening last night listening to Elton John in the garden! He was playing in a nearby town called Leigh which is a small ex-mining town. No idea how he ended up playing there but he did and we enjoyed it immensely! Love Mettalica by the way. GNR are my favourites though, albeit not strictly ‘metal’.

        • Init thought you’d be more Village People. :big-lol:

Reckon Metallica’s non-thrash stuff is better by a mile. Nothing Else Matters and The Unforgiven two of my favourite tracks

Hm, seems I sparked a conversation about music. Not often you see that on this site. Think I need to add this to my name. Did actually tape Slayer performing Raining Blood. People with facebook can check it out on my timeline:

Think it should be available to everyone.

The old people who don’t have facebook, the studio version of the song can be found here:

Might wanna turn down the sound a little.
